Yami Bakura vs Twilight

Hive King

Recommended Posts

Yami Bakura has the Millenium Ring, both characters are IC. I give the edge to Yami because of the fact that if he wants, he can simply summon up a monster that sends Twilight to the graveyard. Twilight's attacks won't work too well, especially since she won't go for the kill right away and Yami Bakura is a decent magician

We're talking about this guy right:

No wait, that's not him. My mistake.

You mean this guy:

Considering I'm not familiar with his abilities, but I' am aware of how ridiculous the Yugioh monsters are (the top tiers laugh at anything Pokemon has) and if he has just even one of those, yea he should be able to defeat Twilight, especially since she'll be in character while Yami is evil (meaning he'll go for the kill), yea I go for Yami in this mu.

@@Nuke87654,

It's not Yami Bakura but in terms of magic, they are similar and near equals. Yami Bakura is actually a bit stronger magic wise as he is able to deflect MIND CRUSH!

So a bit of mind attack, possible levitation ability and we have a powerful mage that can harm and defeat Twilight. His mind attack would prove useful, especially if  Bakura is more bloodlusted than what Yami Yugi showed here.

That aside, Bakura's unique powers include the ability to look into people's souls. He was able to read Pegasus like a book with no trouble.

And Yami Yugi was giving his opponents a chance to win, Yami just straight up does this, though he does toy at points.

If worse comes to worse, Bakura does have the ability to send people to Hell if he beats them in a contest of some sort

Oh and about those vids, pretty fun to know how Yugioh is more than just one children's card game.

You might like the manga, it gets very gruesome at points. Yami Bakura licks the blood off of someone's eyeball and impales his own hand, to name some highlights

The anime is censored by comparison, but even in the English dub, people get sent to the Shadow Realm constantly and all sorts of punishment magic happens. Some fun stuff that comes to mind is one where you forget a person from your life every time you're attacked or feeling the pain of your monster cards

Even worse for Twilight.

That being said, if someone's will is strong enough, they can resist the effects of the mental attack. Joey was able to resist it, but then again, he was also able to remain standing after feeling the pain of being burnt alive

Twilight transmutes him before he draws a card. Seeing as how both characters are IC, and that's what most characters in the Yu-gi-oh universe do, and he's fighting a purple horse, it's a pretty good bet that will be his first move.

Twilight transmutes him before he draws a card.

He doesn't need to draw a card, and transmutation means nothing. The bird who got turned into an orange was still flying around just fine. It would just piss him off even more

Unless it's an instantaneous process, Yami spends his relatively short life as a breezie, or ends up staring at a rock for eternity due to the Want It, Need It spell. BTW, what's the strongest card he's ever used?

Yami Bakura was the greatest threat Yugi and company ever faced, he is cunning, sneaky and wield very dangerous ancient magic via the Millennium Ring. Twilight would be a match for him when she had the powers of the other princesses but in any other case she would be flattened. He can summon dangerous monsters, read minds, shatter peoples minds and banish people straight to hell.

Yami Bakura can resist mental attacks far better than you might think. He can resist Mind Crush, which puts you into a coma by shattering your conscious.

As for the strongest card, it's debatable if he actually used it, but since he is basically an incarnation of Zorc, I suppose Zorc is the strongest. Zorc was capable of making a solar eclipse by covering the desert in darkness and curbstomping Exodia and the  Egyptian Gods

Like I said, Yami doesn't need to draw a card, he just needs to make Twilight think she got set on fire and bash her skull in with a rock while she's busy writhing in agony. Or just send her to Hell

With a bare minimum of city level durability, Bakura doesn't have the imagination to make Twilight flinch before she lights him up.. And if your "hell" is the Shadow Realm, forgive me if i'm wrong, but doesn't that require him to move or speak, something? He only has, at most, a second before he gets lasered, so thinking is all he can do before he gets gunned down.

I fail to see how on Earth you can justify Twilight being city level. This is the same pony who had trouble fighting off an Ursa. Even being incredibly generous to her power growth, that's not city level unless she's in the realm of a 1,000x stronger

Not really. He just needs to use magic and that's it

Because I'm sure that the guy who can survive losing his torso will be wounded from her blasts

Bakura_And_Ra.png

Why do you think Twilight is faster anyway? And Twilight is rather pathetically easy to mentally manipulate, see her failure with Sombra's door trap. Bakura can easily thrust her into an illusion by reading her mind and taking advantage of that.

