Right time to put up songs for... incidents

Hi, guys. For those who have been around, I’ve been singing cover songs and placing them up on youtube. Between those times, I’ve been hearing everyday news concerning burglary, frauds, abuse, and most recently, noticeably and disturbingly, the conflicts happening in Gaza.

 

Because of this, I’ve been thinking about what cover song to sing to encourage others to donate and help victims that were caught in this crossfire. Any suggestions or is it too late to sing one now?

 

Also, on a yearly basis near holiday times, I’ve been thinking about singing songs, again to get others to donate to charities and helping other people out. Do you think it’s a good idea?

 

Any comments and suggestions will totally be great. Thank you. No flames though, I don’t have a fire-proof suit.

The first song that comes to my mind is, 

The song was created based of the Bogside Massacre and The Bloody Sunday of the 1920's. More information can be found in the links I've embedded in them. Although it is an old song, I feel like it is still very relative in society.

Thanks Dovashy. As much as I agree how relatable it is to the Gaza situation, but after some thinking and discussing with some friends outside the internet, I came to the conclusion that maybe it’s not suitable for the tribute/charity song this time. Don’t take it the wrong way, but for some reason, it doesn't have the right... ‘feel’ to it, like was an upbeat song, if you know what I mean. Kind of reminds me of People Who Died song by The Jim Carroll Bands for some odd reason.

 

Besides, had a little nostalgia flashback recently, and remembered a ‘few’ I could cover...

Hi guys. Sorry that I haven't been responding in a while. 

 

Thank you Asquerade and Solecistic Kiss for your suggestions. I appreciate them and I'll use them at a later, but this time I chose a song that my heart was moving for.
