This. Movie. Oh my GOD, this movie. It's probably the most emotionally impactful thing you'll ever see. It starts off innocently enough; it's about a series of letters between a Mary, little girl in Australia, and Max, a 45-ish man from New York. However, Mary's parents consist of an alcoholic mom and a neglectful dad, and Max has Aspergers and is facing general Aspergers issues. Which is to say, deep shit. The plot starts off with Mary being curious about America, and she happens to grab Max's contact info randomly from the post office. They start mailing each other letters, Max gets a severe anxiety attack because... reasons, and things just keep getting worse and WORSE and WORRRRRRSSSE until you have the most disturbing and tear-heavy scene, ever. And then, SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS, SPOILERS SPOILERS ;(

I've seen it.

It's one of the best animated movies I've ever seen.

I loved it from beginning to end.

The ending is sad, but it's so heart warming.
