N stood in front of professer Star's lab. He was one of the 5 young trainers that would get a pokemon today. He looked around him and saw the other four trainers. They looked just as eager as him. Professer Star came out of the building. "Ahh there you are! Today is a big day for you 5. Today you'll choose a pokemon! Your companion, friend and comrade." Said Prof star with a massive smile. "Follow me young ones!" Said Star. Everyone went into the building.

 

Prof Star presented 5 pokeballs. "There is one pokemon contained in each pokeball here" Said Star. He the released each individual pokemon. N instantly laid his eyes on the turtle. "I'll choose the water turtle Star." Said N

Enzo watched as N picked the water turtle, and eagerly set his sights back on the remaining choices.

 

"Alright we got the a chimchar...."

 

Said Pokémon looked at him with large, hopeful eyes.

 

"A charmander.."

 

This one jumped u and down within it's pokeball

 

"and..."

 

Unlike the other Pokemon, this one did not smile or jump. No, it had it's about raised into the air, eyeing the other Pokemon with a look of disdain. An air of superiority surrounded it, his piercing red eyes turned to observe Enzo as if staring into his very soul and looking into his deepest, darkest secrets.

 

Enzo made his choice, and reached to grab the green creature.

 

"I'm taking the snivy"

Red looked at the pokemon laid before him when he looked a what looked like a fire monkey. It interested him but Red did not chose him, he chose Red as the monkey cringed on to his face knocking him over in the processes "I'll take this guy...wait this is a girl" he quickly pulls the monkey off his face and stands up "its a chimchar right?" he looked at the monkey again "yep I'm not changing her name, how cares for naming if it doesn't change anything"

Johnathan watched as three Pokemon where chosen and he realized that if he waited any longer he would be left with whatever pokemon the others didn't want so he started to get serious  He studied the remaining Pokemon at the edge of the counter, The Totodile was on it's own trying to catch a fly while the Charmander was on the edge of its seat wanting to be chosen. The Totodile was far too adorable to pass up so John went for it "I want that one!" He said pointing the the Totodile.

"And I'll take that charmander there then" Zach said as the flaming tailed lizard walk right up to him. "aww he is so cute" Zach said. "anyway let's just forget I said that" he said blushing slightly. "what's next" Zach asked hoping no one commented on his little 'so cute' moment

"we could do what some new trainers to and fight with are new pokemon, that or we could just go and probably never see each other until the next town...I think a group would be better though and as I suggested it I think I should be the leader, that is unless you want char here to burn your pokemon to a crisp...then get healed by my mom of course but still my point is made" He says looking at the other trainers

N shrugged. "I think we should travel as a group, how ever i don't think we need a leader" Said N. He looked down at his squirtle and rubbed it's head. Which earned a sigh of aprooval from the pokemon. N chuckled "Heh, cute" He looked at the two other trainer. "What about you guys? Any suggestions on how we tackle this?" Asked N

Johnathan looks at the pokemon trainers "How about we solve it through a pokemon battle. Whoever wins gets to be the leader!" Johnathan says with a smile his Totodile jumping enthusiastically along next to him already snapping his jaws ready for a fight.

"that's what I was thinking" Chimchar jumped on his head "chim chimchar!" it shouted at the others looking ready for a fight "I think he agrees" Chimchar jumps off his head and next to Totodile "chim chim char!" the pokemon says pounding on his chest almost looking like gloating "girl lets think about this a little, its not like using scratch over and other while just taking are turn will work"

"I think We should stick together, wait you think your chimchar can beat my charmander that's crazy." Zach said. "charmander can kick chimchar's flaming butt into next Sunday." he said smiling "ain't that right charmander." "Anyway let's just get going I am leader."

"like were going to just let you become the leader!" "chimchar!" they said in unison as chimchar goes face to face with charmander growling at him "I say a three way fight is in order, unless one of you want to join in" Red said looking back to the two other trainers behind him

Realising his group's discussion was very relevant to the reason he chose his Pokemon, Enzo looked to his Snivy for guidance. And couldn't help but laugh. Despite being unable to speak, the snivy had already proven himself to be the arrogant brat he was, somehow giving EVERYONE ELSE a stink eye as if sensing a leadership role being chosen between them.

 

It was obvious that his Pokemon didn't want to be under his comrades.

 

Lifting up the pokeball high in the air to show the other trainers, Enzo said

 

"My Pokemon seems to disagree with you guys being leaders"

"So a Pokémon battle it is, ready charmander," [charmander] "charmander ember." the blast from the attack hit chimchar straight in the face. "Haha. Alright now run charmander and keep your distance. Your up what you going to hmm red. this is all for fun we are still friends right red."

