  1. Even though Masun was trying his best to be compassionate, the story Auria told reminded Masun of all those hundreds of years ago, probably closer to a thousand, when he first became a vampire to avenge his mother an father. Masun didn't know at the time that the vampire Ronin was now his master because of the vampire ritual. Even though he had been given the great strength he needed to single-handedly take down the corrupt emperor, he did not know the price he was to pay. When he made it home, the love of his life, the one he had made the sword that he used to exact his revenge against the corrupt emperor, was there. And they had spent a compassionate night of love together, but Masun was not ready for what was about to happen. When he heard the sounds of an intruder from downstairs he ordered his love Haruki to stay in bed. Who he found downstairs was the ronin who made him a vampire, and when he tried to attack the ronin, he felt an immense pain from disobeying the master/servant contract. When Haruki heard his screams of pain she ran downstairs with the katana Masun had forged for her as a present, and tryed attack the ronin. But the ronin was a vampire master and was much quicker than she was, so he quickly subdued her and took the katana from her hands. Then the ronin vampire master ordered Masun to kill Haruki with the blade he forged for her. He disobeyed the order and sat in anguish with immense pain flowing him through him because of the master/servant contract. Haruki couldn't bare to see Masun in pain so she grabbed the tip of her katana, the one Masun was holding, and ran herself through with it. Haruki wanted to see the the sunrise one last time, and so Masun slide open the rice paper door as he held Haruki in his arms, her blood staining his hands. The ronin issued an order, but because the sun light was upon them, their vampire powers were no longer active. Masun pulled the sword from Haruki's chest and attacked the ronin. He was caught off guard because of the sunlight stripping him of his powers. Masun slew him, but no amount of revenge could bring back Haruki. All these things were filling Masun's mind, his smile slowly changed to a hurt, confused look. "Uh- yeah... no, you're fine. No need to apologize." Masun struggled to find the right words as his mind swirled with unwanted buried memories that he had been trying desperately to forget over the years. He reached in the shadow cloth sack that he had draped over his shoulder and pulled out a random bottle. It was Maple Whiskey, he uncorked the bottle which was brand new, and chugged down about half the bottle instantly.
  2. Masun listened intently to Auria's story. He had never been in a position where he had killed someone who didn't deserve it to drink their blood. He didn't even need to kill people to drink their blood. For the past 10 years he had been drinking the blood of those who would go back to his hotel room with him after they fell asleep. But had he been in a similar position, he no doubt would have done the same thing. The difference between Masun and Auria was that Masun had no friends of his own. He had been on his own for hundreds of years, and he liked it that way, or rather, he had grown accustomed to it. Masun was about to say something when Auria grabbed him with tears in her eyes and he lost his train of thought. "I...uh-" Masun fished for an answer and then formulated what he was going say. "Well, you don't have to worry about me. I can't die by normal means. And unless your teeth are tipped with blessed silver, or your saliva is holy water. I am not in any danger." Masun said. He tilted his head a bit to the side, the strands of his shaggy blue hair shifting with the change in position, a warm smile formed on his face. "But, I swear that I will protect the group from any harm that comes its way. Although I doubt the group will need it, they are very talented individuals. I also swear that if you lose control of yourself, I will be there to snap you out of it."
  3. Masun saw the complete changes in Auria's facial expression, going from one of general interest, to one of anguish. Auria ran off back into her room leaving her door open. As a rule, Masun generally didn't like getting involved in personal issues, he was still battling with his own, so he didn't know how he could help. However, he thought that since he was the leader of the group, he had to at least have the illusion of compassionate ability. So, without another second thought, he felt himself move through the door way. Hearing the sound of regurgitating, he immediately made his way to the bathroom, only to see a hunched over Auria and a toilet full of partially digested entrails. She washed herself off, and seeing as how she hadn't said anything, it was clear she didn't know he was there yet. One massive positive to being an asian vampire, even though he was tall for a japanese person, was having a small enough frame to be silent and nimble on his feet. Masun. standing in the bathroom door frame, decided to speak up to let her know he was there, "I have a hard time believing that Ghouls can get physically sick through an illness. So that only leaves the option that you were nauseous due to disgust. And judging by your facial expression, I would wager to guess that because of earlier facial expressions, it is due to a bad memory of some sort." Masun didn't want to pry if she didn't want to talk about what was afflicting her, but he decided that leaving an open ended sentence would allow her to speak her mind if she wanted to.
