Music for New MLP Indie Game(?)

Itsy Bitsy Alex

So I was approached about composing some tracks for a new MLP themed indie game. So far I have two demo tracks finished. A sort of pop like remix of Friendship is Magic (MLP Theme Song), and a jazzy menu screen, which I want to do a little more work on, but as of now, you can see the point I'm trying to get with it.

Here are the tracks (yet to be sent to the creator):

Friendship is Magic Short Remix.mp3

Menu Theme Demo.mp3

Feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks! ^^

Did you just say.... Feedback?!  :D

Okay, lemme plug in my 'phones.

---EDIT---

First off, I'm not sure what game it is/what style of music it requires, so if I'm giving feedback that will actually harm rather than help, ignore it.

Menu Theme Demo

Nice loop going on, not too simple, not too complex. One thing I would recommend is that you make the vibraphone/xylophone a little more "present," however if you do that, it may result in the song having too much emphasis in the highs section, so if that does happen, I'd recommend eqing them as well.

Friendship is Magic Short Remix

I am digging this man, but there's an issue. The snare is being drowned out by the lead synth, starting at 0.17. I'd suggest either turning down the synth or adding compression to the snare to make it more "present."

By the way, I didn't really understand compression until I saw this video, so if you don't quite understand it... enjoy!

Thanks a lot! I really don't know myself as to what kind of music the game needs. These were tests to show my "talents" to the creator. These tracks aren't even finished yet. But I'm getting a few more FL Studio plugins when I move to my new place, so I'll be messing around with those as well as the instruments I'm currently using in the Menu Theme (Fun Fact: Those instruments are ripped straight from Banjo-Kazooie).

Once again, thank you for your feedback! I hope to see you around the forums ^^

Oh, if you haven't (since you're using FL), remove the limiter off of the master track(It'll help with headroom, trust me), and make sure that the master doesn't peak 0dB. (I usually do -6dB, per advice from a friend).

I hope to see you around on the forums as well :)

Okay, here's some feedback.

Opening Theme: Sounds a little TOO repetative. To give it some variace, try adding some filter sweeps or mellow sweeps that sweep that sharp sawtooth from a mellow to a bright or from a filter to an open space. You started with it, but try a desending sweep in the middle of the piece after a certain number of repeats (I would suggest after 16 measures) Also, you could add a very subtle flanger, which can rid some of the dryness. I like the power and intensity of the percussion, but try adding some fill-ins so it won't be that repetative, maybe some 16th descending synth-tom fills might work. It's a good start but it could always be better.

Menu Theme: That Tamborine is a little too loud. Lower the resonance and increase the volume of the vibraphone. Since this is going to be looped, add a fill-in at a certain point so that it wouldn't be the same thing and people have something to look forward too. Also, a soft warm pad with an Ab half-diminished chord would sound pretty cool with it to give a little sinister feeling.

So there's my feedback. Hope you take this into consideration.

Congratulations man! I'm glad you got the position. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much! ^^ I'm going to be posting another track here in a matter of moments if you want to check it out.

This is a track I just sent to the director. He has yet to listen to it, but He said this is the style he'd most likely be going with.
