Concerned Bystander 2,906 July 1, 2015 Share July 1, 2015 In order for any character, especially powerful characters, to be believable it's important that they have 'feet of clay'. The mane 6 definitely accomplish this and are generally well writitten characters, brought to life by talented voice actors. I stand by my earlier remark that they're not particularly complex (not to contradict anyone who thinks otherwise, this is merely my own subjective view), but this is hardly a character flaw given the original intended audience of the show. The characters need to be simple enough to be instantly relatable to the young girls for which the show was created. But simplicity does not preclude depth, which the mane 6 all possess. The main exception I see to this would be the royal sisters, although we haven't seen a great deal of them we have glimpsed a very rich and deep history between them, which I would love to see delved further into to. I would love to see a feature length origin story for those two, especially if it was pitched specifically to Bronies rather than the original target audience (I know it's not going to happen, but I can dream). In that story there would be complexity enough for all.
