nickdh 49 November 30, 2014 Share November 30, 2014 I've been fiddling around in Visual Basic 2010 for a while now and had the idea of making a Pony.FM "app" or program, whichever you prefer to call it. Something that simply loads pony.fm up immediately and you can use it as your media player. Curious if anybody would be interested in using something like that. Thanks! 2 ~ for real, please check out this topic. I promise it'll make your dayyyyy! ~Check out my site for updates on Equestrian Adventures, along with other games! My idea is to make pony.fm a media player for Windows. Open the program and pony.fm loads up immediately and you can listen to music through the program rather than opening up google chrome or firefox or whatever browser you use. Just an idea I had. SasQ 1,376 December 2, 2014 Share December 2, 2014 (edited) I wouldn't use it because I don't use Windows either. But it's probably just me. I'm one of those odd ball nerds who run Linux on all of their devices. If you meant an app for a smartphone, then I'd also say "no", because I don't trust such apps and I really cannot imagine why these days all websites have to be viewed by their dedicated apps. What about a standard-complaint web browser? Aren't they supposed to be used for browsing the Web anyway? Why do I need a separate app for every big website? Just because their owners want to spy on me better? Then I say "thanks, but no thanks" to websites like those. P.S: Visual Basic? Really? I am a big believer in promoting web apps over native apps, here at Poniverse we have written all of our sites (minus the forums) using AngularJS (This is a js framework that can be used to help to create html webapps). However in my opinion media websites in the smartphone world are extremely subpar in their ux and even for desktops (moreso music sites than video sites because I want to use my media keys). You do not get access to many functionalities that a normal media app on the phone world, notifications, media controls (the play/pause button on some headsets), access to offline storage and plenty more that a native app would provide. So I say, that those types of Websites, provided you trust them, do deserve to be used with a native app

I really need to learn AngularJS, I have absolutely no idea of what I'm doing. I tried to make a site, and failed at my third go. I've been working on my fourth version... Plan to have it released by May 21. Treble Sketch Network Twitter | (Art) Blog | Steam | GitLab/GitHub Ask for my Telegram, Discord, or Riot if you want them to contact me.
