Cyber-attacks

Today we live in a world where the internet plays a big role in the society. Every day there are tons of cyberattacks attacking companies, random people or governments to steal information and all kinds of stuff. I'm wondering, how do you feel about this? The attacks are getting more and more advanced, who knows what people will be able to do in the future? I saw something on tv where one of the best hackers in the world (who works for the good, luckily) showed that it actually is possible to hack cars. Electronics in general are getting more advanced and I wouldn't be surprised if we'd see people hacking cars in maybe just 10 years.

All these cyberattacks to steal information has lead to a lot of suspicion. I think that it's just a matter of time before we'll see a real big "cyberwar" between countries.

This website shows you a map of the world and different cyberattacks that takes place. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but you can read on their website about it.

How do you feel about cyberattacks? Do you not care about it or are you worried in some way? How do you think it will look like in maybe... let's say 15 years?

It's very dangerous due to the fact that tons of information gets lost and much identity theft occurs.

I'm worried because considering I'm only dabbing a bit in the network business. I feel that eventually one of the top countries will start going after other countries using much more lethal methids of cyberwarfare such as attacking power and even wrecking more volitile forms of business just ruin a country's infastructure. Cyberwarfare will innovate war the way nukes had done in my opinion.

I am a bit worried as well actually. Ever heard of Stuxnet? Watch this.

I believe this is the future of what we call cyberwar

Ooh, just my kind of topic!

I'm actually going to school to get my degree in Cyber Intelligence and Security. Basically, I'll be the guy fighting all these cyber-attacks.   Personally, I say bring it on. Cyberwarfare (to a point) seems "safer" than person-to-person military action. And anyway, our world is becoming digital, so why not take the fight there?

That's the future I'm worried for, and when such attacks happen in the U.S, literal anarchy will happen.

While the worst is certainly possible, sometimes the worst is overplayed. Looking at various docu-dramas you see on History Channel and Discovery Channel, you'd think that worst case scenarios are the most likely possibility; and YouTube channels don't always help in that regard either.

I'm not really worried myself. Anything can happen, but I do have belief in our system. Things go wrong, but we learn from those experiences.

this just came out...I like how this guy applies game stuff to the real world. Of course, that's what Game Theory is about....

I know the potential that cyber attacks could do, but this video just made me outright terrified because basically, it's not just computers or the grid...it's ANYTHING that has a chip in it...and sadly, humans are developing and getting these chips...

We should probably not be too concerned. If it were to happen, I'm sure, we'd be done for before we even realize it. Rationally thinking I'd say it will only take a few more years, if it's not already at this stage, until things get dangerous for everyone.

It's not that much dangerous. There are always people telling such things to scare you. And it need to be a very strange car if it can be hacked. Very unlikely. :P