  4. "I'm not the one who plans what we do outside the facility. I imagine that would me Director Davis's call. But I assume there are people higher up the food chain than her within the government who give her assignments to give to us as well. The important thing we will be doing is we will be training every night and honing our skills. I am not too advanced with my vampire abilities and I am still learning new things I can do, so I know I can use the training. So we will stay vigilant with training at the beginning of each night when we wake up." Masun explained.
  5. Masun took a quick stop at the mini-bar in the main lobby and snagged a few bottles of various alcohols. Masun encased the alcohols in a sphere of black shadowy vampiric energy, and grabbed the top of the sphere like it was a fabric and slung it over his shoulder like he was Santa Claus, but with alcohol. Masun rode the elevator back down to the living quarters and began walking back to his room when he spotted some of the others conversing in the lobby hallway. He overheard the conversation, still carrying the black shadow satchel of alcohol across his shoulder, he walked over to them "Yeah, not too different at all. I can eat human food, it doesn't taste any different than it did when I was human. It just doesn't do anything for me. It's like what I'd imagine happens when a human takes antibiotics but isn't sick. Human blood is the only thing that does anything for me. I could theoretically 'survive' off of animal blood, but it tastes horrid as compared to the sweet succulence of human blood. And mage blood- MMM- don't even get me started on how great that tastes." Masun paused to adjust the satchel he had draped over his shoulder. It wasn't heavy, it just becomes uncomfortable to stand in the position that Masun was in for too long. Masun looked at Auria, " I don't know how ghoul blood tastes, but I smelled you bleeding from across the room earlier, and again when we were fighting. You're anatomy seems to be the same as a human's, Auria, but you're blood... I don't want to say it smelled repulsive, moreso it just smelled uninviting, like animal blood does to me. I'm not trying to offend you or anything. I'm assuming that I would be okay if I drank your blood for whatever reason, I just don't think it would be a sufficient source of sustenance for me. And I am willing to bet, my regenerative vampire flesh would be the same for you if you were to eat it for whatever reason." Masun finished.
  6. "I'm going to have to agree with Charles on this one. While it is true that the point of this was to demonstrate our powers, the point was not to tear each other apart. I have already seen the extent of Charles' abilities in the fight with Sam. Since Charles can't heal on his own, having a 2v1 seems like a surefire way to cause some serious injury that might be irreversible since Charles can't heal without his ointment. Either way, I believe I have seen the extent of Lenaria's ability here. I declare the match over." Masun explained. Masun looked around the room and noticed that Charles was right and Auria had gone off, probably back to her room. "Well, that's sad. There was another matter I wished to discuss as a group but it appears that the whole group is no longer here. Well, before we leave, I want you all to think of a group name. We'll discuss it at our next meeting, and throw ideas around. All Area units have a initial technical name, which is normally just a number, and a codename that the unit comes up with themselves. So be thinking about that the rest of tonight. We'll reconvene in the briefing room around the same time we met here tomorrow. Since we are all going to pull an all nighter to switch our sleep schedule, you'll have a lot of time to think. With that, I believe we are done here. Good job everyone, see you all tomorrow night." And with that Masun stood up and left. "Well that was anticlimactic, good job anyway." Dir. Davis said as she stood up about to leave. "If there isn't anything else, I think Im going to get some sleep. I have a big day tomorrow, a lot of briefings to sit through and I wouldn't want to be tired for them."
  7. Zeke flipped around with a completely red face, and he wanted to run after her but he decided to just yell, "WE'RE JUST FRIENDS!" but then began to blush even more when he realized that Raiya was standing right there and probably heard most of that. Raiya smiled at the exchange but then quickly tried to turn her expression into a disapproving one, but only managed to cock one side of her lip down so her face looked more like a smirk. "Quit teasing the boy. He's too simple minded to even know what a relationship is, let alone have feelings for the opposite sex" "HEY! I HEARD THAT!" Zeke yelled. He was going to walk over to Raiya and Chelsea to argue with them, but he relented and decided there were more important things to do. So he walked back over to the counter Raiya leaned over and whispered into Chelsea's ear "But between you and me, I think he is just afraid of the prospect of having another family because his family was taken away from him a few years ago" "Well, to be honest, you remind me of myself in a previous life. I was once a hunter too. God's Hand has been a rumor for generations. I still don't know if it even existing, comrade. But, the mere fact that the prospect of its existence is still powerful enough to rally together people like you brings, me hope." Vern said, taking the thousand note slip and dropping the keys down onto the counter. "The bus is in back. It's only bus back there so it shouldn't be hard to find."
