Paladin Butters 163 June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 (edited) I've noticed tons of Moderators probably realizing that they've most likely had to answer the same question for more than once and no matter how many threads they close for "Being whatever already" and so on.. To end your troubles why not make a Catagorie that's stated "Guides & Tutorials" So players who want a Guide how to use the forum it's there, and if they want to learn simple HTML and there's a tutorial for it go there. ECT... Comments? EDIT: Any thread created would be done by the community. Edited June 1, 2014 by Paladin Butters 1 Find Me @ YouTube: Here
SCS 7,537 June 1, 2014 Share June 1, 2014 We have multiple resources like this already available, such as the FAQ, the Help Files, the Resource Map, and various pinned topics around the forum. Additionally, people can search through old threads in the Site Questions section to find answers they can't find elsewhere. Therefore, I don't think a Tutorials forum section would be needed. If all else fails, people can post a new topic in Site Questions, PM a staff member, send in a support ticket, or email support@mlpforums.com. Do you have any suggestions for how we can add to those? I'm able to add/edit/etc FAQ articles as needed, and I can edit the Resource Map. You'd need an admin to edit the Help Files.
Paladin Butters 163 June 1, 2014 Author Share June 1, 2014 (edited) In retrospect if you want people that are 13+ on a webpage to see easy enough they don't have to search for those things; I did, whenever a Web Page is made you want to make it breathable this site is anything but.. took me a while to understand everything here. EDIT: I don't mean that in a bad way, bright colors lure the eyes away, plus you wouldn't need a FAQ if there was a tutorial made by a player explaining it with pictures rather than making mods or an admin update a certain page. That's just me.. Edited June 1, 2014 by Paladin Butters 1 Find Me @ YouTube: Here

That's just me.. I'm confused. Is this a forum, that has users, or a video game, that has players? x) I've been severely misinformed if it's the later. As far as site information goes... Eh. Finding the magical middle ground of 'oh, things are easy to find' vs 'things don't look boring as all hell with nothing to catch the eye from the average site' is a hard medium to hit. Your opinion is certainly valid, just as those who would say the contrary are. As for what I think, I think we have plenty of resources around, most of which that SCS listed; I'm all for finding a way to make them all more publicly and immediately visible, but I do not feel it worth our time to try to and scrap, rebuild, merge, recreate or otherwise overhaul our support and info system on a whim x) We've got the info, in spades, it's just a question of organization. That said, from header links that people shouldn't be ignoring seeing as they're big, obvious buttons that say such things as 'help', 'community', etc, pinned topics, announcements and many other links and notices in key locations, I'm really not sure just how much simpler we can make finding info, for people. Outside maybe little sporadic pop up windows saying things like, 'LOST, CONFUSED? HERE, TAKE A GANDER HERE, FRIEND 8D', that won't go away until you click x, after having viewed it for at least ten seconds :3 As far as non-site related tutorials and guides go... We've got numerous of those around, and anything art-related of that nature has its' own forum practically in Creative Resources Anything else is found in places like General or Media discussion. A few are pinned, some aren't. A section could work, theoretically.
Paladin Butters 163 June 2, 2014 Author Share June 2, 2014 As foreign as this may seem I've never once noticed that help tab till after you mentioned it. Anyways when the next mod reads this please lock it. Find Me @ YouTube: Here
kelseymarie805 301 June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 That's a great idea! I think it would be really nice to see a whole forum page dedicated to tutorials, seeing as a lot of people like to view/post them, and then it would make things like that a lot easier to find. Here's a HUGE thank you to the make of this gorgeous signature!!
