Beach Party Bash!

"That's neat" she said with a smile "I have only known Anala and Riley for a short time and I think I was invited on short notice but I had nothing going on so why not come and party it up" Spacer said. "So you paint huh? What do you like to paint? I have a couple of friends that do that too."

She was surprised to see a painter at a party. It was actually kind of cool.

"Me and Riley are best friends he introduced me to to Anala."She said lookinv at them then back to her."Oh I paint many things many styles, I do not sell them though, at least not some of them, I usally give them away for free to be genourous."She looked over and grabbed her now dry picture.She folded up the eisle and put it in her sadle bag.She smiled going back and showing her the picture she drew of the ocean.

'I've been great, Drawn!' Aero replied. 'I'm currently focusing my research on the ways clouds react to being struck by pegasi. Haven't made any big discovery yet, but I have noticed some odd characteristics when the clouds are struck in windy conditions... sorry, I'm rambling too!' Aero followed his last comment with a quick chuckle.

 

Aero turned to Missy when Drawn introduced her. 'No, I haven't met her before.' Aero held out a hoof, ready to shake hooves with her. 'Hi! My name's Aero. I'm a meteorologist.'

 

Missy hesitated and looked him over, he seemed friendly enough.

"Hello, my name is Missy Starlight... I'm from Ponyville... and I guess I'm here because I've been trying to expand my horizons and make new friends, I guess I'm doing quite well, all things considered." Missy smiled. "I was quite content just staying on my own, but since you talked to me, it's just helped me a lot..."

Spacers eyes blinked a couple times "Whoa thats really good Lexi. How long have you been painting?" Spacer asked sliding a cookie into from the table beside her in her mouth.

She smiled,"Only about a month when I got my cutiemark, actually it was an accident as I was just playinf around with paints when I made a painting noticing many people liked it I figured this was my talent."She smiled as she put the painting away carefully.She looked at the mare and walked away towards the long tables out, pulling some cookies off and numbed on them when she sat down.

Gemma glanced down to where her sister was pointing. A rather colourful gathering had begun to build along the beach, and music could be heard faintly on the wind from below. "It.. I think it's some kind of.. party?" She seemed puzzled, what were they celebrating here? It seemed kind of remote, though the beach did look pretty inviting. "You're not thinking of.." She sputtered and halted her sentence, glancing over as her sister veered off towards the gathering below. "You are. Well, I suppose we could learn to be more.. sociable." The thought nearly sickened her, after everything they'd had to deal with up until now. Reluctantly, she followed Lapis as they circled down from obove, casting shadows down upon the beach now as they neared.

Gemma swooped close to Lapis, clipping the tip of her ears with a hoof gently. "Shall we crash this party? Or play nice?" She giggled

Spacer watched  the mare walk away to get some snacks of her own. She figured she better say hi to the hosts of this party. Its been awhile since Spacer had talked to Riley and Anala so the least hse could do is say hi at least.

'Perhaps we could be friends?' Aero suggested. 'I came here for a similar reason. Out of everyone here, I only know Riley and Anala. Oh, and I know Drawn too, but I sure didn't know you would be coming to the party too, Drawn! Anyway, there's no reason the three of us can't be friends!'

Drawn nods in agreement with Aero's words. "I honestly didn't plan to come. I more, well, found myself nearby and remembered the invitation. It seems like there are many others arriving as well but, I am not terribly confident of the application of my social skills to a larger gathering of strange ponies. I admit, seeing you here is comforting and Missy has proven to be quite adept at providing comfortable and steady dialogue to raise my confidence. But, your comment on cloud reactions is intriguing and we will need to discuss this more, I thought that clouds, when struck by pegasi, puffed into harmless vapor?"

"I'm not sure about that, I don't have any friends and it's been that way for a while, but if you think we can be friends... I don't have any reason to disagree." Missy tried to remember what she learned about interacting with other ponies, closing of the eyes, the head tilt and the smile... Missy did those things in that order. 

"No wait, that's not friendly, that's flirting, too late to back out now, just keep doing that and they might not notice." Her mind told her.

'Great!' Aero exclaimed. 'Let's get started! First off, introductions. I'm a meteorologist, and Drawn's a philosopher! What do you do, Missy?'

 

Aero turned to Drawn to address his question. 'Well, I can always look into factors such as how long it takes for the cloud to turn to vapor and how much force is required to do so. Besides, clouds don't always turn into vapor; it it has a lot of water, it'll just release it as rain instead. I'll tell you more about it later.' Aero's face then lit up as he thought of an idea. 'Oh, Drawn, you have to show Missy some of your awesome illusion magic!'

Missy opened her eyes up again and returned to her normal stance.

"Good, I don't think they noticed, just keep talking like nothing's wrong." She thought to herself

"I'm an astronomer... I'm one of few working in Ponyville, while I may have a peaceful lifestyle with an unstressful job, I kind of wish I had more work to do, but this is my day off, so I came to this party... which I'm kind of uncomfortable with, as I mentioned I don't talk to too many ponies."

Drawn shrugs casually at Aero's suggestion. "I'm not sure that this is the best time for that. I was planning on holding onto it until we see what kind of entertainment starts up on that stage over there. I've found that it's impolite to make your own entertainment, fun and games superseding or preceding those of your hosts."

 

Directed at Missy he nods and says, "I know how that is, it can be hard to be comfortable around others. I try to give it a shot by just remembering that, barring truly unforseen and unique circumstances, it is a relatively harmless procedure that only rarely leads to personal injury," After a brief pause he notes, "However, that fact often seems insufficient to draw up the measure to speak. You just seemed very kind and particularly unlikely to insult or attack me in some way if I made a mistake. I followed the guidelines anyway so it all seemed to go well."

Missy giggled.
"I guess you're right..." Missy kind of shuffled her hooves on the ground and looked down at them momentarily. "Seems as though you haven't had very... pleasant experiences in this area. May I ask about them?" Missy asked, wanting to know more about this pony, he seemed really nice.

(OOC: I'm mentioning everyone in this post as a quick reminder that this RP isn't dead, since at the moment only Manonstilts, The Ponyville Critic and I are doing anything and it seems everyone else has forgotten about this.)

 

Aero nodded when Drawn explained why he shouldn't use his illusion magic next. 'That's a good point. But you have to show her sometime today! It's too awesome to not show off! Alright?'

 

Aero then listened to Drawn and Missy speak for a while. Noticing they're talking about their reluctance to speak with others due to bad social abilities, he added 'You know, for two ponies who are very apprehensive about talking to other ponies, I think you're having a really natural conversation at the moment.'

Spacer rubbed her head as the ponies she attempted to talk to weren't  answering, so she awkwardly backed away and sort of stood out in the open away from everypony else. She could hear a group of ponies conversing not too far from her talking about something along the lines of being able to have a natural conversation but she couldn't exactly hear. Trying to play it cool, Spacer wondered closer to the group acting as if she was searching for shells on the beach, hoofing at the sand from time to time making a small divot.

Missy looked at Aero with a slightly confused expression, then turned back to Drawn and she realises it.

"Oh, I didn't notice, I'm usually not so social with ponies but something about you just... excuse the pun... draws me to you." Missy said. "Maybe it's because we're both socially inept, that could be it."
