Karla relaxes in the study looking through old books and lore. While she does she enjoys a little wine. Her ears remained perked to hear for noises incase of intrusion. She could hear much activity but it was namely the noise from the residence that live here. Her eyes still stoically read the pages as if she ignoring the rest of the world, her mind multitasking between a sip of wine and the current book in hoof. the chilled air of the manor putting her at ease.

Violia was looking in her hut for a lore page she found on a manor. She nearly flipped her hut upsidedown looking for it and soon she did. The book had histories of many beings and locations. She looks for the lore and finds it. "Darkside Manor,  home to the many residence who seeked refuge during a time of war and prejudice." Violia then sighs. "I wish I knew about this when I was a little filly..." She sighs, looking back the lore and reading it through. She wonders where this manor lies in the land of Equestria. A even better question; does it still exist?

Sunny Melody's hooves clip-clopped down the broken cobblestone road as she trotted through the barren moor, speckled with forests on the horizon, and shaded by distant mountains. Her happy and passive mood she'd retained for most of the traveling day began to fade to reveal a spark of worry. It was getting late, and she might be slightly maybe probably lost.

 

Sunny was on her way to a musical performance - hers, specifically. It was located in a small but noteworthy mountain town near Las Pegasus. There was an autumn celebration with lots of singing and dancing, and her musical talent - specifically with string instruments - had made her perfect for the job.

 

Just as long as I can get there...

 

Sunny Melody took a moment to rest and plan the rest of her journey. She'd ridden a train this far, and she'd expected the walk to be short. But it was getting late and she needed a place to stay for the night.

 

Then a mist began to roll in. It seemed to have a strange sparkle to it, and seemed out of place in the clear twilight air.

 

Heh heh, Twilight Sparkle... Sunny's mind began to fill with jokes and puns concerning the newly crowned Princess of Friendship. She'd always wanted to be a comedian.

 

However, the cream-colored unicorn mare righted her mind, lifting up her previously resting violin case, and trotting off with a new purpose: Finding a place to stay for the night.

Stormlight wanders around the manor, always being fascinated of the decor and atmosphere that goes with the place. She stops for a moment and looks at the old mirror, her mane getting messier during her days in this lovely manor.

 

"Oh well, I like my hair the way it is anyways...", she sighed and grins.

 

Knowing that there is only three total, including her, living in the manor, she was happy to know she is able to get some peace and quiet. Well, most of the time, but she is well acquainted with the changeling named Void, so she talked to him when ever she felt like talking.

Void was in the yard of the Manor practising his Transformation magic in peace since he needs full concentration. He was testing how many creatures he could turn into in a row before getting tired from magic use he has been doing this for a while.

"I can get one more spell out...*Sighs* Nope I am way to tired" Void was talking to himself as per usual.

 

Void was growing bored of the outside and he saw a mist coming in from the distance so he trotted back inside the Manor and up the stairs with his Armour making him stomp as he went step up to step up.

"I hope no one gets annoyed again... I ain't taking my Armour off though" He was in the corridor leading to his room.

Moonlit did not know where he was going, or why he was going there, all he knew was that apparently, he won a mansion in a contest that he doesn't even remember entering.

"It's not like I got anything to lose" he said. "and if push comes to shove, I can just fly away." Moonlit followed the map that was included in his letter.
From his vantage point in the sky, he spotted a bright yellow unicorn on the path. "Why is there somepony else out here at this time? Is she lost?" He asked himself.

Sunny needed a place to stay very badly now. It was already pitch black, and the temperature was dropping by the minute. She was pretty sure snowflakes were falling, and some frost was definitely gathering in the sparse grass beneath her hooves. The cobblestone path had ended long ago, and she was now simply trotting towards  the mountains, where she knew her destination was. Her happy atmosphere had now dropped away completely, and her primal concern was the monsters that obviously inhabited the woods to her (distant) right, but growing closer as she made a beeline for the mountains.

 

Luna guide my path...

 

As Sunny Melody gazed up to the moon, her green eyes fell on a shadow passing over it. It looked almost like a pegasus, but no pony would be out in this remote area at this time of night... would they?

Karla soon put down her book and sighs some. She grew tired of the silence and wanted to take a stroll around the manor for a bit. Maybe she could talk to some of the fellow residence, that would be fun. She hops out of her seat and walks on out of the study. Walking on down one direction, she notices Void come into view. "Greetings, Void."

Violia notices some interesting information and she found a general location of such manor. Now she has to go find it. She packs up some essentials in the saddlebag for the trip and heads off. She makes her way fairly far as a fog began to roll in. The night has nearly fallen and as darkness takes the sky, the moon rising. She didn't worry as she has done night travel before. It's not as plesant for some, but she enjoys it thoroughly.

Moonlit flew briefly in front of the moon, trying to get a good look at the Unicorn.
"Yeah. that Unicorn does seem to be lost..." He said, before flying down towards the unicorn in order to give it a helping hoof, but what Moonlit didn't realize is that he rustled the trees as he flew by them.

Sunny Melody let out an audible yelp as the shadow swooped towards her. She whipped around to face it, just as the leaves rustled and a twig snapped to her back. She turned around again, her worry replaced with fear replaced with primal bravery as she swung her violin case threateningly at the approaching danger.

"She seems to be startled. Maybe I should try a different approach?" He asked himself, unsure if the awaiting yellow unicorn was scared of him or not. He closed his wings and instead opted to walk towards the Unicorn, who he now noted as a mare. His hooves making a tippity tapping sound.

