"That's good, cuz I'm starving," Jay replied with a smile as she sat down next to Blaze. She picked up a menu and studied it, hoping that the restaurant would have her favourite hay fries available. A waitress trotted up to the table. "What would you like to drink?" she asked.

Blaze was looking through the menu before hearing the waitress. "Just some water please for me" Blaze said as he went back through the menu. "What about you what are you getting to drink Jay" Blaze asked her

"I'll just have tea, thank you," Jay replied. She smiled as she saw that her favourite hay fries were on offer, and she decided to have those with a side of flowers. As with everything good that happened to her, Jay decided to savour the moment for as long as it lasted and not worry about the future.

"Okay well water for me and tea for the beautiful mare sitting next to me" Blaze said as the waitress nodded"Alright I'll have those for you in a second and are you two ready to order" The waitress askedasked. "In ready are you ready to order Jay" Blaze asked

"I'll have the hay fries, and a side of daisies," Jay replied. She glanced at Blaze. "Could we have a pudding after? There's some really nice ones, and we could maybe share one between us. They look very big, just made for two ponies to share." Jay smiled at the waitress.

Blaze smiled. "Sure I don't see the harm in doing so" He said smiling before taking out two thing, a bag of bits and a note book which had burnt marks on it. Blaze started drawing in the notebook as he waited on the drinks and the food. As he drew he would look at Jay now and then before looking back at the notebook.

Jay wondered what Blaze was drawing but was too shy to ask. Her blue eyes were constantly gazing round the restaurant at the other ponies enjoying themselves, and she felt so much peace within herself that she had to keep telling herself that it would not last, but she had to make the most of it while it did. Jay felt sad that while Jinx was in her, she could never be happy.

Blaze looked at Jay and smiled. "Do you want to know what I'm drawing" Blaze asked her. "Because I can show you if you want" Blaze said before he held up the notebook. "I was drawing a picture of you..." Blaze said shyly. "I-I can get rid of it if you don't want me to though" Blaze said

"Please don't, I'm very flattered that you want to draw a picture of me," Jay replied, giving Blaze a shy smile. "It's very good; you have a definite talent for drawing. Are you an artist? If not, then you should be." Jay thought it wonderful that Blaze would want a picture of her.

"R-really...thanks" Blaze said smiling. "You really think my drawing is good? I would never know what others would think since I would never show anypony my drawings" Blaze said as their drinks got to their table. "The food will be out in a minute" The waitress said before heading back

"Yes, your drawings are fantastic," Jay said, enthusiastically. "You should show more ponies your drawings. I wish I had a talent like that. Could you show me more? If you don't want to, that's fine, but I would like to see them."

 

Jay sipped her tea; it was very good.

"Thanks...again" Blaze said before flipping back a few pages showing Jay a few of the different drawings he had. The first drawing was of a dark gray pony and Blaze himself. "I made this one when my friend was still living here...but he's gone now" Blaze said.

Jay looked wonderingly at the drawing. She had never had friends, but she could imagine what it would be like to lose one. It was what she felt every time she tentatively reached out to a pony, and Jinx struck back to ruin the friendship before it had even begun. "That's so sad," she whispered. "Why did he go away?"

"He....moved on" Blaze said. "He just left without talking to anyone...I was his only friend actually" Blaze said before he changed the page. "Haven't seen him since" Blaze said stopping at a page with a unfinished drawing. "This one was going to be of my sister..." Blaze said

"I have a sister," Jay whispered. "But I haven't seen her in years, not since Jinx attacked her out of jealousy and I made her go away for her own protection. It broke my heart but I prefered that she be safe, even if I never saw her again, rather than risk her being hurt or worse by Jinx."

"Yeah...well unlike you my sister is...dead" Blaze said. "Lets change a topic I don't want to talk about all these memories anymore" Blaze said as their food arrived. "Enjoy to food" The waitress said as she set the food in front of them and left. "Looks like the food is here lets eat"

Jay respected Blaze's wishes and let the subject be. In any case, talking about her own sister pained her. She missed her so much, but knew that as long as Jinx resided in her head, she could never see her sister again. Jay thankfully began on the food, which was delicious.

Blaze closed the notebook and started to eat his own food which was really good. "I don't know how long it has been since Jinx has been silent for her...but it really doesn't seem to be that much of a scare right now" Blaze thought to himself as he ate his food.

Jinx eventually finished her main, and decided that she had room for dessert. "Perhaps we could share a sundae?" she asked Blaze. "They all look delicious but really big, far too big for somepony to eat by themselves! Altho, I did use to know a pegasus who could. He had a big appetite."

Blaze finished off his own food and heard Jay speak again about wanting dessert. "I guess I can go for dessert also" Blaze said. "But uh...which sundae do you want to get or do you want to get all of them" Blaze said joking a bit at the last part. "Actually...maybe we can get a scoop of each flavor"

@, "That sounds delicious!" Jay exclaimed as she examined the dessert menu. "There are so many flavours, I don't think I'd be able to choose just one so yeah, let's get a scoop of each, with some sauce and wafers to go with it. I haven't had a treat like this in ages!"

"Alright then it is settled then" Blaze said smiling as the waitress came to get their plates. "Will you be getting dessert today" She asked. "Yes I would actually like a sundae with one scoop of each flavor please along with chocolate sauce and wafers to go with it" Blaze said. "Alright I'll bring that out soon" The waitress said leaving

@, Jay dug in happilly. This date was everything she'd ever dreamed of, and she wished it would never end. /

 

All things come to an end tho, both good and bad. After she and Blaze had left the restaurant, Jay felt a sudden stirring in her mind and shivered. Oh please no...

Blaze smiled as he left the restaurant before he stopped and looked at Jay and saw her shivered before he asked. "Jay are you okay?" He asked. "Are you cold because I saw you shivering and I just wanted to make sure" Blaze said as he moved closer to her. "Come on let's get you home"

Jay smiled automatically, but inside her mind, was locked in a terrible struggle with Jinx, one that she knew that she could not win.