  8. "In terms of versatility White Oak is indeed better than silver, but blessed silver is certainly devastating" Felicia replied. Masun looked around and noticed that Sofia was not present in the room, and since he knew she was in the room at one point, she must have snuck out when everyone wasn't looking to avoid the fight. "Well, since it seems that Sofia isn't participating, Charles, you good for another round?" Masun asked.
  9. Masun found a towel and wiped the sweat off of his forehead. Masun grabbed his shirt and jacket but did not put them back on. He draped his towel over his right shoulder and went back to his chair to watch the fight. The fight was intense and certainly one of more tactics than complete strength. "That was indeed quite impressive. What was in that first bullet? Blessed silver dust or white oak shavings?" Felicia asked. "Alright Lenaria, Sofia, you're up." Masun replied to the last two of the group.
  10. Masun was so surprised at the fact that she not only took the cut but forced herself into it that he didn't have any time to react to the incoming punch. Masun felt the punch pierce straight through his muscles, through his stomach and out his back. The pain was so intense that Masun dropped his sword and scabbard, both dissipating but not before the illusion spell wore off the scabbard in his right hand revealing that it was a scabbard the whole time. Masun looked down at the arm that was currently pierced through him as he coughed up a ball of blood. Masun grabbed with both hands onto Auria's arm and used his vampiric strength to pull her arm out of his stomach. Immediately the wound in his stomach began stitching itself back together, any onlooker could see sinews magically regenerating and reconnecting. There was a large amount of blood pooled where he was standing, and Masun was feeling a bit anemic. "That was very good, Auria. But I believe this is where we should stop Charles and Sam, you're up next" Masun said. He sat on the edge of the ring recovering stamina from the fight. He picked up his jacket, taking out his flask and finishing off all of the rum that was in it before tossing the empty flask to the side. It wasn't that he was winded, because vampires don't need to breathe, but he was feeling a bit drained. "Well, I'm glad I chose you as a member of this new team." Felicia smiled and looked over at Masun who looked drained, "I had some guards put a mini refrigerator into your room that is filled with IV bags full of blood of various blood types. Same for you Auria, they put in a mini fridge with human meat steaks and organs from our morgue. If our soldiers die on duty we have some of them sign a voluntary release form to donate parts of their bodies for oddity food. The body still looks presentable for a funeral, but we basically hollow it out of all the non aesthetic parts like ribs and organs. And it isn't just our morgues, either, we have a ring of human body part traffickers throughout the united states. So there is never a shortage of food for you guys."
  11. "I know all about you, Charles Wallasey Foss. Though, I do admit that I have never seen a photo of you. I definitely wouldn't forget a handsome individual such as yourself. Nice job out-ninjaing that ninja a few months back, I read the briefings, but you know with all the redactions in our documents, I never get the full story, it must have been some fight." Felicia replied Masun's fist collided with Auria's fist with immense force. Masun did not expect such power from Auria's punch, which is why he did not utilize his full vampiric super-strength, and had he not loaded his punch with vampiric energy, he had no doubt that his arm would no longer be attached. The collision of fists generated a massive amount of kinetic energy, which went down through their bodies and out through their legs. A shock wave of energy was also generated which shattered a few of the fluorescent light bulbs that were in the ceiling 35 feet above them as well as shook the arena under their feet. The shock wave could also be felt by the rest of the team members who were watching the match unfold. After the shock wave subsided, Masun jumped backwards again, creating distance between them once more. Hmm, it's obvious that my basic arts aren't going to work on her. Perhaps it is time for me to use something more advanced. Masun thought Masun didn't think it was smart to announce the name of his art in this instance, although if he was to shout its title, the title would be Sainan-ryū: Bakemono-ken or Calamity Style: Ghost Sword. Masun concentrated his vampiric energy into both of his hands, the energy began to eminate in streams upwards and accumulate in a thick black cloud above him. Masun tossed his sword up into the cloud, and after about five seconds, two identical swords came falling out of the cloud, and Masun swiped both of them out of mid air, now wielding two swords Identical to Haruki. Even though it appeared as though he now had two identical swords, this was far from the truth. The truth is that, using his vampiric energy, Masun had created a perfect illusion, that managed to change the appearance of his Scabbard to that of his sword Haruki. In Masun's left hand he held Haruki, in his right hand he held the weighted cherry wood scabbard. Masun then used his vampiric agility to quickly close the distance between him and Auria, when he was within striking distance he slashed horizontally at Auria's torso with the faux-Haruki scabbard in his right hand, and slashed vertically down at Auria's right shoulder with the true Haruki in his left hand. If the scabbard hit Auria, all it would do is leave a small welt, but if the Katana in his left hand hit Auria, it would cut into the flesh. Both being identical, it would be impossible for anyone watching to tell which is the real and which is the fake.
