Erun laughed. "I've been just about everywhere. I go wherever I find trouble, Coincidentally Northrend still has a lot of trouble, but the Argent Dawn seems to have the scourge under wraps. No pun intended." Erun said, thinking that most of the undead had some sort of wrappings on their bodies. "Anyhow, I take it you want to come with and make sure we put this beast down?" Erun asked.

She blows a hair out of her eyes.

 

"Please, it's you who'd be tagging along with me." She said emphatically as she slung her weapon over her back. The dogs got up to follow her, but she snapped finger and held open her palm. The two hounds yielded, one yawning the other sighed.

Erun chuckled a bit as she said this. "If thats how you'd like it, but don't expect me to act like your dogs there." Erun said with a grin. "So I take it we will be heading out shortly then?" Erun assumed. "If so, then I believe I will have to collect my friend from the chapel. He went to go talk to the girl. I didn't think it was a good idea if I had gone to talk to her." Erun wasn't sure what to make of this woman, but he did think she had spirit and that she really wanted to hunt down this wolf.

Ashley turned as she heard the word "companion." She regarded the Worgen, looking over her shoulder. "Who is your companion, by the way?" She asked.

 

She was wearing snug, but not quite form fitting leather gear. Not so tight that she was presenting to every eye available, but not so loose that her outfit could get caught on a branch.

(Very specific with her armor, aren't you? XD)

 

"He's some pandaren monk I met at the Hero's board. He wanted to help out so we grouped up." Erun said "I haven't actually seen him fight, but he claims he can." Erun then shrugged. He raised an eyebrow at Ashley's choice of gear, but then shrugged. If he were a ranger, he probably would've chosen chainmail or something along those lines. Then again, he was thinking from a warrior's perspective.

(I had to pad the message.   This interface is not friendly to light, conversational dialogue. It wasn't meant to be provocative. It is meant to be practical. She's a hunter, she'd skin the animals and make clothes that don't get caught or weigh her down too much.)

 

Ashley nodded, thinking. 

 

"If you're coming, you come now. I'm not waiting up for your friend to be persuaded to join us." Ashley began down the trail. "I've been tracking Remun. I'm not loosing his trail now."

Erun paused for a second and looked back at the chapel. He shook his head. "Alright, but I hope this doesn't end up where we both are about to be mauled and that Pandaren shows up at the last second to save the day." Erun said, though he was pretty certain that was going to happen. Erun followed Ashley, with his swords drawn and at his sides. He carefully watched where he stepped to keep as silent as possible.

 

(Sure sure, I understand)

As the sun began to go down, the two moved through the brush like the predators they both were. Albeit one looking much more the part than the other.

 

Ashley gave the signal to halt, she knelt behind and bush and pointed to a large overgrowth of trees.

 

"That's his den. What does that nose of your's tell you? Is he there or is he out hunting?"

(Hey, If Erun heard you talking like that He'd be offended XD)

 

Erun gave Ashley a look as if to say 'I'm not a dog you know.' Erun sniffed the air quietly and caught wind of Remun. He also thought he heard faint breathing echoing fromm the trees. "I think he is in there, maybe asleep." Erun said quietly to Ashley. He kept his eyes on the trees.

"All right, I'll go around the side, you come at the front and lure him out." Ashley said, ignoring Erun's correctional glare. She pulled the rifle from her back and stalked around the grove.

 

Meanwhile . . . .

 

Lilith sipped her second cup of tea, now more visibly relaxed with Wei Yu's presence.

 

"You had a brother?" She asked at last. 

 

"I did."

 

"I don't have any brothers or sisters. That's why I have Sunshine." She held her doll close. "She almost went away when . . ." Lilith grew quiet once again.

 

"When Remun attacked you?"

 

"Y-yes. When . . . the world . . . came after me" She stuttered out.

Erun sighed and stepped out into the open in front of the trees. He puffed out his chest and then let out a challenging howl. "Owwwwwwwwwwwwww!" He then proceeded to shout. "Come out you ugly mutt. Let me show you what a REAL wolf looks like! FACE ME REMUN!" Erun hoped that his taunts and challenges would draw the beast out, and perhaps even enrage him.

Draw Remun out it did. 

 

The enormous beast barked, a sound more comparable to a demon than any creature of the world. I pounced on what it perceived was the smaller wolf. It's joules were easily big enough to encircle the warrior and crunch it between it's teeth.

Erun was ready and jumped backwards just out of range as the beast pounced toward him. The jaws of Remun snapped shut right in front of Erun's face. "Ha! I knew you were ugly, just not THIS Ugly!" Erun taunted as he ran to the side and slashed at the right side of Remun's face.