Violia soon made it a point where the distant mountain came into view. She was making fairly good time. That was until she heard a loud scream and she rushes to see what it was, ready to aid the victim pony. Violia comes to two ponies in the dark. Violia casts the Ball of Light spell and it shines over her, Sunny, and Moonlit.

"Oh..." Sunny Melody's killer instinct immediately halted as a strange and calming light shot out from an unknown source, banishing the darkness and revealing the strange swooping shadow to be nothing more than an ordinary black-and-green pegasus. He dropped to the ground and closed his wings, completely unthreateningly in the day-like light.

Sunny turned her head to the source of said light, and her gaze fell on a silhouette of a unicorn, dark as a shadow against the heavenly light emitting from its horn.

Sunny Melody lowered her violin case to the ground and released it from her magic. She turned to the pegasus and smiled, any worry completely gone.

"My name's Sunny Melody. You?"

Moonlit was very startled by the bright light, when he realized that the unicorn he had been approaching earlier was looking behind him.
"Is there something behind me?"
He turned around, and saw another unicorn who, at least in his mind, had a really strange mane and coat color. But he had to his head back to the other unicorn as she was addressing him. "I'm Moonlit Ace."

Violia walked in closer to see that it was just two ponies. She was confused about the aggressive screaming. Maybe the mare thought the pegasus was a monster or something. Violia remained in silence as Moonlit and Sunny talked. She wasn't sure where they were headed but it they are on the same path, maybe to the manor. She began to ponder how it was possible since it a long since lost manor. Maybe they heard a rumor or something.

"Hi!" Sunny Melody chirped to the pegasus, now known as Moonlit Ace.

"So what are you doing here this late at night? I'm on my way to a concert, performed by myself, of course." Sunny turned to the strange unicorn now. "On a similar note, why are you here?"

The mare's eyes now drifted off to the distance, deep with philosophy. "Why are any of us here..."

"Well, believe it or not, I was told there was a manor in this forest, and that I had won it from a contest I don't even remember entering." He said sheepishly. "Normally I'd avoid stuff that sounds like a trap, but I figure I can fly away if things go awry. You know?"

Violia then sighs. "Well it seems we all have are going in the same direction mostly. I am traveling to seek a manor told about in lost lore. It maybe the same manor you seek." She says looking to Moonlit. "My apologies. I'm Violia." She also looks to Sunny not sure why some performer would be in such a dangerous road. It almost seems like fate.

"Nice to meet you, Viola! Hey, I play the viola! Do you play, too? Maybe we could do a duet together at-" Sunny Melody cut off her own sentence before she got too carried away, and turned to Ace to speak.

"Anyway, I'm glad to know there's a manor somewhere nearby. I guess it's the same one Viola's talking about, but I'm just glad for a place to stay. I was getting ready to sleep in a log for the night!" Sunny wrapped her violin case once again in her magic, lifted it in the air, and got ready to trot off.

"So, where is this manor you speak of?"

"Well, it is a little mysterious how all of us ended up running into each other, don't you think? Maybe this IS a trap of some sort." He said.

"Well, since I'm the only one who can fly maybe it'll be easier for me to find out what's up ahead, wouldn't that make the most sense?"

Violia smiles and shakes her head. "I'm sorry, it's just my name. My specialty is with forbidden magic and thanks to a Zebra friend, herbs and potions." She says to Sunny. Violia then looks to Moonlit. "Well you'd have the most reaction time. If it gets really bad I could port us out of range of the danger." Violia says. She then sighs. She does share a bit of consurn. It seems like trap but maybe it was also just by chance. Who knows? She sure doesn't.

Sunny Melody responded to Viola: "Wow, cool! I love weird magic and potions and stuff!" Sunny noticed the unicorn had a troubled look on her face, but she turned to Ace instead as he suggested he fly ahead.

 

At Moonlight's suggestion, she put down her violin case (again), and promptly sat down on her haunches.

 

"I don't care if you want me to follow you." Sunny said with a completely straight face.

"Well, as I said, I have a map that will take us right to the manor but it might be wise for Sunny to fly with me for the time being, seeing as Viola over here has magic that she knows how to use to protect herself, but as I said I can get us to the manor and just find out what is going on here."

"A map is great, but I don't have wings..." Sunny gestured to her bare flank, but her face lit up with an idea. "Are you gonna let me ride on you? I've always wanted to do that! So, do you have, like, a saddle or anything?" Sunny stopped that train of thought and decided to ask a question instead. "Wait, what do you mean about stuff "going on" here...?"

Violia nods. "That sounds good. I can take the ground." Violia then looks around and closes her eyes. She detects life but it's mostly wild life. Nothing immediately threatening. "I do not detect anything that'll be a threat for the time being. Let us hurry." Violia says as she gets ready to to head off. She then remembered the ball of light. She may attract something, but it'll just be her not Moonlit or Sunny. She decides to keep the ball of light present to help Moonlit keep track of Violia incase trouble arrives.

Moonlit Laughed. "No, I don't have a saddle, but you can ride on my back." He said "Just make sure to hold on tight, don't fall off, and for the love of Celestia DON'T try and touch me there!" He joked. "Uhhh, yeah...  forget what I just said." He got in the right position so that Sunny could mount him. No, not in that way, you and your dirty minds...