  12. Auria grabbed onto Masun's sword, but instead of panicking, Masun simply let go of the sword, and used his strength and agility to leap with a front flip over Auria and twisted midair so when he landed, he was facing Auria's backside. With his right fist he channeled vampiric energy into a punishing punch aimed at the small of her back that would release massive shockwaves, with his left hand he summoned Haruhi back from Auria's hand. Felicia examined the Australian man, he had long brown hair, and silver eyes. So this is the famous oddity hunter from Area 10. "Please, call me Felicia," Director Davis said, "You're not exactly what I expected. From your reputation, I expected a beast of a man with scars on his face who smoked cigars constantly. I didn't expect you to be a skilled hunter and a looker too, this is good." She said with a smile.
  13. Masun wasn't prepared for the sudden attack, he didn't even have the time to summon his sword. Auria closed the distance between Masun and herself so quickly that, were he a normal human, would have put him in a situation of certain death. But as Auria closed the distance, Masun was able to activate his vampire insticts, his eyes began to glow deep red, and a thin wispy black aura of vampiric energy enveloped him. Masun activated his vampiric insticts just in time, as Auria was currently right in front of him, her claws striking directly at his body. Masun, using his vampric strength within his legs, launched himself upwards 15 feet while simultaneously launching himself backwards 5 feet to the edge of the arena. With the speed of his jump, he narrowly escaped the full brunt of the slash, only suffering shallow wounds on his chest. Four horizontal parallel lacerations could be seen momentarily on his chest before his flesh knit itself back together. Masun's shirt now in tatters, he pulled off his shirt and jacket, revealing his toned vampire torso, and the diagonal scar from his right pectoral down a little past his navel. Masun tossed his jacket and shirt off the side of the ring and narrowed his eyes. "I see, no room for messing around here." he said. Taking full stock of the situation, Masun used his vampric senses to gauge his opponent. As with always, when he activated his vampric instincts, he could see the entire circulatory system of his opponent, as if he were looking through an X-Ray. Auria's circulatory system seemed to be the same as a normal humans, if it were a vampire, the heart beat would be considerably slower than that of a human being. Masun wasn't too sure about the science behind the vampire anatomy, but he did know his heart beat was considerably slower and softer than that of a normal human's, thus making his body considerably colder as a result. But this wasn't the same for ghouls, as Masun was seeing. Auria's heart was actually beating very quickly, it was about 200 beats per second, which was high, sure but not inconceivable. Although, heart rates normally only get to that amount through considerable exercise, which Auria had not been doing prior to the match. This led Masun to believe that activating her abilities made her heart rate go into overdrive. Masun shook his head as he snapped back into reality. He extended his right hand out to the side and clenched his fist as he shouted, "HARUKI!", black mist accumulated around where he clenched, materializing into just his sword, no scabbard. Immediately his vampiric aura began to dissipate from around his body, but the aura seemed to be transferring into the sword itself, the sword was soon completely shrouded in a black wispy energy. Masun raised his sword directly above his head. Keeping his blade vertical, Masun exclaimed, "Sainan-ryū: Reibenkurou" which would be loosely translated as Calamity Style: Raven's Claw. Directly after exclaiming the name of his attack he slashed his sword in a downward arc sending three vertical shadow blades, the same size of the sword's blades, slicing through the air at Auria.
  14. "I could say the same thing to you." Masun said, noting how serious she was. "No, there will be no need for you to hold back against me. You know, you could bring your knives, they cant cause any permanent damage to me. Though, I will be using my sword as well." Masun explained as he stepped into the arena where Auria was now.
