general questions Weird ads on MLP Forums

If you're a registered user of this forum, you might have not seen this. Try sometimes to view the forum when not logged in and see the ads it displays below the banner. You might be surprised. Here's what I've been served with today:

 

Yeah, BIG WTF "Dora the Anal Explorer"?

 

I suppose the forum staff doesn't know about this (well, until now), since this ad seems to be randomly chosen from a set of ads from an external advertising service. It is customized to my country, too, since it also displays some Polish ads. So it's probably not the forum staff's fault that this is being displayed. But I guess they should rethink their cooperation with this particular ads provider.

No it would not be the forum staff that would determine the specific ad that is shown. Interest-Based advertising does not work in that manner. Did you happen to click on the AdChoices icon (the blue and white triangle?) It will usually advise who served the ad.

The advertisement has been blocked.

 

In the future, if you find any problematic or inappropriate advertisements, if you right click the advertisement and copy the link that the ad leads to and send that to the staff in a PM or support ticket, we can get the ad blocked so it won't display anymore.
