A Day In Gender-Swapped Ponyville (RP)

Rilea unfurled the picnic blanket.

 

"So, what'd we pack?" asked Aidan. He tipped the basket upside down, allowing the contents to fall out onto the mat.

 

Rilea slowly facehoofed. "Aidan." She loved him, but he could be so disregardful of manners. "I've told you this when you were a colt, and I'll say it again: Manners cost nothing."

 

Aidan groaned. "Stop being so pedantic. You sound like my two older sisters."

 

Rilea shook her head. "Hmm... did I remember those cupcakes from Bubble Berry?"

 

"Dear Solaris, those are gooood..."

Alex sighed as he walked down the road looking around Ponyville.He waved to some ponies and continued on his search for something fun or new friends to make.He rounded the corner and looked more,"Hm, I was certain some ponies would be around here, maybe ill check some where else"

Star Player stood behind the corner of a building. He whistled to the tune of a song that was stuck in his head. Ponyville. A new town with new things. A fresh start. Good thing that no one knew him here because that would make things a whole lot easier once things got started. He rubbed his fore hooves together and trotted out into the center of Ponyville.

Storm Singer was busy at work clearing clouds overhead in Ponyville, oblivious to the happenings below her. She decided that she'd head down for some food when she finished.

 

Lucky Seven woke up and headed to Sugarcube Corner for breakfast, adjusting her har as she left with her muffins and cocoa.

Once again, Binding Thread found himself in Ponyville. A typical trip doing typical work, selling accessories from his hometown around Ponyville like he did back home. And first and foremost on the mind was family. Grandpa's health came first, and later he was going to check on how he was doing once the day of business and enjoying the sights and atmosphere of Ponyville was done.

 

In all actuality, Thread wished that this was all he had to think about.

 

His good friend Gail Force had once again grown tired of the cycle of big city life and needed a change of scenery. She couldn't really afford anything on her own, so out of the kindness of Binding Thread's heart he offered her this trip to Ponyville. Needless to say, he's beginning to have second thoughts.

 

"What is this place?" questioned Gail. "What am I supposed to do here? I haven't been here since, like, forever! I can't stand by and take up alternate side parking all day while you go about your business! Doing nothing is for home! When I go to a place, I wanna do something!" ranted Gail as they went from the train station to the town square.

 

"Well, for starters, you've gotta be more social. This is a very social town here. You can't get anywhere or do anything if you don't open up!" Binding Thread rebuffed.

 

Gail Force was a bit dumbstruck. She should know more about this place than I do, and she leaves me to fend for myself? she thought to herself, as Binding Thread started setting up shop near the town square.

 

Now to fill up this day...

Star Player kept going. He knew no one would know him here, but he couldn't help feel like maybe he was being watched. He noticed across town, there was a shop being set up. He had spare time and he didn't normally see something like this. It was kind of like a lemonade stand without the lemonade. He trotted over to see what it had for sale.

Evening dragged her little brother away from sugarcube corner ((is it called that here?)) "but I neeeeed theem" he said in between tears "you've already had thirteen today, you don't need anymore of bubble berry's cupcakes" evening said "and stop with this crying. you're a full grown stallion, now start acting like it!"

Ponyville may not be home for Gail and Thread, but they found themselves in familiar territory.

 

Gail Force just didn't have any idea what to do. So she just stood there, seeing ponies going about their day, longing to be a part of something but not interested in being a part of their lives. Gail Force was always a mare on an island, in more ways than one. She didn't like being that all the time, but it's better than being mare of the hour.

 

At home, she kept to herself, mainly because only freaks and outsiders don't keep to themselves back home. But there was a certain something about this town -- it was like culture shock. Everyone here seemed nice. Too nice. I'm in another world here. Ponies shouldn't look this friendly.

 

For Binding Thread, Ponyville was familiar in fact. He had been there many times before. He always knew it as a good place to make a few nice sales, even with the stiff competition from the much larger and locally-known Carousel Boutique. He knew, however, that his sales instinct would see him through even the toughest of times.

 

Right now, he watched the Ponyville center like a hawk, looking for the most likely candidates to make a sale of some nice clothes to. He took a look over at a white unicorn stallion who seemed interested in checking out the shops.

 

He studied his behavior and waited for the chance to put his sales techniques to work...

"c'mon sis, if you let me go ill buy you something from the boutique" rain bargained "you don't have that much money" evening replied "true, what abooooout" rain said, looking around "something from that pony there?" he pointed to binding thread "hmmm... okay" evening let go of her brother and the two began trotting towards the stallion

Easier for Binding Thread, it looked like he didn't have to do much to get himself his first sale, as he had heard the conversation between this red stallion and his blue sister with a trained ear and a distinct focus.

 

He saw their interested look as they approached, and composed himself, ready to make a sale.

 

"Hi, I'm Binding Thread. What may I help you with today?"

"I would like whichever dress she picks out" rain replied "and I would like that one" evening said, pointing to a dark blue and aqua dress. it was fairly simple, but she liked the colour choices.

 

(Gonna go to bronyCAN all day today, Can't wait!)

Binding Thread took an interest in their color choice. He could only think of how much more he could get them into.

 

"That's a nice choice! I'd like to let you know that I do embroidery and sequins, too, for just 3 bits extra, apiece. Oh, and you can't forget shoes. Would you like some shoes? I have plenty of them!"

