*Derpy's second mail route went as normal as it possibly could, simply delivering mail and packages where needed and nothing else. After she delivered her last package to Quills and Sofas, she flew back to the post office to drop her bags off and flew back to the school house to pick up her daughter.*

Aces went back home and started working on the guitar, figuring it was a very good way to kill time and shut Storm up at the same time. He worked on it for hours, completely losing track of time and almost forgetting about having to go to Derpys house that night.

*As Derpy came up to the school house, Cheerilee saw the grey pegasus and let the purple unicorn filly run free to her mother. After hugging her mother's leg tightly, Dinky hopped onto her back and Derpy headed out towards their home, listening to Dinky tell her all about her day.*

Aces High knew he wouldn't be done with the work on the guitar for a while and sighed when he looked at the after hours on working on it. "Huh.... 7:00....wasnt there something I was supposed to do around now..... Oh crap", he said and grabbed his saddlebags filled with some bits, and his playing cards, himself wearing his earings, necklace and hat.

*After they got home and Dinky went and did her homework, Derpy went about the house, taking care of the chores and anything else that needed to be taken cared of. Once it hit around seven in the evening, she called up her usual sitter, Sparkler, and asked her if she could sit for Dinky. After getting a confirmation, Derpy went to her room to start getting ready for her date.*

Aces quickly brushed his mane, tail, and teeth several times to make sure he looked half decent, but didn't take too long and miss their date. He quickly grabbed his things and trotted out from his house to Derpys home, giving the door a few light knocks.

*Derpy heard the knocks come from the front door as she placed her other earring on.* "Sparkler, can you please get that for me? Tell Aces I'll be downstairs in a second." *She called out to the sitter who had arrived earlier and was helping with Dinky. She took a brush in her wing and brushed out her golden mane.*

The sitter came and told Aces that Derpy would be right down so he just decided to wait outside for the mare, not wanting to intrude on her house. Technically, he was never told to go inside the house and as such would not do so, so he stood outside nervously fiddling with his necklace, hoping he wouldn't do anything to ruin things,

*Derpy gave one last brush through her mane and looked at herself in the mirror.* "Perfect." *She whispered to herself and walked downstairs, and gave Dinky a small kiss on her forehead and waved to Sparkler, and went out the door to meet Aces.* "Hello Aces, how are you?" *She greeted.*

Aces High stood there just looking at her unable to come up with a valid sentence for a moments. Finally he managed to come up with something even if it was lame. "Hello Derpy. You look amazing. And, um.. I'm fine, thanks for asking. So, you all set to go", he asked the mare.

*Derpy giggled as she noticed him unable to think.* "Why thank you, you look nice yourself." *She responded, moving her walked eyes up and down, making sure to get a good look at hi k and not a small blurry image.* "Yup, I'm all set to go, where do you have planned for us to go tonight?"

Aces stood there for a minute trying to remember the name of the place he had gotten them last minute reservations for. "Um....it was some fancy dinner restaurant, like Le Ponyville Cuisine or something like that, eh...I'm not good with names, so sue me, at least i know where it is", he said and turned to head to the restaurant.

*Derpy's ears perked up at the mention of the fanciest restaurant in Ponyville.* "Really!? That place is really expensive! Are you sure you're going to be able to afford it?" *She asks, half excited, half worried about his finances.*

Aces High turned with a chuckle and led her to the restaurant. "Yeah, I can afford it. I make a living gambling and playing bass so this is no biggie", he said as he led the way to the restaurant. "And I asked you to dinner. When I ask a beautiful mare out to dinner, I like to go all out".

*Derpy giggled and felt herself blush when Aces called her a beautiful mare.* "Oh, well if you say you can pay for it, then I'll take your word for it." *She said as she walked next to him on their way to the restaurant. As they walked, she couldn't help but find herself more and more excited as they walked closer to the establishment.*

Aces led the way to the restaurant and got them seating. A quick glance would show that's the the restaurant was empty of diners other than them and Aces had a bit of a smirk that suggested that he had something to do with it. He led her to a table that had been set up up with appetizers and drinks already. An Orchestra played a light Symphony and candles were lit around the establishment. "Like I said, I like to go all out".

*When she saw the way the restaurant was set up, Derpy's jaw dropped and her eyes widened. She was completely shocked and a quick look at Aces showed her that he was responsible for it.* "I.. you.. Aces... What?" *She managed to stammer out of her shocked state of confusion and flattery.*

Aces just chuckled and smiled as he put his hat on her head. "I didn't go too far, did I? This isn't too much, I mean...", he asked and walked her their table. "I reserved every table and paid extra for all the candles and everything..... Wanting to make this special in case there isn't a second dare, that way you'll have one great night to remember".

*Derpy's facial expression went from utter shock to a warm smile.* "Wow Aces, you did all of this, just for me?" *She asked, still amazed at how much he spent just to make her night wonderful.* "I'm really flattered. With how much you went all out to make tonight great, I'm sure there's a second date in sight." *She added with a wink and went to sit down at their table.*

He just went and sat at the table with her, out of things to say that wouldn't sound dumb. "Well, I could have taken you to a movie or a burger joint bit I've got the money and you seem like you could use a nice night out, so I called up everyone who had tables reserved and paid them to reschedule, so we could have a quiet noght", explained and realized she was really cute wearing his hat, especially since it was a bit big on her and dropped down partially over her face, just making her cider.

*She pushed up the hat that was particularly a little big on her head out of her eyes so she could look at him as best as she could and giggled.* "This hat is a bit big on me don't you think?" *She asked, still smiling from her giddiness of how much he spent to make their night wonderful.*

"Yep. Bit it's making you even cuter... I didn't know it was possible. Just let the waiter know when you'd like to order, and he will come right over butas you ccan see even the staff and giving us space until we request otherwise", he said laughing mentally to himself at the fact everything he had spent, he had won the week before from a wealthy but gullible stallion.

*Derpy blushed and giggled softly at his compliments about her looks while wearing the oversized hat.* "Wow Aces, you really did go all out with this." *She said, taking the menu in her hooves, fumbling with it for a second and gave Aces a sheepish smile before looking over what the restaurant had to offer.*

Aces High just chuckled and grabbed his own menu. He ordered an ornate salad with some bread. "Don't bother ordering a drink if you want wine. If you want some thing else to drink then order away. But if you want einr", he said and revealed a delicate bottle of wine that looked absolutely ancient. "This took me forever to get, been saving it for a something real special. Or someone".

*Derpy looked over the menu and asked the waiter to surprise her, not knowing what to order. When Aces pulled out the extremely old looking wine bottle and stared in awe and blushed when he said he'd be saving it for a special someone.* "Wow, Aces how old is that?" *She asked.*
