male Earth Pony Equestrian flag waving on a post(like the picture below but not quite) https://buffy.mlpforums.com/993567643ead5c57538a3c40762c46e6.pngVery mild-mannered
He is generally very quiet, not necessarily because he is shy, but because he does not have much to say. He usually tends to just do.
Although he is somewhat of a nerd, his intelligence remains in about the just slightly above average level. He tends to be stronger in wisdom than knowledge
Despite being very quiet and somewhat of an introvert, he tends to be optimistic
He is very tolerant kind and compassionate, and rather than boss people he tends to submit to others, a fact of which other ponies sometimes take advantage.
It is extremely hard to get him to lose his temper and he doesn't get annoyed easily.(unless it involves River)
One of his quirks is that he occasionally has moments where he gets obsessive with something that he is doing.
He often works alone, but does not mind being on a team, as long as he doesn't have to be in charge.
He doesn't do a good job with leading because he doesn't like telling others what to do and sometimes lets others get away with things because he is afraid to tell them otherwise.
He enjoys things like music and nature, he has a thing for trench coats and cowboy hats, and he is very patriotic.
Likes: injustice, enslavement, tyranny, swearing, and unnecessarily loud musicPatterson's parents ran a mission for helping the ponies in Saddle Arabia, as it was a harsh land where supplies were scarce. They would hand out any supplies that they could spare, but sometimes they would come close to running out of supplies. As he grew up, his family got to a fairly large size, causing them to become even more needy.
In his schooling, Pat enjoyed learning about Equestria, and how it became the great country it is now. As he learned more, especially things like the take-over of the Crystal Empire, he began to really appreciate his freedom, and felt bad for those who weren't so lucky. He became quite patriotic, to the point that rest of his family would sometimes poke fun at him for his enthusiasm for Equestria and his freedom. However his mindset ended up leading to his cutie mark which stood for his patriotism. His siblings didn't make fun of him much more after that.
One day, Pat was sent out very early in the morning, to scare away some coyotes that were rummaging through their garbage in the back alley. While scaring them away though, he caught a glimpse of something moving within a large cardboard box in back of a neighbor's house. After the coyotes were gone, he went back to the box, opened it up and bent down to look in, and inside there was a unicorn filly, who was scared out of her wits. He tried to talk to her, but she wouldn't say anything, so he just coaxed her soothingly. At first she cautiously approached him, and then she suddenly clung to him as if she immediately trusted him. He could see by the way that she crawled that something was wrong with her back legs, and since she was sleeping outside, he figured that she didn't belong to the neighbors. So he carried her home to see what his parents could do about her.
They found out later that her back legs were paralyzed, and they couldn't do anything about that, but they decided to keep her since alot of other ponies either wouldn't want, or just couldn't keep another mouth to feed, especially if they couldn't help back. Pat pretty much took responsibility for her upon himself, especially since from then on she would always follow him almost everywhere, and Pat would always be there to help her out when needed. They gave her the name River Serene, because of her mane and coat colors. She didn't speak for a quite a while, but when she finally did speak to Pat, she spoke pretty well. Pat became almost like a father to her, and he learned alot about responsibility, and yet they were still more like best friends. River seemed to be unable to perform any other magic spells besides telekinesis, but she did appear to be more powerful in this aspect.
Patterson's family, later, finally decided that they really needed to move back to their hometown, the city of Manehatten, because they had a big family to support now. Once they finally got there, and moved into their new home, they were finally able to get a wheelchair for River, and Patterson took up the art of fighting with the bostaff as means of self defense. From then on they lived a pretty normal life. River never stopped hanging around Pat, and Pat never stopped feeling responsible for her. They even moved to Hoofington together, and are almost always seen together.
Pat became known in Hoofington as a self-appointed unofficial keeper-of-the-peace in the town, however, officially he is a tanker wagon driver in the local fire company
Talents/Abilities: Patterson Tacitus is adept, and almost masterful in the bostaff fighting style, as well he is a professional singer and pianist.
