More G1 villains for S5

As we all know, Tirek, the big baddie from G1 returned to G4, jumping into the Season 4 finale, giving us probably the best one so far.

 

Tirek is not the first G1 character to be introduced in G4. Some of the original Mane 6 are from G1:

 

-Twilight and Applejack still have their original names.

-Fluttershy was inspired by a G1 pony: Posey, but had the name of the original G3 pony.

-Pinkie Pie has the name and personality of herself in G3, but she was inspired and originally was going to be a remake of her G1 version: Surprise.

-Rariry was inspired by Glory, but had the personality of Rainbow Dash in G3.

-Rainbow Dash has the personality of G1's Firefly, but a similar design to the RD of G3.

 

Even some other characters, like the Teen Dragons, who also were older dragons that bullied Spike in G1, also being Minor G1 villains.

 

Or the Diamond Dogs, who were inspired by Crunch the Rock Dog, a minor G1 villain.

 

Even the Breezies, are an allusion to the Flutterponies, a pony race with butterfly wings. The only difference being that the Flutterponies were somehow more powerful than even the most powerful odds Ponyland faced.

 

Old G4 villains, like Nightmare Moon, she was inspired by G1 Tirek to bring the Never-Ending Night to the world.

 

Sombra, was inspired not only by Sauron from Lord of the Rings, but also by Grogar, another G1 villain with similar dark powers.

 

Even G4 Tirek, aside from being a revamped version of his G1 version, he was inspired by another G1 villain, Arabus, who also stealed magic(in Arabus' case, shadows), and became bigger and more powerful.

 

But going On-Topic, will other G1 villains be also revamped like Tirek?

 

There's Grogar, a necromancer ram who had enough power to steal the magic essence of all Unicorns, with the intention of sealing them on the dimension they sealed him along his troll army for 500 years.

There was the previously mentioned Arabus, known to be one of the darkest villains in G1, able to left his victims weak and skinny enough to see their skeleton showing. Just like G4 Tirek, he manipulated others to do their dirty work, and aside from that he had one henchmen, Zeb, an antropomorphic Zebra.

There was Lavan, an evil fire/lava demon who wanted the ponies' magic to become an indestructible crystal monster. He's known for being one of the cheesiest villains, in his first scene appearing, he surfs on a lava tsunami, and also he sings after becoming an all-powerful being.

There was King Charlatan, and evil penguin ruler who wanted to freeze the world so his species would become stronger while other weaker species would freeze to death.

There was Squirk, he was a giant, vaguely humanoid octopus that once ruled an underwater kingdom when much of the world was under the ocean.Squirk was a horrible ruler, a tyrant who reveled in cruelty - utilizing the magic of the Flashstone amulet he amused himself with senseless acts of villainy and earned much hatred and fear from those who suffered under his rule.

Why not the Smooze? It makes Gak look like a pushover. Also its like a Muk on steroids.

They should probably save the Smooze for the series finale or a movie.

 

Katrina might make for a good minor villain, maybe with a redemption similar to her G1 counterpart.

 

I'd love to see Grogar, and Tambleon, on the show.

First off, I TOTALLY want to see the Smooze. It would look downright awesome with FiM's animation and I'd just love to hear Dan Ingram do a remix of that nigh-classic song!

Next is Grogar, who could be the biggest bad Equestria has ever seen (in fact, they should probably save him for the Series Finale)

Squirk (and Crank) would be good for using Sea Ponies and hopefully Steven Magnet.

The Flores would be a good fit, with the Crab-Nasties in tow!

The Gizmonks as minor antagonists. In fact, history would repeat itself with them taking Pinkie hostage and her driving them nuts...just as her ancestor Surprise did long ago!

Well, since G4 was basically kind of revamping the previous gens, they could revamp the G1 villains since they were even more intimidating than the others, what are they going to lose doing it, it's a good idea, and their own ideas haven't been that good overall.

 

To be fair, their ideas come from G1 inspirations. Sombra was inspired by Grogar from G1 who's basically the same kind of character, but with more lines and less lazy lines.