"doesn't mean we won't hold back!" Chimchar brushes the ember off "fire spin!" Chimchar looked at him like he was crazy "really? ok fine, let him come to us and if anyone comes to you ember them" Chimchar looked a little disappointed it was playing the defensive instead of attacking but he was fine with it since that means he won't get tired from all the others unless they attacked him

John gives a small smile. "Totodile use rage on Charmander from behind." He knew winning would be near impossible if he entered the fray so soon but, he didn't want to be leader instead he wanted to show his tactical prowess and maybe throw the match at the last second, for now though his stratagy was simple turn the fire type pokemon's attention away from each other and on him. Te pokemon where still clumsy so if he put his Totodile in the right spot he could get Snivy burnt and then with the buff from rage take out the fire types only leaving the Squirtle as his only competition. Totodile slammed Charmander with a direct hit of rage completing the first step of the plan.

"Charmander! You alright buddy." [char charmander] "alright, so Jonathan attacking a fire type from behind with a water type a cowards tactic. But we will deal with you later." Zach said his voice calm. Alright then. Use ember again! Now red I hope you know ember is a ranged attack." The small flames rush twards chimchar "you can't win. If she tries to doge use scratch!" [Charmander.]

Looking at the snivy in his hand and shrugging, Enzo released his Pokemon.

 

"By the way, I'm naming you Royalty"

 

Out of his pokeball, the snivy jumped into a table, observing the battle below him with his usual air of superiority. Huffing, vines extended from his 'collars' and pulled on the cables holding up the hanging lights above the battlefield, sending them crashing down on the pokemon's heads.

 

Royalty then said something in his language, similar to a mother lecturing her children.

 

He then let out a huff of distaste and jumped back to his perch on Enzo's server

Chimchar saw the hitting of ember, scratch and the lights, in his mind then thought of something great, he dogged out of the way of ember and as charmander used scratch he got hit by the light that almost his chimchar "I didn't even say anything but now use scratch!" using the advantage Snivy unknowingly gave he started scratching at the trapped charmander

John stepped away from one of the crashing lights. "Interesting" His smile grows "This is magnificent for a first battle. He says I think  the leader at this point is becoming clear. Though I'll need to wrap things up." Suddenly John becomes less menacing and more more enthusiastic "Lets finish this buddy!" Totodile's eye flashed as he readied to do another rage attack the power from the last one building this one up.

"Charmander No! Johnathan I need your help please get that light off charmander." Zach said his calm voice replaced by panic. "sorry about the whole cowards tactic thing. he said a tear and running down his cheek "Enzo cheap move using the lights." Zach said glaring daggers at Enzo.

Enzo raised his hands at the accusation.

 

"Not my idea" he said, his eyes darting to the Snivy on his shoulder, who was giving a shit eating grin at the angry trainers. 

 

Raising his vines once again, he whipped the ground at chimchar's and totodile's feet, startling the 2 pokemon.

Johnathan stepped back "How do you think I plan to end this?" Totodile leaped over Chimchar and smashed the light traping Charmander with Rage building the state even higher and his eye flashed again but, this time it was aimed towards Chimchar then released it all into a devastating water gun. With the battle over John returns to his happy self "Yah! I won my first battle as a trainer!" He then stops to look around "Though it may not have gone to plan his says looking at the smashed lab. "So anyway who's the leader?" He asks forgetting the whole point of the battle.

"I don't think that we need a leader but I'd say that N would be the best choice after all he didn't join the fighting" Zach said looking at N and smiling. "what do you say red, Johnathan, Enzo? Oh and Enzo keep your Pokémon under control. Just a thought but I don't want any more lights falling on our Pokémon."

"stupid rage, stupid water types, stupid Snivy" he muttered to himself pulling Chimchar back in the ball "yes lets give N it, better than Enzo and his uptight starter that I wish Chimchar could have burned" Red breathed "now can we get are pokemon healed and are pokeballs? I am going to catch a spearow and mankey in the next town" he says going up to the professor

"I don't mind N being the leader, but I'm certain a certain snake Pokemon with a superiority complex does."

 

Enzo shrugged, fondling the pokeball, trying to figure out how to recall Royalty.

Meanwhile, snivy hopped off Enzo's shoulder and lashed out his vine whips at the victorious totodile, the type advantage proving too much for the water Pokémon to handle. The totodile fainted, and the Snivy picked him up and threw him into Jonathan's arms with a smug grin.