  15. Masun was about to answer Auria when a voice sounded from outside the sparing room they were in. "So, you guys have all become acquainted with each other, I see." Felicia Davis, the Director of Area 51, said from the doorway. Felicia Davis was a fairly short woman with long, black hair tied into a bun that was pined with chopsticks. Her bangs would have descended a bit over her bottom half-rim glasses and her yellow eyes, had she not had them secured to the side with bobby pins. Masun stood up from the chair he was sitting in and walked over to the doorway so that he was only about four feet in front of Director Davis. "Yes, we have. Now, please, leave. We are doing hardcore fighting stuff here, a prissy businesswoman like you wouldn't be interested." Masun condescended. "You're right, I wouldn't know anything about that. Perhaps you could show me a thing or two in the fighting ring." Dir. Davis suggested with a sly grin as she stepped into the ring. There was a digital panel on the post closest to Director Davis. She pushed a few buttons on it, and the ropes around the ring descended, leaving an open elevated fighting area with no ropes to fence it off. "The rules are simple, you leave the ring, you lose. I will allow you to use your sword, and don't be afraid to hold back" Masun had to try to hold back his excitement. The one woman who had ruined his life and forced him back out of retirement is allowing him to attack her. This was almost too good to be true. Masun stepped into the square arena and held his right hand out in front of him conjuring his sword Haruki (named after the woman who he loved). The scabbard of the sword was dark-red cherry wood with an ornate sakura cherry blossom design painted on the middle of it. The hand-guard was engraved with a flower pattern, and the blade itself had a perfect mirror sheen. "Alright, but I hope you know what you are getting yourself into." Masun said as he unsheathed his blade. He threw the scabbard to the side and the scabbard evaporated into black mist, midair. Masun looked at the director who stood there with her sly expression on her face, and couldn't help but wonder if she was planning something because of how overconfident she looked. But, in that moment, Masun with all his rage pent up, didn't think too much into it. Instead, he charged at Director Davis with his sword in his right hand, held behind him a bit as he ran, the tip of the blade just inches above the ground. Masun closed the distance between him and Director Davis in just a split second. Masun then began his technique of the Sainan-ryū style, the Killdeer Strike. Masun stepped forward on his right leg with his foot at an awkward angle. The result of this made it appear that Masun had stepped incorrectly on his foot, and was falling over because of this. But instead of falling over completely, mid fall, Masun sent a side slash out at Davis's torso. For a moment, it appeared that Director Davis had fell for it, and she was about to be cut in two. But, at the last possible second, Director Davis, instead stepping back, took a step forward. Director Davis was so close, that the blade was no longer a thread, and the hilt and Masun's arm would hit her instead, but even that would not happen. Director Davis then spun around so her back was facing Masun, crouched downwards, grasped the arm above her, and used Masun's momentum to fling him out of the ring and onto his backside. Masun's sword went flying out of his hand and dissipated into black mist as well. Felicia scoffed at the vampire who was picking himself off the ground "I see, so your sword style relies on using slight-of-hand and deceit to throw your opponent off and gain the upper hand. Very useful. But it is only truly useful against someone who underestimates you. I, however, am fully aware of how powerful you are, so it did not catch me by surprise. In fact, quite the opposite, I had the element of surprise here. Perhaps you are the one who should work on properly estimating your opponent's abilities" Felicia said, before stepping out of the ring. Masun stood back up and brushed the wrinkles out of his clothes. "Yes, I did underestimate you," Masun said. And I wont be doing that ever again. He thought. "Anyway. That match we just had was a poor example of what we were supposed to be doing here. In our matches from now on, stepping out of the ring wont lose you the game, because these matches aren't about win or lose. What this is truly all about, is using our abilities on each other so that we can gain a full understanding of how one another works so that we can formulate plans using our abilities on the field. I suppose a good example was when Davis picked apart my technique, but since the round ended with me flung out of the ring, I was not able to see any of her abilities. So I was the only one examined." Masun explained. He took his flask out of his jacket pocket, took another swig, and placed it back in his pocket. "Because of this reason I have decided to pair each other with an opponent who is more likely to handle the techniques of the other person. So-" Masun pointed at Auria "You and I will be first in the ring." Masun finished.
  16. The damage from the punch that Auria sent out was more substantial than what was first thought. When Auria's fist collided with the kitsune's Hugh Jackman face, the face imploded into a shower of bloody grey matter and cranial bone. His head literally disintegrated on contact with Auria's fist. The lifeless, headless Hugh Jackman body was sent flying across the room and when it came in contact with the wall, reverted back to the large wolf form. After about 10 seconds, the body burst into blue flames and disappeared leaving only ashes behind. Masun, watching all this, dropped his jaw. "WOAH!" Masun giggled, "That guy was a tool, glad someone did something. If someone else wasn't going to do something I might have." Masun mused. "So, now that the Nocturnal discussion is out of the way, I would like to segue into our next discussion and the reason why we are here. We are here because I want us to spar against each other. Since we are on the same team we cant have any secrets that might inhibit our synergy as a team. So I want us all to state exactly what we are. I know some of us have told us straight up what we are. But, no matter what, I can tell you that we wont be ashamed of what you are. We all need to be on the same page. I will go first. As I have said before, I am a vampire. Yes, I do require human blood, but I know that Area facilities give out blood transfusion packs to vampires to drink from. " Masun explained. "So, who is next?"
