Birthday notifications

I was looking for this topic, but I don't think there is one so I decided to make it.

 

Well, yes, I know, friends should remember each other's birthday, but for example I have REALLY BAD date memory and there is no way I could memorize it. Then... why not adding notifications about friend's birthday so that nobody will forget about this day that is pretty important to some people? I use IP board theme in general and from what I see in this theme birthdays are limited to five people in that panel on right side on forums, so, well... not everyone can be included there. What do You think about such idea? Should birthday notifications be included on forums?

Well, facebook already does it. Unless ipboard does not have an addon that allows it, I see no reason why you could not add birthdays of those on your friends list as toggelable options in the notification center on your profile.

Yes please! The only way to know who has his birthday today is here: http://mlpforums.com/calendar/2-events/day-2014-8-1 where there're plenty of inactive members. (we can't even access it on mobile...)

Well you actually can view all the users whose birthdays it is, though it is usually unnecessary as they are all inactive, as the 5 usernames down the right of the forums only ever consist of one to three active users. 

 

Anyway, I think that a notification which reminds friends of users whose birthday it is, is a good idea. It would be really worth considering, and I would definitely back this idea.

You can only really see if it's someones birthday if your looking. I think this is a great idea! So, you see birthdays of people your friend with, right? Yep, that would be nice, so if it's a friends b-day they can get a bunch of 'Happy Birthday' posts on their wall... This needs to happen!

Do it before my birthday, it's on the 11th of August. xD

I know this thread is a couple years old, but I also know that MLPForums prefers necroposting to duplicate topics, so yeah.

 

Anyway, is this still something that might be possible? I think it would be very helpful since I'm often forgetting friends' birthdays. I use the mobile site so it's difficult for me to check the panel on the side.
