Would MLP:FIM interest you if ponies didn't manipulate their world?

If nopony raised the celesial bodies, woke, fed, cared for nature's animals or plants, managed the weather, etc. Would ponies still have a role in their society or in the show that would make you continue to watch? Would you be fine with the concept of ponies having no hoof in managing evey aspect of their world, but allowing the world to care for itself, like the Everfree Forest does, so long as the ponies had slice of life pieces and adventures?

Do you have any opinions on whether such a concept ( ponies willingly letting the earth manage itself, and living peacefully among it, maybe while the mane 6 try to argue againt it and see it best to control th enviornment, like they've been doing all along- nature vs nurture of the earth/ noncnformist societies) would make it into an epiode?

 

Your thoughts on ponies controlling nature to such extents that they do? Are humans the same way?

It would be interesting. Like, if it could happen with us, humans, that one day, suddenly controlling nature is our task, we definitely would freak out. I think it would be a funny episode to see that the ponies don't understand the environmental changes. I would totally watch it.

 

I have never considered as an important thing that ponies can control wather so I would watch.(but it's a nice concept)

The ponies seem to micro-manage their climate just to make sure the same calamity that initially wiped out their original homeland never occurs again. Even though that turned out to be due to the wendigos, i'm pretty sure they'd rather be safe than sorry and handle it themselves rather than let nature take its course. That said. The ponies still have to follow certain rules like allowing seasons and such to occur as other animals need them so they haven't fully divorced themselves from following nature.

 

We also now know that the everfree is governed by the Tree of Harmony so that too is a magical biome, its merely governed by a much more older form of magic. It could be that the rest of Equestria needs ponies to manage everything because such strong magic rarely exists naturally. Discord's chaotic reign might have caused this to magical imbalance to occur.

 

Humans try and control nature, but in reality its more the illusion of control. I could clear a forest and build a house on it but i'm no closer to controlling it than I am the tectonic plates below it or the sky above it. I've changed it, sure, but thats about all we can really do.

speaking of that, i have a sneaky feeling that Equestia has some "diskworld" like qualities to iti n regards to its celestial bodies (basically they are alot closer and very, very small. They even walked to the moon in the comics XD). Maybe the map in Twilight's castle is literally Equestria!

 

If that isn't the case then what the hell kind of orbit is their planet in??. Someone needs to get some kerbals into orbit and find out.