  17. It appeared everyone was present and accounted for, so Masun decided to repeat his question for everyone to hear. Masun heard Lenaria's question and decided to answer that first. "This is merely first on the agenda because not everyone was here for what I planned for us to do at first. First and foremost, I would like to reiterate my previous motion to change everyone's sleeping schedule to that of a nocturnal schedule. My reasons for bringing this up is because if we are to go out on a mission it would have to be during the night for the reasons that I am a vampire and am extremely weakened in the sunlight, and because our Lunar Mage friend Sam is at her best during the night hours. Because Vampires and Lunar Mages operate the best during night, and because we don't have any special individuals that require the sunlight to operate, we would be doing all our combat missions for Area 51 during the night, and that would require everyone to be in top form. So it would just be in everyone's best interest if we switch over to a nocturnal sleep schedule. Even though I have been named leader of this team, I am not one to run a dictatorship, so I want to put it to a vote." Masun raised his his hand, "All in favor for the nocturnal schedule raise your hand."
  18. @@Octavia's Bow, "It doesn't sound like you were at an actual AREA base, it sounds like you were at a training facility. AREA bases are operated 24 hours, and since I am the leader of this Unit, whatever I suggest to Director Davis to better the group will be accepted." Masun explained.
  19. "Well, we are currently waiting for the rest to arrive before I tell you what we are doing here, but since there are enough people here I suppose we can begin a discussion about something related. As you all know, we are currently apart of a team a unit. And as such, we must make sacrifices for the better whole of the team. Even though it is the beginning of the evening, since it is-", Masun looked at his phone, "Currently 9:57 PM, I would like to begin a discussion to see how you all feel about this. It appears that there are quite a few of us in this group that are actually nocturnal and required to be nocturnal. I, for one, don't really ever sleep. However, I can't use my powers in sunlight and am weaker than even a human in sunlight, it feels like I am extremely sick. My energy is sapped, I get a splitting headache, my whole body becomes super sensitive, it isn't fun. It is like having a hangover, and don't even get me started on having a hangover on top of being in the sunlight as a vampire, woo boy." Masun reached into his jacket and produced a small flask which contained Bacardi 151 Rum, he took a swig or two before capping the flask and placing it back into his jacket pocket. "I know for a fact, that Lunar Mages require the moon to be potent, which either requires it to be night, or requires a Lunar Eclipse. So, Lunar Mages are nocturnal. So already, there are two in this group that require to be conscious during the night. Now since I am almost positive that none of you require to be awake during day time, I would like to take this moment to put forth a proposal. Our first motion as a group, a vote to change everyone's sleep schedule to a nocturnal schedule." Masun paused so to let his request sink in. "Now I know some of you might be thinking, 'but Masun, not all of us are required to be nocturnal, wouldn't it be strategically in our best interests to have some agents awake during the day and some awake during the night, so just keep it as is.' But I don't believe it to be an advantage one bit. I feel like in a unit we must all be on the same page, and have some unity. If some of us suffer from adverse effects being awake at daytime, all of us should. That way we can work as a team when we are sent out on missions. With that said, since not everyone is here, we can't all vote, so I am just asking you all what you think about that idea, everyone going nocturnal?" Masun finished.
