If there were feral horses in Equestria, would the ponies domesticate them?

There was a horse in G1 that belonged to Megan. Although IIRC the ponies never had any interaction with it.

 

Still, I don't think it would be a good idea to introduce the concept of the ponies using horses. They're too similar. They need to be portrayed as equals.
