As night settled in, Rave felt better. "With the darkness I am one. Night, give me strength" he prayed in his mind. The train cart neared Ponyville. "Just ten more minutes and we will have reached our destination". "Get ready. Once you reach Ponyville, be on your guard. Have anti-spells ready and protective spells as well". I already have them ready" Rave thought.

He replied to Sparkle.

 

"I would have been better if your friend hadn't tried to put a forbidden curse on me. You do realize he is dangerous? "

 

He got up a bit. The wind was cold and not really pleasant, but he managed to live with it, covering himself with his cloak. 

 

"Anyway... your... sister? I take it she was foalnapped? Could you tell me of the things you know? I have been on this case for a long while now and I had no leads... usually the ponies lacked families, and the ones that did didn't even dare go as far as you. You can help me a lot, I just need you to cooperate... also... better not tell your wanted friend about me here. "

" I have found out that we need a book a history book the only thing is my sword mentor took it but I know where there a second copy in the ever free forest I also found out that whatever this thing is can somehow get into other ponies body's "sparkle sees the tunnel aproching fast " haha nearly there look out Dark low ceiling! "

As the cart went through the tunnel, Ponyville came in sight. It was nighttime and many of Ponyville's citizens had gone to sleep, although many were still awake as well. As the train cart entered Ponyville Rave shouted "Welcome to Ponyville, have a nice day. Oh and all stowaways are to pay for the ride. Tickets please" Rave laughed maniacally as he looked up at the ceiling of the cart. As the train cart drew to a halt Rave shouted to Sparkle's, "I need to go home for a minute. I will meet you guys back at Sparkle's house. I have to go do something very important quick". Rave started immediately to run through the streets of Ponyville. He looked up on one of the walls of a house and he saw a wanted poster of him. "Already? Celestia, you are quicker at detecting magic than I thought. Hmmmm. 500.000 gold bits". Rave whistled. "Now that is something. But it is understandable. Not a good thought that I have Sombra's personal spell book". Rave was reaching his house. "Soon I shall be released and I will be able to help you. In return for releasing me, I will aid you in your search of the foalnapper, however, after that, we will revive Sombra" said the voice within Rave's head. Rave felt very good, however, what he did not know, was that the voice had other plans in mind. "Everything is going as planned" the voice thought to itself.

The moment the train arrived Dark Star tried hiding and disappeared from the group without alerting them. Silently following Rave without the use of any magic to not bring any unwanted attention from the surrounding civilians. 

 

Ponyville was a town he liked but it was still not something he would choose over the luxurious Canterlot that he was very much used to and knew every corner of. 

 

Moving along the almost non-exiting crowd he found it hard to follow his target, but so far it was working.

Snowflake still feeling sorrow from his dream he continues forward with the others having his hood cover his eyes so no one would notice his sorrow "alright we got the book we needed so whats our next move Sparkle. Anything else involving crime?"

Rave reached his house, he went inside and he locked the door after him, to make sure no one came in. His paranoia was quite clear. "Bring forth the book" the voice told Rave. Rave brought the book from the pocket universe. He then locked all windows just to be safe. He drew the curtains shut. "Read chapter 25". Rave found chapter 25 and started reading out loud. He brought forth some of his artifacts that he had collected throughout the past. All of them were dark artifacts. He kept on reading. "Yes, I can feel the bonds weakening. I shall enter this wretched world once again". Rave kept on, nearly finishing the spell.

"Well Snowflake I'm glad you asked for you see when I saw my sword mentor he was holding a book labeled [ an entire history of equestria ] I wondered where he got it from then I remembered that it was in the castle of the two sisters so I'm guessing that that's our next location" Sparkle had a look of confidence in his eyes

"alright then we should head there also" Snowflake looks around he then gestures for Sparkle and Melody to lean their heads closer and he says under his breath "Rave isn't to be trusted I know what he did and I know what he is doing and I know what he is capable of but he said it will be beneficial to finding the foals. but if he is lying to us do not be afraid to stop our friend"

The spell was near completion. "I rise. Celestia falls". "What do you mean?", "Nothing, keep going. You are nearly done. Just a few more minutes". Thunder seemed to crackle in Rave's house. Dark clouds were filling the room. Darkness covered the room Rave was in, a mist rose covering everything. "Yes, I can feel it, soon the portal will open and you will be able to step through" as Rave said that a small portal appeared. "It's not big enough, however, it will grow and once it is big enough, you will be able to step through. The spell is complete, now we wait until the artifacts reach full power and open the portal completely wide. While I wait, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to keep on reading the book. Who knows what new dark spells I might learn". A dark mist poured from the book. It was starting to speak to Rave. Rave stroked the book, caringly as if it was really precious to him. "Mine" he whispered.

