A lot of people seem to wonder about Celestia and Luna's parents

While I, too, have wondered about them, a fresh, new thought as to what may have happened to them suddenly crossed my mind, recently. In the Journal of the Two Sisters, it's mentioned momentatily that Celestia and Luna grew up in Canterlot, being raised by other alicorns- one or two of which could've very well been the celestial siblings' parents. In the show, Celestia and Luna were shown to have met Discord during his reign, when they both were in young adult alicorns. But has anyone ever really wondered why it was celestia and Luna who confronted Discord and shoved the EoH in his face, rather than the other alicorns who took part in raising filly Celestia and Luna? (or have we just accepted it as canon that Luna and celestia are the only two alicorns and have always been destined to confront Discord and the other bad guys pre-Twilight and friends?) What if, during Discord's reign, he transformed the other alicorns- or at least Celestia and Luna's parents, into Draconequis, like himself, just for laughs, and to have others like himself (because the more chaos, the merrier, right?), and because of that, it had to have been Celestia and Luna who confronted Discord, after their parents had been put in danger and been transformed by Discord? (and to this day, their transformed Draqonequi parents are being kept in the Canterlot crystal mines or something, which is the real reason why Celestia tried to get the Mane 6 to reform Discord, in hopes of him changing her and Luna's parents back to their alicorn selves?) XD

Oh man. I wish they would treat such things in the actual show instead of putting this in books which probably the half of the entire fandom will never got to see it.

perhaps that is what happened but we won't know unless there is exact evidence for it but many people believe that alicorns are just regular unicorns that earn their wings through great deeds and such and therefore earn their powers of royalty. there have been no suggestion of Draconequis in the series besides discord (if their in the comics let me know without spoilers I just started the comics) but again its all up to the writer because this lore is all her baby and she decides what happens just as jrr Tolkien decided what happened in lotr

yup. All natural (as well as the other alicorns who were in Canterlot before the founding of Equestria, raising them, I'm sure)

You and me both. It could be so simple as Twilight asking when Luna and Celestia became alicorns, to celestia telling Twi that they were always alicorns (not even born into royalty, at that, if they were fillies who were always playing princesses, as it said in the book), and then going into their backstory, touching on the alicorn tribe who raised them, to their childhood, and getting sought out by Starswirl, eventually, to rule the land and becoming princesses through coronation, after the three pony tribes established Equestria, ect ect.

what if it could possibly be a pegasis that grows a unicorn horn but then who know what could happen. I've been thinking about it and I think the ending will be all the mane 6 become alicorns but that's just my opinion on the matter again this will happen through earning the right to be a princess not from being born into it

I just find that a little difficult to believe. Which lead me to assume that Celestia and Luna might've been led to 'stumble across' the elements at the right time, when they needed to know and their hand, er...hooves were forced- their parents likely (hopefully) being turned into Droconeqi by Discord, and the big D reigning chaos over the country and needing to be stopped.

Keep in mind, the location of the tree at the time of discords attacks and prior was the everfree forest.... not only that, but was bigger than in those times due to some cities not even existing....  so its really not that hard to believe.
