FryTheBrony 0 September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 (edited) I'm starting to think that Equestria Girls will become an annual movie series that will be shown every year.In 2013, we had Equestria Girls, the first. In 2014, we had Rainbow Rocks, and now we have Friendship Games in 2015.There might be a new movie next year in 2016.The movie series might go on until the show is cancelled.Does anyone else think this might be annual? Thunderlane 550 September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 I hope not. I mean, the show's intention is to sell toys, and EG must have made a ton for Hasbro, so you can see why they want to keep making new movies so they can sell new dolls. It makes sense for it to do so, but I think the reason we have to wait for so long between seasons and also the reason we had the mid-season break is because DHX have to dedicate a lot of their time to creating a feature length film every year. So, personally I think you could be right in saying it's every year, but I hope it isn't... I play loads of Rocket League and GRID 2 on PC if you want to join me at some time. SolyWack 482 September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 I'd rather it not be an annual movie. It should be it's own TV show. More than likely it will still be on when FiM ends in 2017, if it ever exists. But I won't hold my breath.
Surprise 1,003 September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 Pretty much what AppleJack says. Plus I thought the other reason they taking the yearly route is because they want to focus a lot on FiM. I would feel bitter to no end if it yearly. Some characters need more development in that world, and I want to see more of Sunset Shimmer. In a way she reminds me of Vegeta, that were once evil but later reformed to be good. I already seen enough of what FiM has to offer and the fact I stop with season 5 is because it seems like they running out of ideas for the show after Twilight becomes a princess. Scarecrow 44 September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 Well that would mark that hasbro is getting desperate.
Shimmer Down 668 September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 While I'm afraid that this will happen, I've been less and less disappointed with the EQG movies. EQG1 sucked. The plot was bad and full of holes, not nearly enough character development, and still not incredibly fond of the overall fanficcyness of the whole thing. Twilight goes through a mirror and ends up in the world of humans? Gross. BUT, the songs were catchy as hell, and the lesson in the end was very fitting of MLP. Plus not all the character designs were bad. EQG:RR - MUCH better. Love love LOVE the reformed Sunset Shimmer, the songs got even CATCHIER, and while the method of contacting and transporting Twilight was contrived as hell, it felt better than "some mystery pony stole my crown through a magic mirror in the middle of the night during the one week the portal is open. EQG:FG - I. AM. HYPE. Sunset Shimmer: The Movie. It's looking like we won't get Equestrian Twilight and will focus more on Sunny running the Humane 6, and them trying to befriend CHS Twi (or whatever the Shadowbolt HS is called). With any luck, if we do see more movies in 2016 and/or 2017, the writing will continue to improve. Plus, Hasbro's end goal is to make money. If EQG makes money, then they'll make more EQG.
