Stone Cold Applejack 381 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 Thanks for coming here and thank you for your service. If you don't know I plan on joining the marines when I turn 18. So I have some questions. 1. What are the 'types' of soldiers? Like rookies and that stuff 2. How would I make friends? 3. How will I be treated by the vets 4. How good does it feel to have that helmet one. They look comfortable. Plz answer these I need some help on it. TRULY YOURS, YOUR BIGGEST FAN. THIS IS STAN. Delernil 952 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 (edited) Miaq was in the military, so he can post. I wasnt in the military but i have a surplus kevlar helmet. Its really comfortable actually. Not when i hit it on a treebranch every few seconds like i always manage to do. but it has padding and stuff. Edited August 16, 2014 by Delernil 1 I only love you platonically. As in plate tectonics. As in two bodies sliding against each other. <3 -Makusu
Pinkamena Dianne Pie 465 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 1. Depends on your MOS. You could be POG or a combative MOS. POGS are usually a bit more civilized than the combative. 2. It's easy as hell. Don't have to try too hard. 3. Depends on the vet. Either nicely or like a Drill. 4. I personally dislike my Kevlar. Cupcakes baked fresh DAILY. Signature by me. Zekromic 1,054 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 4. I personally dislike my Kevlar. You'll probably find more uncomfortable being shot without it . Sorry, couldn't resist, it reminded me of something my dad (who's a retired general) said to one of his soldiers when he caught him without his kevlar

It's uncomfortable as hell and gives me a headache. There is a Cadet in my troop that has like the Vietnam style helmet which is WAY better in my opinion. Cupcakes baked fresh DAILY. Signature by me. ParaGrunt 17 August 16, 2014 Share August 16, 2014 You'll actually do just fine; I wasn't a Marine, I was in the U.S. Army for over fourteen years, but I have several Marine friends that I hang out with regularly. As a Marine, you won't actually have a choice of MOS or military specialty, you will get placed into a "job" that your test scores show; however, in the Marines, you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet others and befriend them. Vet's won't treat you any different then other soldiers; why? because you chose to serve your country. Vet's will be more then willing to help train you and/or teach you the ropes of what it's like being a soldier. You'll have fun! It's been over seven years since I was in the military, and not a day goes by that I don't miss it and remember all the good and bad times I had...I don't regret it one bit, either; and neither will you. You will be pushed to your limits and then beyond; never give up and always push forward with everything you have...Basic Training and Infantry School are the hardest parts of joining the military; after that, it's a blast! Good Luck Brony! 1 "It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, stains become a warning.