"Hmm, I am planning on going to a fancy party later" evening said "as long as I get cupcakes, just make sure I have money left over to buy them" her brother said "it's only three bits, I'm sure you can manage" evening told rain "I'd like sequins and shoes please" she told binding

Alex walked around the corner seeing three ponies.He wondered what was going on there but right before he walked out he noticed Sugar Cube Corner.Knowing Bubble Berrys cupcakes was delicious, he decided to go there instead.He trotted to Sugar Cube Corner smiling happily.

Star Player walked up to the small store set up in Ponyville. There was already a pony there ordering a dress.

 

"Hmm. A fashion shop." Star Player muttered. He trotted up to the shop and stared down at the pony working there.

"Excuse me, but do you happen to have a nice yellow bow tie perhaps?" He asked a light smooth voice.

Three customers immediately after opening up shop. Binding Thread felt like the most popular pony in his business around there, that is, if he could ever compete head-on with Elusive's Carousel Boutique.

 

That, however, would be poking the bear. You can't really let the little successes suddenly get you haughty. He couldn't really take on the Boutique, because his main shop was hundreds of miles away.

 

"I'll be able to apply the sequins, but it'll take me a few hours to do that. Will you be able to come back in a few hours?" he asked Evening Light.

 

He then helped the white stallion with the game controller cutie mark.

 

"I've got plenty of ties. Ties are one of my favorite things to make! I've got lots of yellow ones, but most of them have red stripes in them, though. Are you okay with red stripes?" He then showed Star Player a yellow bow tie that had thick, diagonal, dark red stripes.

Alex turned around and collided with another stallion,"Oh, watch where you are you going there."He stood up and shook his head then helped out the Stallion,"Im guessing someone wants cupcakes as much as I do, Blue Berry makes them delicious anyways im Alex."He looked back behind him and saw a mare running towards the stallion

"Red stripes? Perhaps do you have anything that is yellow with purple stripes? If not I will gladly take the one with red." Star Player said. He gave a small smile to the pony. He knew that he could have gone to elsewhere for a tie, but this would work. Things were looking up. Nobody knew about him in this town so it was a fresh start. However, there was still one thing bothering him, but he shrugged it off and waited for the pony's answer.

"Slow... The buck... Down" evening said as she caught up with her brother, she saw another stallion as she got closer "hello there, I apologize for my clumsy brother. He has a tendancy to crash into ponies"

"I'm not that clumsy, it was ONE TIME" rain said to his sister "and as your older sister it is my sworn duty to bug you with that one time until the end of the universe" she replied

"Sorry, I don't have anything with purple stripes...seems I'm kinda biased towards the red," replied Binding Thread to Star Player, offering him the bow tie.

 

Gail Force wandered the town square, noticing it was all too familiar. Ponies going about their days, talking, laughing, working, shopping, while she was just being left alone as she always does. She termed it as being left in "alternate side parking", like the way Manehattanites leave their carriages on the other side of the street. It's a feeling like being taken to Las Pegasus when you're too young to gamble.

 

She figured she would just go into Sugarcube Corner and pick up something quick, like the corner delis back home. She noticed Binding Thread making good business, but was too unsure of herself to ask him if he needed any help.

 

No one ever needs my help anyway, she thought to herself as she went into Sugarcube Corner.

Rilea and Aidan were getting bored. "Hoof wrestle?" suggested Rilea.

"Same result as always," Aidan gloated over his victory.

 

"Whatevs. I have wings, you don't," answered Rilea.

 

"I'm a way better archer!" rebutted Aidan.

 

Rilea giggled. "I'm gonna get us some cupcakes. My treat!"

 

Rilea entered a trance of thought as she walked. How fun Aidan was... how hard-working and perseverant he was... how smooth his buttcheeks were...

 

She made her way through Ponyville, ignoring Rainbow Blitz' attempts to flirt with her, and entered Sugarcube Corner.

Gail Force was looking for something quick just to pick up and take home. Nothing really extravagant.

 

But there's that feeling -- it's like she wanted to be in a rush but she really couldn't. She didn't really have anywhere to be or anyone to see, save for Binding Thread on the trip back home in a couple of days. She didn't know whether she wanted to stay in there or go back outside.

 

As another mare approached her and tried to strike up conversation, all she could muster up was a slightly-interested "Hey."

 

Small talk was fine. Small talk was enjoyable. Small talk was utterly pointless. It's not like I'm ever going to see this mare again after I leave this place.

 

But I'm lonely and have nothing else to do...

 

Gail just stood around and waited for this other mare to take the lead. She wasn't really one to lead the conversation.

"I'll take that tie then." Star Player said and took a quick look around Ponyville. No one was following him, no one was talking to him except this one stallion and that was that. He couldn't help think that maybe he was over thinking things.

 

"C-could you maybe gift wrap that?" Star Player asked. He knew fully well that the tie wasn't a gift, but he felt the need to gift wrap it anyways. It had to be. He sighed and waited to see how much it would cost.

Binding Thread had quite a few things on his shelf for almost any kind of need...except for enough proper gift wraps.

 

"I normally don't gift wrap the tie alone. That could wrinkle it. I could gift wrap it in a box, but this is the only box I have right now."

 

It was large for a bowtie, about as wide as the pony himself and as deep as a shoebox.

 

"Normally, I'll take 3 bits for the gift wrapping, but I'll take it down to one since I don't have the right box for it."
