  1. Well I'd like to get an idea of how many people we may be expecting.

The All Things Pony (Anthology II + Etc.) AMV Panel is on around 12pm to 2pmish. I'd say we should meetup to that panel because it seems to be the only thing big going on this year that's for Pony. :)

  2. Train up to Seattle (from Portland), and hotel expenses for me. The hotel is the real killer, to be honest - the train ride itself is cheap enough that I don't consider it to be an issue, really. I stayed in a Westin hotel near the convention center when I visited Seattle for PAX Prime back in 2011, which was a bit spendy.

It's something I'd love to give a shot someday, and may have considered for either this year or the following year, but... well, let's just say that my travel destinations for this year are already booked up. ;)

This does make me want to go, to be honest. v_v

I wanted to attend PAX, but I had no one to go with and it was too much money for me at the time. I guess for me though, Sakura-Con is easy for me because I know someone who has a room that they are willing to share with me and I got a free ride down. Next year I don't think it will be easy for me again though.  :P

And yeah, there was a lot of pony merch at Sakura-Con last year, especially in the Artist Alley. Though, a lot of them went to Everfree as well, which, I still need to attend to as well. The one pane I went to was sort of a kickoff starter for Everfree NW actually.

  3. I've thought about going to Sakura-con a few times now, but have never quite been able to convince myself to make the required investments. Unfortunately I don't really think anime conventions are really my sort of thing to be honest, as I went to one while on a trip to Boston several years ago and wasn't too interested in things.

I've been to it about three times (this will be my fourth time going) and it's awesome. The attendance is always 12K+ every year and they have quite the layout. Last year, I went to a few pony panels and bought lots of pony merch and some anime stuff.

But yeah, Sakura-Con does require a lot of investment.

  4. SO GOING, its only a 10-12 hour drive form northern Alberta, i am so stoked to finaly see a Brony con in Canada, i would drive for days just to go eh!

Even if you don't end up going this go around, I have a feeling the next time they have a convention it will be somewhere in Alberta!

  5. I read quite a lot. Online and offline. Currently I am writing Our Federal Union by Issac Asimov and For A New Liberty: The Libertarian Manifesto by Murray N. Rothbard, both very good reads.

  6. 1. What grade did you learn to type in? And have you ever used an ordinary typewriter, whether it was electric or manual?

I learned to type with a keyboard, particularly ones from the older Windows 98 and XP computers. The good ol' white plastic ones. I did not really get into learning how to fully type until middle school.

    2. What was your first home video game system and what year did you get it?

The Nintendo 64. I remember when I was five and my step dad came home through the front door holding the box with the console in it. It came with Diddy Kong Racing and I loved that game a lot. It was about.. 2000 I assume.

    3. What is the oldest car, make and model year, you can remember your family owning?

The oldest car I can recall my mother owning when I was very young was her 1993 Subaru Legacy. I grew up in that car until she sold it to my older brother and revamped the car, I rode in it a few months ago and it was great and it put me through deep nostalgia.

    4. Did you ever have first generation My Little Ponies or Transformers? If so, when did you get them?

I wasn't really into MLP or Transformers, even at a young age. Though, I was curious about ponies back in 2008.

    5. Who was the earliest president, prime minister, governor, head honcho, etc. of your country that you have a first hand memory of?

Off the top of my head? Probably George Bush, seeing that he was sworn in 2000. Although, I was young enough to remember the election in 2004.

    6. Do you recall smoking being allowed in workplaces where you live? US members under 20 will generally say no but answers from other countries may vary.

Not really, smoke-free zones were implemented when I was very young.

    7. Did you ever use old-style roller skates instead of roller blades?

    Not really. :P

    8. Did you ever use a pre-Windows PC?

Ehhh, no, like I said, my first computer was the Windows 98.

    9. Remember “Be kind, please rewind”?

Yes, we used to get a lot of videos from Blockbuster and we owned several VHS tapes with the sticker on it.

    10. Name the first big blockbuster movie you recall watching in a theater that wasn't a re-release.

That's a toughie, the only big movies I remember seeing in theaters as a young kid was movies like Star Wars Episode II, Atlantis the Lost Empire, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers' Stone and Finding Nemo. So it was either of those.

  7. Day 1

    • English 11 (Linear)
    • Break (15 Mins)
    • Civics 11
    • Lunch (45 Mins)
    • Drafting & Designing 11
    • Science 10

    Day 2

    • Aboriginal Support Block (Linear)
    • Break (15 mins)
    • Civics 11
    • Lunch (45 mins)
    • Drafting & Designing 11
    • Science 10

    Fun stuffz :)

  8. So that's just great. [/sarcasm] A Canadian brony con shows up... and it's on the opposite side of the country. I live in Nova Scotia, so I guess I'll never get to go to a con.

Well, it is a traveling convention. Their soul intention is to travel across the country every year to each province, so there may be a chance. :)

  9. "The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all;

it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe
level, to breed a standard citizenry, to put down dissent and
originality. School days, I believe, are the unhappiest in the whole
span of human existence. They are full of dull, unintelligible tasks,
new and unpleasant ordinances, and brutal violations of common sense and
    common decency."

    - H.L. Mencken

"The greatest danger to the State is independent intellectual criticism."

    - Murray N. Rothbard

"My mind is my own church"

    - Thomas Paine

  10. I would say I am 50/50. I don't care to be the dominate type and I don't wish to feel superior and pretend that everything around me is a competition. I love stuffed animals and other girly things sometimes, but I am not going to wear makeup and get my nails polished. I embrace many feminine aspects like loving, tolerating, caring, being academic, being emotional, etc. As for my masculine side, I suppose working, acting serious and striving for greatness.

But honestly, screw the labels, I can be whatever the heck I want regardless of what's too much of this and too little of that :)
