Equinox had stood guard at the main gate of town. He was still down after hearing that his mother, Joshpine Sin, had died because of monsters taking her from him. Her body was found in someones basement dead and already decayed from time. After the discovery of her body Equinox went into a chronic depressed state for about a month till he had decided to join the night guards to help defend the town from monsters. Since his time in the guard he has become respected as a well known fighter being able to to deal with the monsters with little problem. But that didn't matter to him, no in fact he wanted to find the one that too his mother away from him and killed her as well as leaving her body in someones basement. He wanted the ones that done it found so he could kill them and never let them see the light of day again.

Dawn smiled as she walked the street of the town and gazed at the night sky. She enjoyed these nightly walks, along with the time it gave her to spy on a certain guard. She didn't know what, but something about him was... different.

Within the nearby forest a few red eyes were visible from where Equinox was at. "Sir do you-" "Yes I see them...get ready they might come to attack" Equinox said interrupting the guard as he picked up a sheathed weapon and placed it on his back. "Make sure to keep one alive....if anything else appears leave it to me alright" Equinox said. "Yes sir" The guard said. Meanwhile an even larger beast was waiting farther back ready to strik once the other monsters are finished off.

Dawn smiled as she climbed on top of the wall that surrounded the city and made it to the ground, before walking to where she knew the guard patrolled. She laid a hand on her dual swords and felt her muscles relax. She was a good fighter and felt confident in her abilities. "I wonder what he's up to today." She thought.

The monsters came out and started their attacks. "Everyone make sure they don't reach the wall alright" Equinox called out. "Yes Sir" THe other guards said as Equinox ran forward before slashing 3 monsters once before sheathing his weapon causing them to die. "Simple monsters..." He muttered before kicking one away. "Something doesn't seem right..." Equinox thought.

 

The beast was blending into the shadows before it had changed, drinking the blood of the innocent guard that it had slaughtered silently only moments before. Growing in size it followed the path, smelling for it's next victim. The first to show was one of three massive heads that checked around the corner and saw the guards that had just killed the monsters though a few had died.

Dawn watched as the fight drew on and unseathed her swords, getting ready to join the fight. "Wonder what he would think if I showed up now." She thought to herself. The woman then noticed the larger beast and smirked. "This could prove to be very interesting."

The beast came out and ate the guards quickly before glaring at Equinox. "You...you really think you could stop monsters..." The large beast spoke. "You will make a great snake, now....KEEP STILL" The monster said as it roared its heads at Equinox and lunged at him who moved out of the way.

Dawn smirked as she walked among the shadows. She was quite inteersted in the fight and was hoping that the guard would somehow maya he to pull off a win. Of course, she would intervene if it became glaringly obvious that he would die.

 

 

(Might as well say that the guard has a secret admirer.)

Equinox sheathed the blade ad disappeared before appearing above the heads. "Die" He muttered before impaling one of the heads and cutting it off. "Gah damn you you ssssly b-" "SHUT UP" Equinox yelled before being knocked back. "I sssee I need to not hold back now" The beast said as it roared before it suddenly changed into a stone dragon like beast."NOW...you can't kill me" The beast said as Equinox sighed. "I'll kill you..." Equinox said

Dawn grit her teeth as she drew her swords. "Maybe he can't kill you, but I bet I can find a way." She thought to herself. The girl wished she had a ranged weapon so she could help from a distance, but that would not be the case. Dawn then broke out into a straight up run, hiding in the shadows when she could.

Equinox looked at the dragon and smirked. "Alright then buddy...I'll stop holding back then also" He said as his sword split and extended before it turned into a scythe. "I'll just have to hit you harder" Equinox said as he rushed forward and jumped up before slaming the weapon down on it's head before landing and bring the blade of the scythe up and cutting it across its eye.

Dawn then leaped out of a tree and drove both of her swords into the creatures back and dragged them down. "Just because you're made of stone doesn't make you unstoppable." She said. "Pride always comes before the fall." The girl then pulled her swords out and drove them back into the creatures skin multiple times.

"Sssimple sscratchesss like that won't hurt me" The dragon said as it turned to Dawn. "Get out of here Miss I don't want another innocent getting killed" Equinox said before jumping up on the beasts back before the scythe changed back to its normal katana form before stabbing the beast in it's head before being thrown off. The beast soon glared at Dawn before it's tailed morphed and was about to fire a spike at her. Equinox pushed her out of the way and tried the deflect the spike but it broke his guard and impaled him through his side on to a tree.

Dawn grit her teeth and glared at the monster. "You really shouldn't have done that." She growled. The girl then formed a ball of energy in her hand and threw it at it. If it didn't kill it, it would certainly provide cover for an escape. The girl then headed for the tree to free the guard.

Equinox had smiled as the dragon reeled back as it started crumbling at it's head. "At least it's dead" he said as he took his blade and broke the large shard that had him impaled to the tree as he fell to the ground with what was remaining still in him. "That was a dumb move...she probably could have protected herself but...what ever...she helped me out at least" He thought as he closed his eyes.
