Ocs without back story's

These really should have a backstory, if not one that can be read in full by the other roleplayers than at least one that you know about that is always true every time you play your character. Establishing a backstory is an important part of establishing your character, and it is no fun to play with a character that isn't established. Without a fully established character, all you're really doing is choosing to do what will make your character win a game that isn't supposed to have any winners, it's just choosing to make your character behave based on what the best course of action is in any given situation.

 

What you describe in roleplay terms is basically a munchkin. They are a nightmare to play alongside in a group, speaking from experience here.

not having a backstopry is KNINDA hard unless the OC is a foal an aquires his/her story by participating in RPs  .-. but i also agree a backstory IS an important trait of good OCs

Melanoma is sort of a failed attempt at an evil OC so the original concept got scrapped. As the days went on, Melanoma became nothing more than a ponysona changeling-sona if that's a valid term. 

 

Original concept:

 

Melanoma's original gender was female. What makes her evil is that she is willfully manipulative and cares nothing about how her lies and deceit affect the lives of her victims. She will say whatever people want to hear, whenever they want to hear it and plant all sorts of seeds for her to sow. She aspires to have a cult or at least a personal army of gullible ponies to do her bidding while fooling them into believing that they do the right thing. She's the kind of con artist that would call Starlight Glimmer an "ambitious amateur". Being a Changeling, she can take on any appearance that suits her, making it easier to plant ideas into groups by posing as authority figures.

 

The reason she got scrapped was because I found it incredibly difficult to play her incredibly narcissistic character. Not to mention that she possesses skills that I myself do not posses. It seems I just don't have it in me... I tried, though.
