  1. "Disney" Channel is even worse than that, they might as well call that channel the Mary Sue power hour if Walt Disney was still alive he would put a boot up all the asses of the knuckleheads who thought this was even a remotely good idea.

Let me tell you about a little show called Phineas and Ferb. It's one of funniest and wittiest kid's shows out there. Not everything out there is bad. It's just there's so much mediocre stuff that only the best will stand the test of time. You think everything was good in the 90's?

  2. Adventure Time and Regular Show are both fantastic Emmy winning shows. Adventure Time has actually brought tears to my eyes. Cartoons are only getting better. Don't let nostalgia cloud your eyes.

EDIT: The Legend of Korra, FiM. Not to mention adult cartoons like Bob's Burgers, Archer, Futurama and American Dad. Also, the cartoon I'm developing.

Nah, I'm not a hipster. Just kind of annoying seeing nearly every brony I see obsessed with a character like Luna.

I like Celestia too. She's the Dumbledore of MLP.

I think that a lot of people like Luna because they think they can relate to her. I.E. She's an awkward introvert outcast who never sees the light of day and expects the world to make her feel better about herself instead of trying to build up her own confidence by going out and experiencing stuff.

NOT. She was never awkward. She's a highly trained figure in Equestrian politics but has fallen hopelessly out of touch after that grudge match with her sister.

  4. I feel like everyone should learn how to cook. Seems like it's such an undervalued skill. I only cook vegetarian options, but I'm getting pretty good at it. My favorite thing to cook is the breakfast burrito. (potato, onion, garlic, egg, peppers, salsa, spinach)

Saute diced potatoes and sliced onions in olive oil (Potatoes are done when they're soft in the middle) Break two eggs over mix, then move it over to half the pan. Add the red and green peppers to the other side. After it's done cooking, add to tortilla with cheese, salsa and spinach. Yum.

But, why a Mass Effect movie? I know it would be a good movie but, I don't know if people will see the movie since there may be a slight possibility of it having a bad ending like Mass Effect 3. But still, a good movie idea.

I'm not so afraid of losing something that I don't want it made in the first place. :)

Matthew Fox... was he the model who provided his likeness for MaleShep?

I know, right? But nah, his most notable role to date was Jack from LOST.

The only cast I can think of that I would love to see is Emma Stone as Liara. Whenever I played mass effect and saw Liara It always reminded me of Emma Stone. I think Emma could pull off the role too.

Don't get me wrong, I like Emma Stone as much as the next guy but she seems almost too young to play Liara!

  7. I beat it the day before yesterday and now I'm starting a play through on Survivor. Loved the organic feel to the story and the way it ended.

I'm glad it didn't end with the cliched "Joel dies to save Ellie".

Joel made a decision to sacrifice the many for the few and lied about it to Ellie so she wouldn't feel guilty. Really sucks that they Cordyceps vaccine could only be obtained by destroying her brain. Still not sure if Joel made the right choice, but hey at least he has something to live for now. :)

I think the biggest question is will Ellie ever be able to have children being a Cordyceps carrier.

Albert Einstein ate meats many days of his life(which was the years where he had his miracle year). It was during his elderly years that he switched to vegetarianism. Also, much of Albert Einstein's work involved combining two equations that were developed by other physicists(hence he worked in a patent office being able to access most of the material that came in there, he had access to much of the information there. If he didn't work in a patent office, he wouldn't have become the "genius" that is still known today.   For Leonardo Da Vinci, there is creative genius and intelligent genius. Creative genius? Yes. Intelligent genius? No. Most of his designs, as some seem to make misconceptions of, were merely ideas. In fact, most of his designs did not work, only modified later on to make them work.   Most of the equations and theoretical models that Nikola Tesla brought out were from Michael Faraday's equations developed way before Tesla's time(as many seem to forget to talk about). It was Michael Faraday who discovered electromagnetic induction, which Tesla did use many of his inventions.

