  1. *backs out of previous discussion because I really have no more input on it.*

Here's something I think we can all agree is one of the worst things to happen as a result of the fandom: Poser "fans" who really could care less about the show and the fandom, but use it as a tool for trolling people.

  2. You can't really blame people for liking what they like. People like to make such things and others like to look at it or read it or watch it or what-have-you. You can't fault people on something they find enjoyable even if you don't personally like that they exist.

Seems we've got an interesting debate going here.

Another one of the problems I have with the weird stuff is, it gives haters fuel. Haters see things like Cupcakes and Sweet Apple Massacre and go "Ha ha look at these losers! They slap their salami to torturing ponies!", and get everyone thinking bronies are sickos.

I know that things like that happen to all fandoms, and that it can't be prevented, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I just don't get who turns My Little Pony into that, what they hope to accomplish and why they feel the need to. Just kinda goes against the whole love and tolerate message when we have stories floating around depicting pony torture.

I like horror movies, slasher films, and I like the Toxic Avenger series, so I'm not one of those "OMG VIOLENCE IS TEH DEVIL!!!1" people. I just don't see the appeal of applying it to My Little Pony.

  3. No one forces you to look at it, and since you ignore it why do you CARE? The people who like this kind of stuff are going to have it in their head no matter what, so it'll always exist.

I know what you're trying to say, but what I really meant I guess is, I hate that the stuff exists. And I hate how it becomes popular and is frequently mentioned. If it kept to it's own little disgusting corner of the internet, I wouldn't mind it. But the fact that people always make references to it, and allow it to get popular, is what irks me.

tl;dr version: If people kept that kind of thing to /b/, somethingawful and ebaumsworld so I could ignore it easier, I wouldn't mind it's existence as much.

  4. [rant]

The worst possible thing to come out of it is, in my opinion, which is also conveniently what someone else said: The fact people feel they need to destroy the show's innocence with x-rated fan content, gore-filled fan content, and anything of that sort. I mean, Pinkie Pie. Cute, fun, party-loving character? Nope, the weird people get in and feel the need to turn her into some kind of Ed Gein-esque figure.

Rainbow Dash. Character that acts tomboyish? Nope, the weird people decide to draw/write her as a lesbian to get their jollies.

I mean, the stuff like this really doesn't bother me since I ignore it, but what bothers me is it's existence. Why do people feel the need to turn something innocent like My Little Pony into whatever disgusting crap they can? It's My Little Pony, not A Serbian Film. If they want gore and other disgusting things, why not do their rule 34 crap with something less innocent?

  5. Does this religion have ceremonial cupcake baking? Please, no references to that fanfic.

Firing of the party cannon as a rite of passage?

How about sacrifice of balloons, by inflating them and letting them fly away?

  6. Just be clear with him and get it out in the open.

Personally, I think it would be better to sit him down and tell him, even if you know he doesn't know.

If you sit him down and tell him, it's you who gives him the ever-important first impression, filling him in on the details. If he figures it out, he could make false assumptions, things like that.

tl;dr It's better to tell than for them to figure it out themselves.

  7. I used to think that in the sewers there were guys who sorted dead goldfish and stuff like coins out of the sewage.

Also used to think that (the house was close to train tracks) if I didn't get on the porch when a train came by, when the ground shook the earth would split and I'd fall in.

  8. I was a hater.

I was angered at the intrusive annoying fans who force the subject on every unrelated subject, to the point I'd get mad and troll anyone who liked it. Eventually I pulled my head out of my posterior, and ended up where I am now, but before then, I drew pony-hate pictures which I refuse to share and would troll/be a jerk to any bronies I got the chance to.

And now, well, look at me. :3

  9. What would qualify one for magic?

Well, duh. Being able to practice witchcraft as the result of various sacrificial blood rituals.

I think I'd be kindness. I'm a nice person, to the point people walk on me. I'll do nice things for people, they treat me like crap, but I keep doing them. Also good with animals, so there's that.

  10. I would say long after the show ends, but the fanbase would probably shrink. Heck there are sill tons of Star Wars and Star Trek fans and these fanbases have been around for ages. I would have to say you don't have to worry about the bronies going anywhere any time soon.

You said pretty much what I was going to.

But, yeah. Even when the show dies off, bronies will still be around. A show ending doesn't neccesarily kill off the fanbase. Fire may go out but the embers will burn for a long time.

However, downside to that is, we'll also have hipsters who run around wearing ratty MLP shirts and saying "I was a remnant of the MLP fandom before it was cool".

  11. Saw the episode, like it.

Nice seeing an episode that elaborates on a minor character, and the normal flow of episodes returning. :D

I actually like that it didn't focus on the mane 6. After all, if the show only focused on them all the time, it'd get boring, right? Also nice seeing the CMC doing something different.

I laughed at them using Granny Smith as a puppet.
