Can real horses kick trees for fruit?

maybe (though mostly no)... although I am sure some have tried. A horse may have strong legs, but their anatomy cannot allow them to contort like MLP ponies to "kick" a tree with precision. They can kick, and do kick (farriers can all relate to that), but I've seen more horses try to "climb" a tree than kick one (put their front hooves on the trunk to reach up higher). Plus most trees are not so easily shaken, although it does depend on the type of apples...crab apple trees are fairly flimsy with thin trunks. It also depends on the ripeness of the apples...a fully weighed down tree will have apples falling from a mere breeze. With my crab apple trees, the very ladder I use to lean against the trunk creates a shower of apples. However most of those apples are overripe (not that a horse cares to an extent). Plus, by the time a horse would need to use real force to get an apple, the ripe and bad ones are probably gone and there isn't much left on the tree...

Of course in reality as well, you do NOT want to feed horses many whole apples at all. It makes a nice treat, only once in a while. It could cause Colic if they eat too many, and the seeds carry arsenic, which horses should not consume. You should cut an apple up for them. Although in the show the ponies do not eat the core, horses IRL do...if you take the time to do that with every apple, then it's not so bad for a horse...but too much sugar is not healthy, and apples are high in natural sugar (all sweet fruits are)...and too much of a good thing isn't very good...

The amount of power needed to kick an apple from an alkmene apple tree is roughly 190-210 joules of direct force

the amount of power from a horses kick is around 350-400 joules, a pony in real life would have lower kicking power

but still enough to kick an apple from some trees (not all).

So to your question it is possible but they wouldn't attempt to do it in the first place :)