"OK don't trust Rave right..." Sparkle looked around "hey where's Dark?" Sparkle ran off in the direction of Raves house looking for Dark "DARK! DARK STAR!? " sparkle kept running towards raves house "Rave Rave " sparkle burst into Raves house "Raveiletaponyonthetrainandnowhe'smissinng" sparkle looked behind Rave "hey never mind my problem you've got a really dark room here can I turn a light on and why are you talking too a book?"

Rave looked surprised at Sparkle. "I thought I locked the door? Nevermind. I know that the other pony was on board the train cart. I already have lights on, but they won't do anything, because... magic. You understand. Can't beat it, hehe. And I am reading the book not talking to it". Rave looked at the book "am I talking to you?". It was clear Rave was not really in his right mind. "If you are looking for Dark, then he is somewhere outside the house sneaking around. I have been alerted by his presence, thanks to some..... help. Go outside and look for him, however, I'm in the middle of something. I will join with you later". Rave thought for a second. "Any plans? Know where our next destination is?". Rave carefully activated some of his shield spells, just to be safe.

"Wait you locked the door well you didn't do a very good job of it oh and by the way" sparkle was just walking out ihe door you probably shouldn't talk to books that's creepy bye ! Oh and let me know if you find Dark let me know OK ? I'll probably be around the town center OK byee!"

Rave locked the door and this time put his closet in the way of the door just to be sure. "Phew. That was close. Is the portal up yet?". "You think that opening portals takes just a few seconds?" the voice asked annoyed. "Would have thought that, but judging by your voice, it doesn't, does it?". "No". "Well, anyway, I have found some interesting chapters about combat spells and I'm learning a few of them" Rave wore a nasty grin on his face.

Dark Star didn't both with stealth anymore once he reached the house and felt the foul aura coming from it. Star blew the door open and walked in. Getting to the room where the portal was, facing Rave, his saber out and his horn ready to cast anything. 

 

"Well well, opening a portal to summon an ancestor of yours... for what? You are mad Rave, you will bring death upon the people you hold dearest. "

Rave smiled intensely. "He is here. Just as you predicted and he arrived precisely on the right time". An hour glass stood on a table next to Rave, the last bits of sand ran down to the bottom. "Oh my, oh my. Out time are we? Worry not, it will all be over soon". The portal started to ripple with energy. It had grown larger than Rave. Out of the portal stepped out a pony that was at least twice the size of Rave. His mane and tail were black as the night. His coat was dark blue. His eyes were green. "Ahhh. It is good to have my body once again" Blackforest hissed. He looked at the unicorn by the door. "There you are. You will make a perfect sacrifice". "Sacrifice? What sacrifice? What are you talking about?". Blackforest turned to Rave. "Silence" Blackforest looked ready to strike at Rave with every dark magic he got in him, however, his mood suddenly softened. "A sacrifice to make you stronger of course. You need to be at your best when the revival of Sombra begins". "But first we catch the foalnapper and find Sparkle's sister, right?". "Of course, of course. But one step at a time". Blackforest looked at Dark Star again, his green eyes seemed to be targeting the pony. Green smoke came out of Blackforest's eyes as dark magic started to form around him. Rave readied himself as well, his eyes becoming a little greenish, blending in with his red eyes and green smoke also coming from his eyes.

"He is not planning to help you, you should know it. He will backstab  you the first chance he gets, and you should trust me in that. You are not the first Dark Magic users I am facing, and you most certainly won't be the last. " 

 

He pushed his cloak off to the side revealing parts of his light body armor. 

 

"I have my advantage, you underestimate me. I managed to feel the huge extent of your power with that book. Also... don't worry Mr. Blackrave. I've read about you too. I know what to expect." 

 

He kept his horn lit up, ready to cast anything. 

 

"Besides, I am not fighting to win... while you clearly are... But, I won't get into details of my plan, would be stupid of me. " He gave out a short laugh.

