BEN could hear the wind picking up. All the life signs had left the streets making Freeside seem like a ghost town. He could see two new life signs, they seemed to be whispering to each other. As they got closer it was clearer that they were kings.

 

One of the Kings looked at Banner "Hey isn't that Haz's robot? You a friend of his?"

"no I just found this robot of his, I found him killing fiends" she paused "I feel almost obligated to care for him, its a long story but anyway I got something to ask you ponies its getting dark and I want a place to sleep because Mr.asshole at the atomic wrangler finally pissed me off enough" she thought a bit "I don't want to owe you a favor so could I buy a bed?"

"Alright let me check with the King." One of the Kings went inside the building and when he came out he said "Since there is a Sandstorm comin', the King said you can stay here for the night. " He said gesturing to Banner and BEN "Come on, let me show you where you and the bot will be stayin' "

 

BEN looked at Banner

"thank you, I forgot that I had good rep with you" she said the last part to herself "while were walking how is rex doing? I always liked that dog" she said as she got to the main room and opened the door for BEN how walked throw "BEN really likes to destroy small things that he cant see, this includes doors also he is blind and only can see life"

BEN could hear the pattering of metal feet. He then heard "Rex!" The Cyberdog came running into the main room. He barked and sniffed Banner and BEN. Rex was happy to see Banner and he could smell Hazmat on BEN.

 

BEN looked at Rex and mimicked something Hazmat had done. He reached out and lightly patted Rex. "Target Analysis: Green"

 

One King member looked at Banner and said "Yeah we know, He broke down my my door a few months back."

"that's the first gentle thing I have seen BEN do" she said listening but not commenting on what the king member said. Banner started to pet Rex but soon stopped "thanks again, you ponies have gotten on my rarely got on good side" she stretched "I want to at least see the king while I'm here"

"Alright, follow me" On of the Kings said before leading Banner and BEN up stairs to the King "King somepony wants to see you"

 

The King smiled and said "Let 'em in"

 

Rex came running back up the stairs and back to the King.

 

BEN just followed Banner's life sign. The voices were familiar to him, and that somewhat confused him.

"hey king remember me?" she asked hypothetically smiling "Rex looks great, I see you got a top notch repair man since I saw you last" she looked around the room and saw he added to his collection of Elvis stuff "I think I know the answer but why do you like Elvis so much?" she asked the King

"Of course I remember you Banner. Yeah, he did it cheap too." The King said, petting Rex. He was about to answer Banner's question but stopped when he saw BEN "Is that what I think it is...  is that BEN?" He asked, standing up.

 

BEN looked at the King "Threat Analysis: Green" He said.

"yeah I guess you guys know how hazmat is" she said as she walked over to BEN and put her hoof around him "I found this guy fighting fiends, he has a bunch of holotapes of how he was made if you want to listen to them you can" she said to the king

"yes I know Hazmat. He is a close friend of mine." The King said. "you found him fighting fiends? I guess the apple doesn't fall to fare from the tree..."

 

BEN looked at Banner when she put her hoof around him.

 

"He recorded how he made BEN? Hazmat was never the one to record things like that" The King said looking at BEN, who turned to look at the King. The King removed BEN's helmet, revealing the metal casing that protected BEN's mainframe and other vital parts. The visor in which worked as BEN's eyes was cracked and the sensor modules behind the visor were also damaged. On BEN's neck was a rectangular piece of metal that had 'G5-B3N' on it. On BEN's forehead was a trefoil (radiation symbol) "Yep this robot is Hazmat's alright, that is his mark." The King said.

 

(BEN was actually the one who was recording all the holotapes, he has a Holotape recorder inside him)

"I could probably tell that from his name being Hazmat anyway do you think that mechanic could fix this robots sensors? he seemed to fix Rex ok and he is a unique cyborg what's his name?" she asked and then thought of something else as well "the holotape that was the most resent was Hazmat saying that he was going to look for BEN's personality chip in appalooza, you know that place full of ceasers ass wipes, I was thinking about going there to find out what happened"

"The mechanic was a mare name Fixer, if you are looking for her, She left Freeside a few days ago. said something about heading down to Novac." the King said. "Hazmat is in Appleooza? You're planning on going there too? When?" He asked as he put BEN's helmet back on him

 

BEN looked back at Banner.

