@@Unicorncob,

"Most of the songs I know are in Ancient Pegasus, not  Equestrian, and allot of them comes from as far back as the crusades, since my ancestors were crusaders. But I do know a few songs some of the lads taught me. An old buddy of mine taught me Shetland the brave, also I learned that song I was singing when I was cleaning my armor from a griffon who worked with us during the war" Chronos explained.

(Shetland is a pun of Scotland)

Tyra nodded, listening intently to Chronos.

"A lot of the songs I know are in my own tongue, but I picked up some travelling, like one I learned from a griffin in Shireland, and from a lovely mare from Prance!"

She remembered that song he was singing, and grinned. "It sounded nice, what was it?"

@@Unicorncob,

"I'm part Prench... The song was called March of Cambreadth" Chronos said as he picked up one of the fish and cleaned it in the stream. "I find it funny how you said it sounded nice but it is about slaughtering your foes and defending your lands" Chronos said chuckling. He set his shield down and he set the fish on it. He made sure the ax was sharp before getting ready to cut the fish's head off.

Tyra listened to Chronos as she matched what he was doing with the fish.

She blinked as he explained the song's meaning, then let out a smirk. "That does sound nice!"

She set her fish on a tree stump and lifted her axe, bringing it down and cutting the head clean off, as well as sending a sizeable slice through the stump.

@@Unicorncob,

Chronos laughed "So, you want to hear it?" Chronos said as he cut off the fishes head and tossed it aside. He began to gut the fish taking out the organs and putting them in a pile on his shield. He skinned off the scales until their was just the meat. He walked over to the stream and cleaned off the meat.  He  then put it on the stand over the fire. He grabbed another fish and repeated the process.

"Of course!" Tyra grinned, gutting and de-scaling her own fish, then following Chronos to the stream, "It's the creed of a warrior, is it not? To protect your home from intruders and defeat all who dare try to take it!"

She moved her own fish to the stand and grabbed another to cleave its head off, the slice in the stump getting deeper.

"As a soldier you are either the defender or the conqueror." He said before starting to hum, then it turned into singing as he chops and guts the fish.

"Axes flash, Broadswords swing, Shining Armor's piercing ring. Horses run with a polished shield, Fight those bastards until they yield! Midnight mare and blood red roan, Fight to keep this land your own! Sound the horn and call the cry, How many of them can we make die!!"

Tyra nodded, agreeing with Chronos statement, and listened as he began the song, gutting her own fish.

Quickly she decides she enjoys the lyrics, and starts stomping her hoof on the ground in rhythm. Her passion for battle and her clan began to swell inside her as she cleaned and propped the fish on the fire, and with her charged energy, her next swing to behead another fish send a clean cut through the tree stump and embedded her axe into the ground a bit.

But she didn't care; she was fired up.

Chronos continued to sing, He was starting to stomp his hooves also.

"Follow order as your told, Make their yellow blood run cold.  Fight until you die or drop, Force like ours is hard to stop. Close your mind to stress and pain, Fight until your no longer sane! Let not one damned cur run pass by, How many of them can we make die!!"

Chronos continued to chop his forth fish, He looked up and noticed that Tyra had broken her stump and smiled as he continued to sing.

Tyra kept her smirk, regardless of the stump being cleaved in half, and continued to prepare the fish, her hoof stomping hard on the ground. If there was one thing that got her blood pumping, it was a good war song.

She'd make sure to remember the song, so she could teach it to all of Trotstheim when she eventually went home.

@@Unicorncob,

Chronos continued to sing until the song ended and he had gutted 5 fish.

He chopped his ax into a near by tree and sang the final lyrics "How many of them can we make die!!.... How many of them can we make Die!!!..." Chronos then counted all the fish on the rack. "I think we got enough to last us all. Keep some of the uncut fish for later, It is good to have an abundance of food"

Tyra finished her own fish, still pumped up from hearing Chronos' song. By the end, the stump had been sliced and diced into splinters, and a good collection of fish meat was on the stand.

"I love this song!" She yelled, bouncing on her hooves, "I will teach it to everypony back home, and it will be our anthem for battle!"

Her inner warrior was being unleashed...so much so that was sent careening into the same tree Chronos was using, nearly amputating him.

@@Unicorncob,

"be careful where you throw that thing.  You could have seriously hurt me" Chronos said. As he began to try and light the fire, "It is your turn to sing a song" He said smiling at Tyra. He got the fire started and said "Alright the fish are being cooked, we should try and preserve the remaining fish."

Tyra took a deep breath to calm herself, and trotted over to retrieve her axe.

"Apologies my friend," she chuckled awkwardly, returning the weapon to her back, "I tend to get carried away."

She sat back down and tapped her hoof on her chin in thought, then a grin came over her.

"Ah, I do know one song," she nodded, and began singing a rather jovial-sounding song in a peculiar language. Her grin grew wider as she continued, stomping her hoof on the ground.

(OOC: Think of a Scandinavian drinking song, that's what she's got :P)

@@Unicorncob,

Chronos tapped his hoof to it, and sat down up against a tree. The song made him wish he brought some rum. He removed his helmet and set aside. He smiled as Tyra sang her song. He was starting to quietly hit his shield like a drum to the tempo of the song. He didn't even mind the fish blood on his shield and the husk blood on his hooves. He pulled down his coif and continued to hit his shield like a drum.

Tyra continued her song, Chronos' drumming on his shield energising her as her stamping caused a hoof-shaped indent in the earth. Her heart was lost in total clan spirit.

She finished on a high note, punching her hoof in the air with a yell, as if raising a flagon of mead. She looked to Chronos with a grin, feeling proud of herself.

"It is a popular drinking song back home," she explained, sitting back down by the fire, "in our language, of course. We sing it at every feast."

"Aye," she agreed, patting a hoof over her heart, "The Shatterhoof Clan is the greatest family of warriors in the Frozen North!"

She cocked her head to the side, curious. "What of your clan? Have you always been Knights?"

@@Unicorncob,

"I could tell, you didn't seem to be the least bit of scared when that giant walking tree showed up. If anything I think it was scared of you, probably because you have an ax, tree plus ax, you can probably guess." Chronos said before laughing. He actually was starting to like this mare, first she seemed like a nuisance but now she just seemed like one of his normal drinking buddies.

Tyra scoffed, her smirk dripping with pride.

"Nonesense, I would never be scared of such a creature," she declared, and grinned to Chronos, "Walking trees are no match for my axe!"

She lifted the weapon out and placed the hilt on the ground, balancing it upright with her hoof. "It has been my companion since I was old enough to carry it!"

Tyra returned the axe to her back as she inspected the sword, taking in its brilliant gleam and near perfect condition.

"Amazing," she muttered, walking around to admire every inch of the blade as possible, her nose precariously close to the tip, "'tis like it had just been forged!"

"If you know the right skills and magic, you can keep a blade in near perfect condition easily. To tell you the truth, before I got my hooves on it, the blade was dull, full of notches, and well it looked it's age. " Chronos said as he moved his armored hoof across the edge of the steel blade.
