Idea for season premieres and finales.

So as we all know season premieres and finales are always 2 episodes at about 42 minutes, an hour counting commercials, but I was wondering, why not make the "2 parters" an hour long besides the commercials, obviously the hub has more shows they have to air but still, I would love to see this done.

That would essentially make it a 3 parter, which I've rarely (if not never) seen done subsequently. 42 minutes seems like enough time to get a good story in, although I wouldn't mind a 3rd part premiering the next week

Well a lot of people have problems with the endings, they are usually sort of rushed, I wouldnt mind an hour episode, it would essentially just be a tv movie

Now when you put it that way, I'd definitely welcome something like a TV movie. I'd rather that than another Equestria Girl's film.

I have an idea for a season finale. It would be about Griffonia going to war with Equestria. The villain would be a griffon empress who's been a tyrant to her people ever since she took the throne. Now, after just breaking a peace treaty with Equestria, they're going to war with them. The finale would spend most of its time with the mane 6 fighting griffons, then defeating the empress, and ultimately having her impeached in the end.

What if for a premier there was a villain who brainwashed Luna to visit each of the other princesses dreams and split them up. The villain would be the head of a nation, and would want to cause chaos so the nation could take over Equestria. The split up would cause a civil war in Equestria. Throughout the season, Twilight and her friends would try to fix the disputes to no avail. In the finale, they would realize who caused the war and defeat the evil nation and bring harmony back to the land of Equestria.

not really a 3 parter, but the walking dead is doing a 90 minute season premiere for their new season. usually 42 minutes is a two parter so i guess 90 minutes would technically be 3 parts