"As soon as I get a few ponies to join me I guess, that or a get a rocket launcher and quite a few missiles" she thought a moment "the way I see it is I need fire power, pony power or both to survive all of troops when I get there. the reason I am also going there is because I don't have much else to do, other than search for Chain...by the way do you know anything about where he is yet?" she said with concern

The King shook his head and said "Sorry I don't know where Chain is. but if your looking for a pony who may help you. I know one, and I know where he is. His name is Bane and he hangs out at the 188 Trading Post" He said.

 

BEN looked at the King, think he said BEN, not Bane.

"well thank you, I will go to there and then to Novac to find Fixer" she said a little said that he still knew nothing about Chain "its getting late I better go to sleep, no sleep isn't good for a pony" she said starting to head for the room they gave her "BEN lets go"

BEN followed Banner to the room. BEN had seen the action the Banner had been doing to open the doors and he mimicked it once the made it to the room. He reached towards the door and opened it. He looked at Banner.

 

Inside the room there were 2 beds, a nightstand, a mirror, a lamp ect. The usual bedroom essentials.

"you finally opened up the door yourself, does that mean your learning? most robots don't do that...just another reason why you are unique I guess, Haz really knows what he's going well I hope he knows" she said as she went to one of the beds turned off the lamp "power off even robots need sleep" she yawned and right before she fell asleep "I wonder if you dream of electric sheep"

BEN closed the door once Banner was asleep. He went to a corner and shut down for the night to not waste his energy.

"G-5-B-3-N Online. System check: Weapon Systems: Online, Voice Module: Online, Audio sensors: Online, Visual Sensors: Damage detected, Energy Levels: Power at 94.5 percent. Objective: Eradicate any and all Zebra invaders" He said before looking at Banner who appeared to be sleeping "G-5-B-3-N reporting for duty."

 

(if you haven't noticed the RP is taking place 2 years after the second battle of Hoover Dam, with an NCR victory.)

"huh yeah I'm up" she said then got out of bed "lets go to the trading post, Bane might be there and if he isn't then I'll" she looked at BEN "we'll wait" she said before leaving the room. she said goodbye to the king and went to the trading post "and now to have some kind of breakfast" she said sitting next to the trading post then took out some maize "all those abandoned farms give me a lot of this" she started eating the maize

BEN looked around the trading post. He saw a stallion sitting at a table, drink something.

 

The stallion looked at BEN and set his bottle of sparkle cola down. The stallion was in Riot Gear (?) and on his back was a Battle Rifle (?). "What are ya looking at Ranger..."

 

BEN just continued staring at the stallion, he looked familiar.

 

The stallion set his battle rifle on the table, hoping BEN got the idea.

Banner finished her maize and saw the pony looking at BEN and vice versa. she got up then went to BEN's side "he's not actually a ranger, he is a robot with a rangers armor" she explained "are you Bane? I need a pony to join me in a quest to applooza, I don't like those sexist bastards I just want to find out more about this robot and how a pony named Hazmat is" she thought for a second "my other quest in the wasteland is to find a pony named Chain Brace I doubt you know anything though"

The Stallion looked at Banner "Yeah, I'm Bane... and if you want me to join ya, it is going to cost ya. I'm not running a charity here." Bane said before looking at BEN and Banner from head to hoof, examining them. "300 Caps, and I'll join ya and your... lad." Bane said, not sure the gender of the Robot. He put his battle rifle back on his back.

 

(Bane has an accent)

 

BEN looked at Banner.

"why not" she gave him the 300 caps "you follow my lead, so were going to Novac to fix this guys eyes" she looked at her pipbuck for a second "the map is marked but before we go or while were walking I want to know the pony how will be helping me" she looked at him taking another maize out of her bag

"Alrighty then. What do you want know?" Bane asked standing up and putting the caps in his Saddlebag.

 

BEN looked  at Bane "Threat Analysis: Green" 

 

Bane looked at BEN "What does he mean by Threat Analysis: Green?" He asked, feeling somewhat insulted.

 

BEN looked back at Banner.