  20. ((>turning into Hugh Jackman I'm afraid I am going to have to report you for that one, Concerto. kek)) Knocking on the office door of Director Davis seemed a bit formal, and he didn't feel like showing respect to the person who had literally stone walled him into joining Area again. So Masun just tried to open the door, which, to his misfortune, was locked. Masun put his ear up to the door and, using his vampiric senses, attuned his hearing to listen through the door. All he could hear was a classical song playing from some speakers in the room, probably coming from a computer. No one was inside, if they were, he could have heard their heartbeat. Masun stepped back from the door and scratched the back of his head with his right hand. Now what? I could go snooping inside her office. But I wouldn't wanting her to know I was in there, so breaking the door down would be a bit of a problem. Perhaps there is a power I have that would allow me to enter without her knowing. What kind of other powers do vampires have, anyway. All my life I have been trying my hardest to not use my powers too much. I mean, I developed a sword style that takes from vampirism, but that was an accident, finding out that I could implement vampiric energies like that. I have never really had someone who was a vampire, show me any tips or tricks, I have kind of just winged it. Masun thought as he looked at the door. Thankfully there was no one else inside the office area near Davis's office. Oh that's right! She said something about a board meeting or something, so everyone important is probably there which accounts for why no one is here. Masun thought. Masun stepped back in front of the door and placed his right hand on the door and concentrated. He wasn't sure what he was trying to do, maybe there was some vampire ability that could unlock the door or something, but he was just winging it again. As he concentrated vampiric energy into his hand he felt as if his hand were being pushed through a bowl of cornstarch and water. As if the door where ever he was touching was now suddenly goo, Masun walked through it, a black shadowy aura of vampiric energy surrounding him. Masun stood in the office, not surprised at all how simplistic it was. A desk with a computer on it playing music out of its speakers, a couple of filing cabinets, and a water cooler in the corner. Masun walked over to the filing cabinets and opened up one of them and noticed every file had a person's name on it. Noticing there was alphabetization splitters between sections of the files, this drawer ended at B, Masun went through each one finding the Ms. Going through each of the Ms he noticed the spot where his file should have been didn't have his file in it. Closing the cabinet and scratching the back of his head once more he turned his focus towards the desk. The computer was locked, but there was a ledger with Davis's daily schedule on the desk, open to today's date. Masun looked at the digital clock mounted on Davis's wall in front of her desk, the clock read 21:04 so 9:04 in standard time. The ledger read: All of the other times were blacked out, and Masun guessed it was because whatever she was going to do before, was now replaced with the board meeting. They've been in there for about five hours now. Granted I don't know what the average time for board meeting is here, they must be in a heated discussion. It says that it was regarding the new unit, that must be us. Masun thought. Masun was about to go back through the door when his vampire hearing heard the secretary at her desk right outside the office. Masun walked over to the wall adjacent to the door, to his right. He placed his ear to the wall and didn't hear anyone coming down the hallway, so he concentrated and began to phase his body through the wall with his vampric energy. Masun walked right past the secretary as if going about his business like normal. He stopped walking mid stride and turned his head to the secretary. He saw her desk and noticed the name plaque on the desk read Joanne Fitzgerald. He looked up from the name plaque to see a young, thin redhead with curly long curly hair, and small reading glasses that rested on the tip her small nose, which was smack dab in the middle of her long face "Joanne, is it?" Masun asked still mid stride. "Yes?" She asked with a questioning undertone. Her voice was a soft high pitched voice with a small nasally undertone. "How would I go about getting a message out to all of my Unit? Like, say I want to tell them to meet me somewhere in this building, how would I do that?" Masun asked "Well, save having telkinetic powers to just broadcast your thoughts to them directly, which I assume you don't have, I suppose I could send out the message over the PA system to them. What do you want to say to them?" She asked. "Tell the new unit that Masun Murray says we are to meet in the training quarters at the sparring area as soon as possible. Thank you, Joanne" Masun replied and walked away. Masun was only just outside the offices by the time the PA came over the loud speakers: "Attention New Unit, Masun Murray would like everyone to meet in the sparring area." Masun walked over to the sparring area and saw that Sofia was already there punching at the punching bags. There were punching bags hanging from the ceiling, some dumbbells and medicine balls on one wall, and what looked like a boxing ring in the middle. "Hey Sofia, glad to see you were already here. Hopefully it doesn't take them too long to get here." Masun said. Masun found a folding chair and moved it next to the entrance/exit of the sparring room and sat down on it, watching Sofia hit the punching bag while waiting for the others.
  21. "Ah yes, you weren't here for my introduction as to what my powers are. I am a vampire. Even though I have only been conscious for about one-hundred and twenty years, I am actually probably closer to eight-hundred years old. I am not quite sure how old I am in terms of years because I have never really given it that much thought. If I were to do the math I could figure it out quite easily, but my estimate is somewhere between seven to eight-hundred years old." Masun explained. Masun noticed Sofia gesture with her bag. "Sure, go ahead and find your room. The female living quarters are down that hall to the left, your room should have a name placard on its door with your name on it. Seeing how a couple of our members are nocturnal, I am going to let them sleep for probably five hours, and then I am going to round everyone up for some training exercises in the training wing." Masun took another sip of his drink. "Technically I am nocturnal as well, however, I don't necessarily need sleep, and since I have a tenancy to sleep for a couple of centuries at a time, I have a bit of insomnia." Masun finished. Although it was true that he had insomnia, it wasn't because he slept for generations on end, it had more to do with the waking nightmares he had every night since he woke up from his last hibernation that kept him awake. Masun stood up, and waved off everyone else, which at this point, seemed to only consist of Lenaria, and walked off to the elevator. It's time I payed Director Davis a little visit, Masun thought.
