ggg-2 3,553 July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 In Hearts and Hooves Day, Applebloom states that Cheerilee has to be the one to make the first move because in her words, her brother is pretty shy. However, many future episode contradict this. To name a couple, in Filli Vanilli, Big Mac goes on stage and sings for crowds with his friends, albeit small ones, something Fluttershy had trouble with AND he took place in a turkey call contest, 7 years in a row, even. In Testing, Testing, 1...2....3, we see him doing business with Filthy Rich, the richest businessman in all of Ponyville. (although, the Apples and the Riches have been good friends....*looks at Diamond Tiara* ...ish, for about 3 generations now.) what do you think? is his shyness overstated in that episode? 1 Don't be a nerd. PoniesPlease 365 July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 I think it's a different kind of shyness. For example, I can get up on stage and feel no pressure at all, but when it comes to women, I might as well be a mute turtle.
Moonlight Magician 494 July 22, 2014 Share July 22, 2014 I don't think it's because he is shy. I think he just prefers not to talk much.

I mean, in the same episode, he's quite nervous around Cheerilee. You know, either that or he's just quiet in general that is mistranslated to shyness.