Are you seriously trying to downplay the achievements of these three men just to prove a point? Here are some more I guess.

Sir C.V. Raman, Indiant Physicist; 1930 Nobel Laureate in Physics

Linus Pauling, American Quantum Chemist and Biochemist; 1954 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and 1962 Nobel Laureate in Peace

    Srinivasa Ramanujan, Indian Mathematician

Look, I get that essential nutrients can be found in meat but those can all be obtained from other sources as well. I checked out your link and couldn't think of a single thing.

I shall leave you to your own ignorance.

You couldn't even spell "analyst" right.

  9.

Notice how all the greatest scientists in the world eat meat? If you can find one that does not, please post his or her name.

Leonardo Da Vinci, Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein

Also, screw you. My brain is functions perfectly normally and I don't appreciate you insinuating vegetarians don't have properly developed minds.

  10.

Theres no exceptions to this. Theres no getting around the hard factual knowledge that animal protein is required to be fully healthy.

You're wrong. There are plenty of exceptions to this. You don't know what you're talking about.

    Iron deficiency

As somebody that gets his iron levels checked twice a week (I sell plasma) I can safely say you're wrong. Spinach contains lots of iron. So do beans and many other easily accessible food sources. If anything vegetarians need to be concerned about getting vitamin B-12, which I happen to get from cheese and eggs.

    Problems gaining muscle mass.

We have no problem gaining muscle mass. Meat eaters can have the exact same problem. You're misinformed.

So if you can find exceptions to this, be my guest, but you'll be VERY hard pressed to do so. Again, im not trying to convince anybody anything, just.... stating... facts.

I found exceptions to all of these and it was easy. I didn't even have to look because most of this is common knowledge. Your "facts" are not "facts". Vegetarians cut out the middle man to get our nutrition. If anything we're more efficient.

  11.

So, basically, you want to allow them to go extinct? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I'm getting from what you're saying.

Nah, smaller amounts can be kept on farms for eggs and dairy in humane conditions. At least in the scenario I'm talking about.

It was relevant to my rebuttal.

Okay. I agree that humans have the potential to be omnivorous. That doesn't make me an omnivore though.

Anyway, I just got off work and am starving. Time to make a make a fajita and then go hunting in the woods for Morel mushrooms!

  12.

I still don't seem to be understanding. What is going to happen to the animals in the end? Not speaking from an immediate change, eventually, if everyone were to stop eating meat gradually, when that day comes, what happens to the animals?

Not everybody would stop eating meat at once. They'd either be eaten by those that still want to or die of natural causes. But less and less would need to be bred each time, resulting in livestock being phased out.

Again, you can deny it all you want. You're still, by nature, an omnivore. Yes, all human beings are omnivores. It's something that's definitive of us as a species. You can feed a rat all the meat it can stomach. That doesn't make it a carnivore just because you've changed its diet.

Semantics = The Study of Meaning. There is no point in arguing over interpretation of the word "omnivore".

Okay, but what's more worth his time? Trying different foods over months, maybe years, to find out exactly what it was in the meat that his system needed? All the while, he's in and out of hospitals with his health suffering for it? Or going directly to the one thing they know works for him so he can recover quickly? I mean, this is a no-brainer, to me.

    This isn't hard...

  13.

I don't feel that you've adequately addressed how my thinking is flawed. Again, I must ask, who is going to keep animals that aren't providing any product, thus, not providing any money on a commercial farm?

Again, it's called phasing it out. You're making it sound like this is something that would happen overnight.

Simply saying that you are or are not something doesn't make it so. I could say that I'm not white and that I'm actually black until I'm blue in the face. No amount of stating that will make it true. You cannot will away the fact that human beings are omnivores. Unless you're saying you're not human, either, but then we have the exact same problem.

Semantics. Will it away? I am a human being. I am not an omnivore. Therefore not all human beings are omnivores. Catch my drift?

after eating meat again, the problems got better.