Blackforest looked at Dark Star for the longest of time, then he suddenly laughed. "Such arrogance. To think you alone can defeat me. And if you really know who I am you should get my name right. If you truly know who I am, you should know what I am capable of. You should know why the two sisters, Celestia and Luna were afraid of me. You should know that I am ready to sacrifice anything for my king, Sombra. But I am not planning on staying for long. I have business to attend to. More particularly, two sisters that should feel delighted to see an old friend once more". Rave stopped his dark magic. "What are you talking about?" Rave figured it out. "I should have known" Rave jumped to the sides. "Don't worry, I did expect this and did plan for this". Rave collected his artifacts and then focused on Blackforest. He activated a powerful spell. Blackforest stood there and watched in amusement. Rave unleashed his spell. Black smoke filled the room, but as it cleared, Rave saw that he had done nothing to Blackforest. "I guess you are as arrogant as he is Rave. I have not lived for over a 1000 years to get beaten by a young arrogant pony and I have certainly not gotten weaker. No, by residing inside the bodies of your ancestors and yourself I have been harvesting your energy and transferring it into my physical body. Now I am even stronger then I was before I was imprisoned. Both of you are fools and understand nothing. You haven't lived long enough to learn. You are young and arrogant" Blackforest walked up to Rave and bucked him in the face, sending him flying across the room. Rave could never have stood a chance against a stallion twice the size of him in physical combat. "I shall have my revenge" Rave said threateningly, rising up, however, heavily injured. "Once I have read this book and drained it's powers, I shall posses the same powers as king Sombra himself. Then we shall see who is the stronger pony, Blackforest". Rave began to teleport away.

"Dark DARK! WHARE ARE YOU!? (Oh I hope he hasn't been caught and will be used as a sacrifice for some reson hold on it seams like Rave was in a hurry to get me out his house)" sparkle flew back to Raves house just in time to see Dark entering the house "*gasps* Dark I found him yes " sparkle dove down before hitting the ground "oww I'm OK probably" sparkle entered through the door and ducked down as he saw a pony twice the size of Rave "o...k..a..y I'm just gonna wait over here" sparkle mumbled in a shy way backing into a coner (why is he so big I hope he's not hungry otherwise I might be on the menu *gulps*)

Rave notices Sparkle right before he is about to teleport. "NOOO" Rave yells and cancels his teleport. "Get out of here Sparkle. Run. RUN!". Blackforest turns his attention to Sparkle. "Sparkle, we finally meet. So this is your friend Rave. How pathetic. He is not a unicorn. He can not wield magic. Perhaps if I kill him you will stop being so weak. Perhaps you will learn to toughen up and follow your superiors orders. Perhaps you will learn then that there is no such thing as friendship": "Leave him out of this. Leave him alone or I'll.. I--" "Or you WHAT? Shoot a pathetic spell at me? Come on Rave, be sensible. You know how it will end. Don't make me turn you into a sacrifice as well. Don't make me drain your magic as well". He turned to the other unicorn. "Something I learned from a Centaur called Tirek back during my short time at Tartarus. Something you weren't able to prepare for since it was never recorded into the history books. Since no information was given about me in history books after I escaped". Rave walked over to Sparkle and whispered "Please leave. All of you. You too stranger" he looked at Dark Star. "This is my fight. This was my mistake. This is MY family". Rave charged against Blackforest. As he charged he yelled back "Run while you can, this will be the only chance you will ever get. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine".

Before anyone got hurt Dark Star focused heavily and shot at the dark Pony, the area gave out a small shockwave knocking several small objects. 

 

The anti-magic spell worked, the teleport couldn't be performed and the whole house was stuck in a huge bubble from which no magic what-so-ever could enter or leave until the spell would weaken and could be destroyed with a more powerful spell. 

 

Dark Star leaned upon a wall, losing his balance and energy from the powerful spell. He lifted his rapier and got into a dueling position with his new enemy. 

 

"So, how about oh great and powerful one... a sword duel. Since any of us using magic at the moment could end up killing everyone in the room, so I wouldn't try it. If you consider the sport we have have a two on one, me and Rave versus you. "

 

He turned to Rave.

 

"I have a plan, so... just try not to die for the next five minutes and keep him in here."

