planning Robots but not exactly

So here's the deal...

 

  You're in a world where every time you die, a part of you is replaced with a robotic limb. With the few that are left in the world, you have to decide if you'll keep fighting for the sake of humanity (ponymanity? You get the idea.) to which your connection with is slowly disappearing or join the rebellion which plans to turns everypony completely robotic. Or you could choose neither side but, end up becoming both of their enemies.

 

I had an idea of doing a roleplay based off of something like that. In basic, it goes like this...

 

- There are 2 groups. One that tries to save ponykind while the other believes in giving up and tries to turn everyone into robots. By killing them. Over and over.

- Everytime you die, a part of you turns robotic. Once you turn completely into a robot, you no longer function properly. (This could mean multiple things. You could try to kill everyone in sight or you end up slowly breaking down. I havent decided yet.) Regardless, both groups will try to kill you if you are spotted.

 

I wanted some more help on further fleshing out the world and such. Any ideas?

This seems interesting. I haven't joined a roleplay on the site yet, but yours might be the first.

Is this world equestria in the future? If so, we could have evil Luna and Celestia robot queens or something. I know you said that ponies die once they're all robotic, but maybe their alicorn magic stops that or something.

Or we could just have robot queens that were never Celestia or Luna or Cadance or Twilight. Because robot queens are simply wonderful.

That's just what I think though ^^ your thoughts on it?

Maybe you could add a malevolent race of mechanical ponies that gather corpses and revive them, but at the same time replace their unsavable parts. Then they return them to civilization covertly, so that regular ponykind goes into panic. Then there will be those ponies that believe this to be a sort of enlightenment. Maybe there would be one evil pony that made the robot thing first?

 

You could have the story being that mechanical parts are used to keep ponies alive, but as they weren't part of their nature, it curses them or turns them evil. Perhaps the mechanical ponies may feel prejudice and loathing from normal ponies and seek to turn them all, by force.

 

Sorry if some of this may sound like just a repeat, but I tried giving a few plot details.

Who replaces and how are limbs and parts replaced? It's understandably if you go a little bit nuts, but to really loose your biological consciousness, I suppose the brain needs to be replaced, allowing the Replacer to mess with your personality. So, the apparently good guys are the Replacers, but they will have most likely an own agenda. It also sounds a bit Dark Soulish, as in the progress of hollowing out. Nevertheless, I am in!
