A deep, sad song for Celestia?

The Fiery Joker made a vid about the ending of Final Fantasy 14 (1.0) and got me to look up the video that he was talking about. I fell in love with the song that was playing during the scene, the one in the vid above. From the second I heard the woman singing I had one image in my head.

The song really reminds me of Celestia, who has been in a position several times now where her lands were threatened and she was unable to defend it like she could a thousand years previously. That hopeless sensation she would of had and how she felt for her subjects as the enemy came upon them, when she could do nothing to stop it but hope that another could save the day. There is also the themes that her kingdom is filled with mortals, seeing them die one generation after another as her time grows longer. Also anyone who has been in a situation where someone they cared about was in trouble and they could do nothing to fix it would easily relate to this, even a child.

Personally I would love to hear Celestia give a ballad along the vain of this song. Maybe not in the context of an impending apocalypse (which is what this song is specifically about), but to really show the weight of a thousand years on the heart of someone who is intimately aware of how fast life is for a mortal and how can get to her at times.

I could see it as something like a scene where Twilight goes to visit her and she overhears Celestia singing something like this while she is alone, and then puts on her royal face to go meet with her subjects for another day.

What do you think of a more somber and serious song for an episode of Mlp? we've had a couple that were close, but I think something like this would bring a new level of depth to the series and the character of Celestia.

"My son. The day you were born, the very forests of Lordaeron whispered the name, Arthas. My child... I watched you with pride, as you grew into a weapon of righteousness. Remember, our line has always ruled with wisdom, and strength. And I know that you will show restraint, when exercising your great power. But the truest victory, my son, is stirring the hearts of your people. I tell you this, for when my days have come to and end... YOU... shall be king."

I dont' really identify that voice with Celestia's a lot, but I see your point.

I would love to see FiM giving a shot to something like this, something that explains the burden of being eternal, or maybe her sorrow and guilt caused by banishing someone she cared so much about. Sadly, the idea of something so deep happening in a show whose primary target is a younger audience would be highly controversial.

It could be, but they ARE tackling some pretty controversial topics in the season five premier so I'm thinking they are feeling a bit daring this season.

Sounds like a great idea, especially because Celestia is very often seen happy and confident, it would be nice to see her singing a sad song. Plus, finding circumstances for this song shouldn't be too hard.

Not sure the younger audience would like it though.

EDIT: ...Basically, what @Shadow Beam said. :P

People don't give enough credit to the younger audiences, I mean we made it through Bambi and Lion king alright right? Sure I cried like a little baby when Littlefoots mother died in land before time but I still liked the movie lol.

These are "old" movies, maybe they care more about the younger audience now...

But yeah I think you're right, if it's not too sad, it should be OK.