Bakura can also possess people, so possessing Twilight into killing herself is very possible. Also, he can seal people's souls, so putting Twilight's soul into a leaf and crushing it is possible

Final thing he can try doing is using the Millenium World to alter the past.

Wow this a topic I never would have believed existed if I hadn't seen it myself XD

I guess Yami Bakura would win, cuz he's such a tenacious and relentless villain, not to mention the fact that he has some pretty dangerous powers (not schooled too well on him tbh, I know him mostly from the 4kids Yugioh dub, so forgive me for not knowing powers he has in the manga or caring to remember half the stuff he did in the anime :P )

Technically, stronger; RD's Sonic Rainboom as a filly had enough magical energy to almost cover the whole of Equestria, but city level is enough here. She's stronger than her brother and equal to Cadence, who both have have the energy to create a dome around a city for an extended period of time. Ursa's are featless since she never physically attacked it, so good luck getting usable durability off of that.

Twilight can catch Rainbow Dash in flight... Is Bakura faster than lightning? Yu-gi-oh characters don't do to well in speed feats.

Sombra is stronger than Celestia... is Bakura Sun level now? Doesn't really matter; The Mane Six shook off Nightmare Rarity's illusion just fine.

Can he do this in a thought? Because that's all he gets.

Same as above.

Actually, Twilight is faster than human comprehension (The speed of thought is, at most, 1,100 mph) so unless you got some good speed feats here, she has the chance to try at least several dozen times before he can even think of killing her.

My point is that instead of just pushing the Ursa away or knocking it out with magical blasts, she opted to put it to sleep instead. She also admitted that she was lucky it was an Ursa Minor, implying she'd be unable to take an Ursa Major

Twilight can catch Rainbow Dash in flight... Is Bakura faster than lightning? Yu-gi-oh characters don't do to well in speed feats.

That contradicts heavily with the fact that Twilight is unable to catch Flutterbat, who is most definitely not hyper sonic

I don't think you understand how mental resistances work. A good example is Babidi from DBZ. He's weak as shit but with his mental powers, he's able to bring much stronger fighters to their knees. Bakura's illusions work the same way here.

Also, I don't believe Nightmare Rarity ever mad someone believe they were burning alive, which is a whole other ball game in terms of pain.

I could make an argument for Bakura being Sun level, he is basically Zorc reincarnated and Zorc was able to blot out the Sun and take on Ra's blasts. But I won't since that'd be heavily OP

Pretty much

So the same pony who is unable to outrun a dragon is suddenly fast as Hell?

It's safe to say that bringing in lol calcs like this are worthless since I doubt the writer actually thought about that. If I were to use lol calcs, Ra can heat up to the level of the Sun and he blasted Bakura dead on with that. Bakura survived it

lol calcs... the shortest amount of time it takes for neurons to fire in the human brain is 500ms, or around 1,200 mph. Twilight caught RD in flight in Lesson Zero, and she's fast enough to outpace lightning, so mach 300 or 228,360 mph. That's for Twilight's reaction speed, not movement speed, by the way. Now, how are these lol calcs... i'm confused.

"2. Speed calculations based on assumptions and scaling using fan made methods are banned, no exceptions.

3. Calculations for destructive capacity and strength are also banned. I don't want to see posts that say "Goku has a power of 12414524 megatons because person X calculated it." Physics doesn't work in fiction."

They are general rules used because we know that the writers didn't put half as much thought into this

Sooo... 80-90% of characters in fiction are now featless... I really don't see the point of continuing this conversation, then, since we have no methods of determining the strength of any character.

No, not really. It just means that you have to stick to solid things. If we allow lol calcs, Bakura is a sun level badass

Solid things include Twilight being able to take down Changelings, being able to levitate an Ursa, etc.

Being able to, on-screen, catch in magical stasis a character who dodged multiple lightning bolts, also on-screen? That's not hyperbole; that actually happened. That means, again, faster than human comprehension.

Then Twilight is an absolute idiot for not using this more effectively. She can't catch Garble and his gang, who are clearly not all that fast, she can't just grab the Smarty Pants doll from the chaos with her lightning speed, she can't catch Flutterbat, she is scared shitless of the Cragadile, etc.

If Twilight really is all that, then the logical conclusion is that Twilight suffers severe brain damage for never using her power correctly. Maybe a rock hit her on the head in Season 1