The beast grunted, shaking it's head in slight pain and large annoyance. It bared it's teeth, coiled back, ready to pounce again.

 

When suddenly, another direwolf qeual in size to Remun came barreling out of the brush, charging at Erun. His head was low, meant more for a good slam rather than a bite.

"Ah shite." Erun said as he was headbutted and sent flying backward into a tree. Erun grunted as his back hit the tree, but he got right back up. "So there are two of you ugly mutts. This just got interesting." Erun said with a smirk. He charged back at Remun and attempted to slide underneath him, slashing at both of his front paws with both of his blades.

The direwolf whimpered as it collapsed, a tremor resulting form the wolf's girth hitting the dirt resounded out. His paws were not useless, but he was now in pain. Unfortunately, this made him even more angry.

 

The two direwolves circled the Warrior, growling with the force of large engines. When all of a sudden Ashley came flying from the brush, sliding across the dirt. The two monster hounds sniffed around her.

 

"Hello again, my friend." Wei Yu said as he walked calmly from whence Blank came. "It's good fortune that I cam along when I did." He took his place beside Erun.

"How in the fel, did I know this was going to happen." Erun said, shaking his head and laughing at the irony. "Well, we have the two mean monsters now. Unless Ashley there wants to try and tame them, I suggest we get to the part where I get a new dire wolf cloak." Erun stood ready, his back hurt from the impact with the tree, but there was no severe damage.

"Actually, I'm afraid your suggestion has already taken place. Hasn't it Lady Blank?" Wei Yu asked. Ashley stood up, the direwolves at her side and one eye blackened from Wei Yu's fist.

 

"I knew I shouldn't have left that little brat to live."

 

"She's responsible for all of this, Erun. Lilith caught her in the act and scared her into silence."

"Wait what?" Erun was a bit confused for a few seconds before everything clicked. "So she is responsible for the dire wolf attack, but why would she cause the dire wolf attacks in the first place?" Erun asked. "Was she going to kill them afterward and claim glory and gold from their deaths?" Erun asked a bit disgusted at the thought.

"Neither of you will live long enough to find out." Ashley growled through gritted teeth and her pets matched the sentiment. She raised her rifle and pulled the trigger.

She looked over her weapon and Wei Yu coughed to get her attention. He opened his palm to reveal he was holding the flintlock.

 

"One paw acts, the other follows suit." The huntress growled and pulled the hunting knives from her boots.

 

"Remun, Romulus! Kill!"

 

"Who do you want to take, my friend?"

"I'll take on the Wolves, seeing as you have handled Ashley so well." Erun said as he charged the two wolves, He'd work on Remus first considering he had already injured Remus's front paws. Maybe Romulus would accidentally harm Remus even more, given the two beasts were rather large.

 

(Romulus and Remus, as in the the two brothers in which the story states Rome was founded by Romulus? lol)

(You got my reference. Granted it was pretty surface level, but I tried to hide it by obscuring that there was two and changing one's name to "Remun.")

 

Remun snapped wildly at the warrior, his legs weak from the previous attack, while his twin charged Erun full force with his teeth bared.

Erun sheathed one of his swords before charging at Remun first, jumping over Remun's gaping jaws and landing on the beast's back. He grabbed a handful of fur and swung down, holding onto one side of Remun, keeping his body between Erun and Romulus. To get some extra leverage, Erun drove the blade in his other hand into Remun's side and gripped the hilt firmly.

 

(Pretty epic picture I'm painting there. Hope it doesn't seem too OP/godmoddy >.< Basically hes riding side saddle on Remun without the saddle, trying to keep Remun's body between him and Romulus. Also, I catch onto more then my warrior does here, keep the surprises coming XD)

(Just a tad, yeah, but I'll allow it in short bursts.)

 

Remun rolled around several times, trying to dislodge the attacker from his back, while his brother leapt on top of him to add to the confused mess, snapping wildly at his brother's hairy "thorn in his side."

Erun held on for dear life. He was actually having fun despite nearly being crushed by Remun. He jerked his sword loose when Remun came up. As Remun began another Roll, Erun jumped off and cleared Remun and Romulus. He landed in a roll and came back up to his feet, turning to face the two pissed off wolves. He knew he had just angered them, but he knew when opponents were pissed, they made mistakes. Though these were animals, it just increased the chances that they'd make a mistake and leave an opening that he would take.

 

(Being cocky here with my OC. Feel free to give him a good mauling in exchange, but not deadly. Just enough to maybe put some monk healing skills to use? : D)
