The barkeep soon returned with two drinks. "Now let's hear those names again young miss"

"Tara Paiper and Arty Sail" Ali replied. "Have you heard of them?"

The barkeep thought a moment and finally said "Ah yeah, nice couple, came here Wednesdays for happy hour. Why do you want to know?"

Ali, overjoyed at the news, failed to answer the barkeep's question, instead replying with one of her own. "Do you know where they were staying in the city?"

The barkeep rolled his eyes as she didn't answer his question, but answered "I'm sure they stayed in an apartment complex near the castle, you can ask the landlord what he knows".

"Thank you for the info!" Ali called out, already halfway out the door, determined to find the landlord.

Strong looked back surprised she was already leaving, he gulped down his drink and ran out after her, "Wait up!!"

"Glad you could make it," said Ali, when Strong had finally caught up.

"I swear it's like you have two speeds. Sprint and stop" said Strong as he strode out to keep up.

The two continue onward to a section of the city with multiple apartment complexes.

 

Slightly agitated, Ali said. "I'll take on the right side of the street if you'll get the left?"

 

((calling it a night here))

Strong nodded "Got it" as they both took off in each direction.

Ali moved in and out of her designated buildings quicker than a bolt of greased lightning. Learning nothing throughout, she simply sat on the side of the road, waiting for Strong to finish.

Strong looked through the buildings, eyes peeled for a landlord. Eventually finding a pony leave the last building. "Are you the landlord?" he asked the pony, he nodded and said "Something i can help you with?". Strong shook his head, "but I know someone who does, follow me" he then led the pony to Ali.

As soon as Ali saw Strong leading a stallion in her direction, she shot up and galloped over.

 

"Mr. Landlord sir?" She asked.

 

"Please call me Mr. King." The landlord replied

 

"Okay, Mr. King. I would like to know the apartment that Tara Paiper and Arty Sail are living in, please?"

 

"Well, young lady, I would love to tell you, but I am required to know by what means you need the information for, first."

 

Slightly agitated, Ali replied with "They're my parents, and I haven't seen them, ever. I was told that they were in one of your apartment complexes, which is why I am talking to you now."

 

Mr. King thought, then nodded, pulled out a piece of paper, saying "Very well, Tara Paiper and Arty Sail, hmm.... It says here that they're in apartment 4D in that complex." while pointing towards the middle complex on the left hand side of the road. He looked up to see that the young lady had vanished.

 

Turning to the other, he asked "Weren't we with another, just shortly ago?"

Strong chuckled and nodded, "She tends to disappear" he said. Be thanked the landlord and headed to the complex

Ali was already halfway up the stairs to the fourth floor, when she stopped. She didn't know why, but she wanted Strong to be at her side for this, so she started back down to find him.

Strong noticed her coming back down the stairs, he trotted up to her "Something wrong?" he asked concerned.

Ali looked up at him. "Nothing, I just want you to be at my side. Now come on!" she said, turning back up the stairs.

Strong smiled and nodded, "Right behind you" he said as he followed.

They worked their way up the stairs to the fourth floor, then walked down the hall to room 4D. Ali reached out her hoof, but hesitated.

 

"I'm so nervous," she slowly said to Strong.

Strong smiled and wrapped a hoof around her shoulders, holding her close, "You don't need to be" he said, he kissed her cheek, "And don't worry, I'm right here by your side"

Ali hesitated once more. "Right," she said, "here I go."

 

She knocked on the door, and soon thereafter there was a gruff voice.

 

"Who's there?" the voice asked.

 

"Ali Finish, accompanied by Strong Hooves. Are you Arty Sail?"

 

There was a long pause, followed by the words "Come on in, you've got a lot to hear."

As the door opened, Strong followed Ali in the house. Not sure of what to think about the gruff voice.

When Ali walked in, she saw that the apartment was rather well kept, and had plenty of brushes, paints, and easels. To be honest, it looked less of an apartment and more of an art studio.

 

They followed the man to a different room, and he gestured for them to sit down.

Strong sat next to Ali, waiting for the pony to speak.
