The thing is, I think people are too caught up with maintaining their masculinity and think that watching the show will strip that away from them and they automatically assume how the show is, it is not like DORA or anything, the show is actually sophisticated more than Spongebob actually. The problems and lessons from MLP are far stronger than Spongebob. Let's compare, 1 episode of Spongebob, the one where Spongebob tries to help Patrick impress his parents, the solution, act more stupid than your friend to make Patrick seem smarter... what!? MLP, Lunar Eclipsed episode, Twilight has to teach Luna how to interact with other ponies because of the sheer amount of time she has been alone, a totally legit, relatable problem.

 

See my point that MLP is more sophisticated than haters think and are judging the book by it's cover having a "stop liking things I don't like" attitude. The haters need to grow up and just leave the comments to themselves.