  22. Masun just simply watched everything unfold as Sofia entered the room, taking sips of his alcoholic beverage while he watched. He allowed everyone else to re-reintroduce themselves, before re-reintroducing himself. "Well, Sofia, it's good to have you on the team. I am Masun Murray. As you can tell, I am Japanese. I used to work for Area 14 like Otanashi, shortly after World War II I traveled the world and ended up in America where I have been living since. Most recently I had been living for ten years in Las Vegas. I didn't really have any ideas of joining back up with any Area, but the DIrector of Area 51 offered me an Ultimatum: lead a group of special individuals to thwart World War III or get blacklisted and have all my assets burned. So, here I am."
  23. Masun shook his head in disbelief as he heard the Kitsune try and rebut the fact that a sorcerer was the causation of both genocides. "I assure you it was a mage. The entire bombings were an Area 51 operation, and Area 14 couldn't stop it. Area 51 had a few very powerful Solar Mages at the time. Through training and reading of ancient texts, the Solar Mages learned of a special ability that had been used to wipe out Lunar Mages so long ago. It was the ability to harness the energy of the sun into an explosion so devastating that it could level cities. Afterwards, the Solar Magi grew furious that Area 51 would make some of there mages use a forbidden technique and withdrew their forces from Area 51. But it was too late. Having studied the spell to such an extent, Area 51 was able to reverse engineer the spell to artificially create the same result, and that is where the original Nuke was invented. But that was a few year down the road from when they said they had invented it." Masun explained and took another sip of his drink. "Anyway, I never really explained why we are here. We are here because because the director of Area 51 fears of a third world war. She asked for a transfer of forces, and then she forced me to join as the leader or else she would blacklist me making it impossible for me to do anything in the United States without doing it completely under the table. It would have closed all my bank accounts, burned my citizenship, and seized any of my property on US soil. So, I had to say yes. So, since I am the leader of this new unit, I wanted everyone to get acquainted with eachother, which is why I asked for introductions since not all of us know each others' names." Masun explained again
  24. "Well, to start with, Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't even blown up by 'nukes'. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were leveled by powerful spells cast by a sorcerer. And-", I couldn't do anything to stop it, Masun didn't finish his sentence out loud but finished it in his mind instead. "Anyway the mage is right, as I said before 15 minutes ago in the lobby of the first floor, change your form to that of someone who isn't already here, Kitsune. While we are at it, we should introduce ourselves and explain our powers. My name is Masun Murray, I am a vampire, a retired blacksmith, and I also created my own vampire-based sword-style Sainan-ryū." Masun said.
  25. Masun rinsed the conditioner from his hair, turned the water off, and stepped out of the shower. There was a stack of towels on a rack to the right of him, he grabbed one and began to dry himself off in the mirror. Ah yes, yet another myth about vampires, the ol' vampires don't have a reflection myth. It was started because people used to think reflections were your soul, and since vampires do not have souls, they don't have reflections. That's completely stupid, there are no such thing as souls. Immortal entities? Sure, but souls, that is just a part of that religious crap they believe in to assure themselves that they will go on after they die, Masun thought to himself as he stared in the mirror. Masun used the towel to dry his hair, placing the towel on his head and roughing it up for about a minute. Masun never brushed his hair, even though it was medium length, his blue hair was thick and held a specific shape when dried. After drying his hair as best as possible, he looked at himself in the mirror again, his hair now back in the shaggy shape it normally was, his bangs dangling a bit into his eyes. Masun tied his towel to his waist and walked back out into his room. He untied the towel and tossed it into a plastic bin in the corner of the room. He wasn't sure if it was indeed a dirty laundry bin, but he didn't really care. Masun slipped on the uniform and walked back into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. So formal, it makes me want to puke, Masun thought. Masun untucked his white undershirt, and unbuttoned the officer jacket to make it as informal as possible. Welp, I think it has been fifteen minutes already, maybe more. I should probably head out to the lounge. Masun left his room and stopped by the minibar and whipped up something he called a Midori Ryuu or Green Dragon. It was basically melon liquor, fire water (spicy cinnamon liquor), and white grape juice. Masun walked out into the lobby and overheard the magic girl ask her question. He took a gulp of his drink and then answered. "Why are we gathered here?" Masun began to reply. "We are gathered here because they don't want us to win. They want to keep us down and drain our bank accounts to make us fight their wars. Instead of just letting us drink in solitude, they are afraid of their enemies so they force us to defeat their enemies so they can keep their top spot as a world power. THAT'S why we are here. They put up doors to success, and we can't take the hinges off." Masun finshed his spiel and took another drink as he found a chair accross from Charles, and next to the hooded girl and the mage.
