A butterfly flew in through the window and landed on Riley's nose. "Oh, butterfly, you so craaazy!" he said merrily. He fluttered his wings and lifted off the ground.

 

"Look at me, I'm a little red butterfly!" said Riley drunkenly, as he flew around before flying into the wall.

Skyla was completely and utterly bored. She took her eyes off the sky and walked to the nearest window, looking in just as the red pony crashed into the wall. She winced, wondering how many times he'll do that before passing out.

 

She thought about going back inside. She didn't want to leave, she didn't want to upset anyone. Gathering up her courage, she walked back into the house and sat in a corner.

Riley watched as the pruple Pegasus mare walked back inside. He stumbled over to her.

 

"Hiya, missy!" he said in his slurred voice once again.

 

Then after a brief pause, he reached his hooves out and grabbed both of her buttocks. "Ah, what lovely muffin tops."

Skyla pushes him away. "Back off," she says quickly. She didn't want to hurt his feelings, but she didn't want to be uncomfortable either. She quickly walks outside yet again. She was blushing bright red and was pretty embarrased.

 

Once outside, she takes to the sky and lands on a cloud nearby.

"Aw, what's the matter, honey?" asked Riley, as he flew up (with his skewed co-ordination) and followed Skyla.

 

He was in her sight, waving with a dopey grin, for just a few seconds before his forgot to use his wings and ended up plummeting to the ground beneath him.

Skyla winced as she watched him plummet to the ground. She ignored his question and flew back down to the ground and helped him up. Even though he had embarrased her, she wasn't a mean-spirited pony.

 

She started hovering a foot above the ground after helping him up, and kept a little distance from him.

"Thank ya kindly, lady!" said Riley drunkenly as the Pegasus mare helped him back up. Stars were spinning around his head, very much like in a cartoon.

 

"We checked yours, now let's compare."

 

He turned around so that his posterior was facing Skyla. "How does my rump look, eh? Want a feel?"

"Uh, no," Skyla said bluntly. She wanted to go home, but she thought it would be rude to leave early.

 

She flew a couple inches away from him and looked at him. "I'm not rating your buttocks. Frankly, I'm pretty uncomfortable right now. I haven't blown you off yet because I don't want to be rude," she said.

Riley looked at Skyla. "Did you say you feel uncomfortable?" he said. "Nothing like a lovely, comfortable chair to solve that!"

 

Being in a city, they happened to be near a trash tip. Riley picked Skyla up and put her down in a couch that was peeling away, and had springs sticking out of it.

Skyla flew up out of the couch and facehoofed.

 

Pretty sure he didn't catch any of that, she thought to herself.

 

"First off all, this is a couch, not a chair. Second, it's not very comfortable either, considering that it's in the trash, it's rotting away, and the springs are out of place," she said.

"Hm... I think you're right," said Riley. He rummaged through the pile and took out a hammer which was badly chipped.

 

"Stand back! The construction men are working here!" he chirped, and whacked the couch with the hammer over and over.

 

"All fixed!" he said, throwing the hammer aside.

Skyla facehoofed again.

 

"I'm still not sitting in it," she said. "In fact, you made it worse than it already was."

 

She looked at the couch, the springs were bent in odd directions, and most of the upholstery was torn from it.

 

She touched a spring tentatively, it was sharp and a little rusted. "Yeah, no."

Riley touched a spring, and hastily recoiled upon realising how sharp and rusty it was.

 

"Looks like you're right. Ah, well. At least we tried."

 

He emptied his vodka container onto the couch, then lit a match and threw it at the couch.

 

He began to drunkenly sing 'Burn Baby Burn'.

Skyla flew a foot away from the couch and shook her head. At this rate, he'll burn down a building, she thought. She quickly flew inside, grabbed a couple bottles of water from the fridge, flew back, and dumped the water on the fire.

 

"Geez, don't set a building on fire," she said.

Riley smelt smoke, and his rear end felt oddly warmer. He looked behind him to see that his tail was on fire.

 

He giggled. "My tail looks much cooler now!"

 

...

 

"Wait a minute. AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Celestia is burning me! Whatever did I do to deserve such a cruel fate?!"

 

He ran around in circles, screaming.

Skyla shook her head yet again. She quickly few back to the house again, grabbed another bottle of water, flew back, and dumped the water on his tail.

 

"Don't set your tail on fire too. Also, I'm pretty sure Celestia isn't burning you," she said. "I'm pretty sure Celestia would be here if she was burning you."

"Well, you never know, she could be our stalker," said Riley. "Every waking moment, it is vital that you be on the lookout, otherwise doughnuts will take over the world and make us slaves to the people of the frosty chocolate milkshake land... with sprinkles."

Skyla stared blankly at him.

 

"Doughnuts won't take over the world and make us slaves, they're doughnuts for Celestia's sake!" she said. "Sweets and desserts are not going to take over the world, they're not living, and what does that have to do with Celestia burning your tail?" she asked.

"Of course it's possible! Anything is possible!" said Riley, waving his hooves about. "Which is why you have to be absolutely sure you know what you're doing."

 

He grabbed an empty milk carton and held it up in front of Skyla. "Tell me, what does this look like to you?"

"A milk carton," Skyla said. "A milk carton that looks exactly the same as other milk cartons in the trash."

 

Is he seriously going to give me a lecture that desserts are going to take over the world? she thought to herself.

 

"The milk carton is not going to come alive," she said.

Skyla was allowed to say "A milk car-" before Riley cut her off mid-sentence.

 

"Nonono, stop!" said Riley. He breathed slowly through his nose. "Think very, very carefully about your answer, Skyla. It could determine the fate of the entire universe."

Skyla stared blankly at him again.

 

"It's a regular milk carton...," she said. "It's not going to determine the fate of the universe. A milk carton can't come to life, if that's what you're thinking."

 

She pointed to another milk carton in the trash. "It looks exactly like that one."

A horrified look washed over the intoxicated stallion's face. He grabbed Skyla by the shoulders. "Stop, stop, STOP!" he cried, shaking her frantically. He then allowed himself a few seconds to calm down. "You'll kill us all with your insanity..." he whispered.

Skyla facehoofed at the insanity part.

 

"I'm not the one who drank too much," she told him. "I didn't drink anything at the party."

 

"Also, I'm not going to kill everypony with my so-called insanity, it's a milk carton. Milk cartons can't walk, or fly, or hurt anyone," she said.

Riley stopped. He just stood there for about ten seconds, a blank expression on his face.

 

The alcohol had worn off. He saw Skyla standing in front of him. "Hello, miss," he said, in a normal, sober voice. "Would you happen to know where I am?"