Blackforest met Rave head on and charged the pony and knocked him down, trampling him under his hooves. He then looked at the other unicorn. "Really? You intend to duel the Captain of the Royal guard of Sombra as well as the General of the Crystal Army?". He laughed darkly. Eight black swords formed at Blackforest's sides. He was about to get ready when he noticed a clock and saw the time. "I don't have time for this. I have a date with destiny". The swords disappeared and he blasted a green lightning into Dark Star's bubble, shattering it. "Weak magic" Blackforest mumbled as he transformed into shadow and flew out of the house. Rave crawled up to the door and looked to where Blackforest had flown. "Now nothing will stop him" he said sadly. However, remembering about the moment, he quickly activated his teleporting spell again. "I'm sorry Sparkle, I didn't mean for this to happen. It was never supposed to go this far. However, I can not stay here any longer". Before he left he snatched up Sombra's horn and his book and put it into a pocket universe. He teleported away leaving a magical message to Sparkle's. "I will be hiding at the Castle of the Two Sisters. If you need me, I'll be there". 

 

Rave teleported to the Castle, he immediately dropped on the floor. Weak from the fight with Blackforest. It had brought him a lot of physical pain and a lot of magical distress. Blackforest had started to suck some of Rave's power. However, Dark Star's taunt had saved Rave. Rave blacked out.

Dark Star stood in shock when his shield was broken like it was nothing.

 

"Coward"

 

 He didn't try to stop Rave and simply ran up to Sparkle and lended him a hoof. 

 

"Right, we have no effect on what happens next... I suggest we continue our search of the foalnapper... I alerted the guard and the Mane 6 in the area... the plan was that I hold em off until they get here... "

 

He took out a letter from his cloak that rested on the ground. Lighting it up it disappeared within half a second. 

 

"There, they know not to come here... no more point. Now, I will go ahead and follow your lead... even if you might not like it I am staying with you for now. "

 

Dark Star sheathed his blade and levitated his cloak and put it on, covering his armor and putting a hood on his head.

Sparkle slowly walked out the house looking rather depressed " this is all my fault if I could have just protected lucky better than we wouldn't have too do this well we should probably go get the others before we set off "he turned around just looking at Dark " listen Dark I'm sorry sorry Dark I've let you down if I hadn't had turned up then Rave and you could have defeated him but I just got in the way " Sparkle had been unhappy before but never depressed "its true what blackforest said I am pathetic"

Rave lay unconscious on the stone floor. He was seeing a vision about a memory that Blackforest showed him once. He saw a battle raging on. Two armies clashed. To be more precise, the Crystal army and the army of the Two Sisters clashed. At first it seemed that the army of the Two Sisters would win and the Crystal Army would break, but it was clear that the Crystal soldiers were more afraid of Blackforest than of the enemy army. So they pressed on mercilessly. The battle seemed to change. Now the army of the Two Sisters was beginning to lose ground. Blackforest fought in the middle of the battle. He was looking for somepony. He found him. Standing on top of a hill, fighting with his soldiers was a tough stallion, wearing a golden armor with rubies in it and a royal crest attached to it. It was the legendary unicorn Dawnstrider, who's heroic deeds were known all over Equestria, who is mentioned in nearly every history book about heroes and wars. He was the general of the army of the Two Sisters. This was an opponent that had to be eliminated. Blackforest rushed against the leader and crushed anyone in his path, be it a normal pony or a crystal one. He reached the other pony, however, Dawnstrider had seen his approach and was prepared. A legendary battle raged on between the two of them, however, Blackforest fought both physically and magically against the other stallion. The other stallion was becoming weaker. Soon he stood no more and Blackforest stood over his body and roared in defiance. He glared madly at the enemy army. The army of the Two Sisters was in shock. Many began to cry while others just didn't want to believe what had just happened. Dawnstrider had been loved by everyone, also the troops. The army broke, the army of the Two Sisters was completely shattered. Ponies began to flee and the Crystal army mercilessly killed anyone who tried to flee. Blackforest looked quite pleased. King Sombra was going to be pleased with him. Then suddenly, the Two Sisters them selves showed up and the vision ended there as Rave now only saw darkness.

 

While Rave lay unconscious on the floor, a shadow formed in the corner of the room. It smiled. "Good to see you again.... Rave". It started dragging him away.
