The pertains to the Roleplay Planning & OOC Discussion subform within Roleplay world.

I think that when a roleplay begins and it looking for members it should have the 'Searching' tag, like it is searching for people to join it,

but when the Roleplay begins and the OOC discussion actually begins in the initial thread, the tag should be changed to 'OOC' .

I am constantly wondering if I can join an rp or not (and the number of posts in the thread is not helpful), I think this will be an easy way to find out in their are spots available, or if the thread is now only for the OOC discussion of a current Roleplay.

Thanks (: ~

I can see where you're gettin at, but then again, what about those extra posts where they're asking questions about the RP, or (for instance) when a person tries to sign up and they get rejected? Wouldn't that kinda just clutter up the first 5 or so pages? A new thread should be started in order to keep the subject more clean - as well as be less confusing when someone winds up going to the first page of the OOC thread only to find a bunch of posts about not being able to join and such.

My question is, why doesn't anyone label the OOC threads as (for instance) "The End - OOC" instead of having two threads with the same name? Gets very confusing when trying to wait for someone to post, and when someone does, its to the wrong thread.

Sounds like a good enough idea, although people don't actually listen or read the rules a lot of the time. And I already see a lot of people getting confused over the function of the Searching tag, so they might get more confused. But... it's not really much of a change from usual, I suppose.

I think it should be implemented, I suppose. It'd only be really useful for when before the RP was started though. After that, you could just go to the actual RP thread itself, and it'd tell you if it was Private or Open.

If/when this does get implemented though, I expect you guys to report more inappropriately-tagged threads. :)

Also, if the function of the Searching tag is changed, I'd have to create a different tag as its purpose would be out. Its purpose as of now is to garner interest for vague concepts and ideas. To see if anyone cares, and for them to help you create your story. So I could ask Feld0 to add a new Planning (or Pitch, as I had a third tag that almost made it in when I was creating RP World) tag and leave the Searching tag for people who are looking for those to join for the initial creation of the OOC thread. After the RP was closed, they could at that point change it to OOC.

May be a bit complicated, but it could work.

Having an entirely different sign-up thread to the OOC thread would create a whole different beast, and would mean that RPers would have to create three threads if they want to make an RP. I think two is more than enough and again, I have a lot of unsure people in the system, so three would complicate things quite a bit. Sign ups and OOC should remain in the same thread, as OOC threads don't see a lot of use anyway nor do they usually get big. It makes more sense therefore to consolidate these two functions in one thread, as it wouldn't create that much clutter.

I'll be adding the OOC thing into the rules though, NNL. Also, if you see any threads that really bother you like that, report them so that I can change the title.
