Well, for the past week or two, I've been unable to get on the MLP Forums, AT ALL. I mean, I would never be able even get on the website, it would always give me a "Connection Reset" error!

 

Just now, while testing my ping, I figured out that my IP changed somehow, which gave me the opportunity to get back on the forums, WOOHOO!

 

But... I want to know why I couldn't get on for all of this time... It was odd, not even Zoop could help.

I was wondering where you were Daring. Like you said it was the IP change, no pony would like your IP address would change so I can't say Id expect them to be of much help.

That actually happened to me a few times, but it all worked in a few moments, probably does with were you live maybe?

I can't tell you why that happened :

But I can tell you that an easy way to change your IP is to unplug your modem and leave it for half a minute. This should refresh your IP, if I remember correctly.

So yeah...if it happens again, you know what to do.

Only reason I could think of for this is if your IP address was somehow blacklisted by my server's firewall. It's possible that someone in your area might have tried to gain access to my server, gotten their IP blacklisted, then you were unfortunate enough to get that IP address assigned to yourself next.

 

There are ways to force a renewal of your IP address, though this may vary by modem and router. A better solution, in the future, would be to send an email to support@mlpforums.com so I can help you out and get to the bottom of it.
