What their cheer shows about them (Overthinking the superbowl clip)

We have Rainbow in the background being surprisingly toned down for this cheer. Perhaps this is a reflection on that "Professionalism" Ms Harshwhinny was going on about. Its energetic, but much more reserved than what we normally would expect from our Cyan gal. An interesting show of maturity on her part. 

 

Then we got Flutters, who is getting into the hoof stomping, keeping her energy right to the last second when Pinkie Startled her. Very reminiscent of her days in season one, but having a bit more extroverted elements mixed in. 

 

Applejack has that sassy head movement. I'm liking the attitude she is exuding, a bit more rambunctious and yet fairly feminine as well. 

 

By contrast we got Rarity, who is surprisingly REALLY into this cheer. That revved up duck face looking expression just exudes "THIS! IS! ON!" Its nice to see her growing from season one where even the thought of dirt seemed to make her cringe, here she looks like she's ready to PLAY a game of football (or hoofball), even more so than the more athletically inclined ponies of the group. 

 

Then we have the Princess who has taken to the background. She could of easily been leading it, but it shows a knowledge of her friends strengths that Pinkie would be the one front and center. She is certainly into the cheer as well, fervently stomping with that determined and amusing look. Its interesting to note when Pinkie cheer starts her wings pomf out while Flutters retracts. That is a nice callback to the fact that Flutters can't fly when she is startled, and its interesting that the opposite reaction is in Twilight. 

 

Then we got Pinkie in top form, the build up of her excitement infectious and exactly what a good cheer needs. She Cheers out with abandon, totally in the moment as her character is known to be. 

 

 

It is really evident that a LOT of thought and care was put into this little cameo in a superbowl commercial, and the animation was superb and fluid. It looks at the characters in their most positive and dynamic light and gives hints to character development to come. If this is a preview of what Season 5 is going to be like then I am most excited.

I didn't think about it like that! :3 I wonder who made the ad, who ever they were obviously saw a bit of the show.

lol I think if Rarity would like anything about the game it would be the drama with the fans and their respective teams fighting over who's gonna win x3 hehe

 

but the ad didn't need to be to show accurate in the respect of whether Rarity would really be interested in such things.

Yeah, I too noticed the little details in this ad. It was mostly Twilight and Fluttershy that I noticed, but you're right on the rest of the Mane 6. Nice analysis! :3

Still, this is correct, and a very good show of analysis on your part. Its clear that someone at Hasbro put a lot of thought into this, even if it is for something others would see as "Just football".

I was honestly really surprised to see rarity dressed up that way. I would've thought she'd  say it is uncouth. Its still great to see our official mark in the world