You mean after eating something that was in the meat he felt better. There is nothing we find in meat that we can't find in other sources.

  14. Yeah, so why are you still trying to force your vegetarian crap on us?.. Just let it go and accept that we eat meat, and keep the vegetarien stuff to yourself. because frankly, we dont give a flying phuck..

No. The whole point of this thread is to give reasons why people should consider going veggie. If you truly don't care, stop replying.

  15.

The simple fact is, to lead a fully and truly healthy life we must eat the plants, and slaughter innocent animals so that we can also eat meat. its that simple.

I'm leading a fully and truly healthy life and I don't eat meat. Your simple "fact" is not in fact a fact. It is an opinion. The actual fact is you can lead a fully and truly healthy life without eating meat because I'm doing it right now.

You say that not eating meat will make you miserable but I doubt you've never gone more than a week without. On the other hand I've experienced both situations and can say with certainty that this aspect of diet has nothing to do with happiness.

theres no morality issues that should stem from eating meat

Yeah... the Korean dog trade would like to have a word with you. I can't link directly to it because it's NSFW.

I personally couldn't go without meat, it is just too good. If I had to get rid of meat, then I would eat fish like crazy.

Fish is meat. If you got rid of meat you'd have to get rid of fish.

I started eating a mostly Afghan diet after a few months and I saw and felt results immediately. They also have a bland, yogurt-like substance from goat or camel milk. Strange, but good with salt on top or mixed with curry. (I know, trust me on this)   But don't get me wrong, Afghan Goat is delicious!

Sweet, somebody that's tried both diets. Was it hard at first to eat minimal amounts or was the food balanced enough that it didn't matter?

Vegetarians that think everyone should be Vegetarian are stupid.

  16. First, what do you think is going to happen to all the animals if everyone stops eating meat?

I'm not asking everyone to stop eating meat all at once. Your view of the scenario is flawed from the start, but I'll address it anyway. You're thinking in the short term. This is like saying you continue to smoke because you haven't used up all of your cigarettes. Only in this case the cigarettes are constantly banging and making more cigarettes because you breed them in a controlled environment.

We have a large amount of control over the number of animals bred. Don't act like we're doing the world a favor by keeping livestock.

Again, it sounds far-fetched, but if we were to stop eating meat and "liberate the animals," is it really?

You're right, this scenario is far-fetched. It is also not my scenario. My scenario involves breeding less animals to begin with. This would slowly phase out the large number of livestock.

Third, do you know how much carnage a combine harvester can leave in its wake? Cuz it's a lot. And the crappy thing is, we don't even use those animals for anything.

This is a good point! Finally, something I had to pause and think about. Anyway, this sounds like a separate issue to me. You should make a new topic about it.

Fourth, humans are omnivores. We do need meat.

    Hey Circadian? wacko.png

    Yeah Other Circadian? smile.png

    Are you an omnivore? derpy_emoticon1.png

Why no Circadian, I'm not. huh.png

But you need to eat meat! wacko.png

Why no Circadian, I don't think I do. I feel and look much better than before and my doctor says I'm at a perfectly healthy weight. The consumption of meat is absolutely not necessary to survive. yay.png

My best friend's boyfriend's family used to be vegetarian. Then her boyfriend's brother started to become very thin, sick and weak. It turns out that he wasn't getting proper nutrition that a diet containing meat would provide. He had some problems with his health that the lack of meat was greatly exacerbating. Since then, the family had started eating meat again, and the brother's health greatly improved. Additionally, since her boyfriend has a high metabolism, he was really underweight at that time. Since he started eating meat again, he's at more normal weight.

Sound like they were doing it wrong. Anybody that has health problems from being a veggie isn't eating the right things. I'll admit I initially lost a bunch of weight when I made switch, but I've since put back on what I lost. Now I'm sitting at just below where I was almost two years ago.
