The eyes of the gathered foals stared wide eyed, enraptured by the ethereal display dancing over their heads. The speaker of this tale painted a picture as vividly with her words as with her magic, every sentence a chapter unto itself and every phantom a legend as it drifted by.

With the closing of her legend the foals whined in disappointment. Little did she know though, she had another audience member looking on, older than her usual demographic. Hooded as he in the golden bath between Luna' night and Celestia's day, he was not clearly apparent beneath the tree in the Baltimare park. Neverheless he watched and listened as the tale was finished and the foals scampered away.

@@Steel Accord,

As she gathered her cards, Fantasy Moon let out a deep breath.  So many words for such classic tales of rewarded endeavors and punished evil.  Lots of magic as well.  But she saw the foals leave the park with their parents, bouncing up and down excitedly about her stories and other innocent pleasures.  No payment, but the warm feeling of knowing they enjoyed the stories was worth more than all the bits in the world.

"Alright, home it is," she said to herself with a content smile, levitating the cards into her saddlebags and making her way out of the park.  She began to slow to a stop though, some part of her feeling she was being watched.  She passed by the hooded figure, looking in the other direction, briefly stopping to shield her eyes from the sun.

"The rewarded servant and the punished abuser, the diligent mare ascended and the cheater a looser. A legend oft re-told but never looses it's splendor. Pardon me Ms. I hope you don't mind another audience member." The hooded figure pulled off his hood to reveal a dreadlocked Zebra with shady blue eyes and a warm smile. He was actually sitting upon a resting pad that he had set up, for what purpose it was hard to discern from sight.

Fantasy Moon whirled around, her denim-blue eyes wide with surprise at the sudden voice.  She calmed somewhat when the zebra basically summed up her stories in a nutshell.  Another story-lover?  And a zebra at that...  She simply shook her head, still looking a tiny bit perplexed.  Not wishing to be rude and just walk out like that, she said,"No problem."  There was a pause as she tried to decide whether to leave or say something else.  Or even to do neither.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for fear to dip I just wanted to compliment you on your showmareship." He waved his hoof and remained seated, trying to cast a non-threatening profile to the mare. From this she could see that his fur had something of a grayish blue tint on the "white" stripes meanwhile the black ones had a certain sheen to them.

Fear to... dip?  What's that supposed to mean?  Oh well, I have to get back.  Fantasy Moon's response was just to nod with a smile and leave.  Her saddlebags felt lighter than usual, but she didn't think much of it.  But near the spot were she held her storytelling session, there was a thick, brown book with a blue butterfly being drawn by a white pencil.  The whole thing appeared to be tailor-made and used quite a lot.

"Excuse me miss? I believe you dropped this." Ezekiel said as he caught up to her with the book on his hoof as he offered it to her. It was thick, brown and had a butterfly being drawn on it with a pencil. Ezekiel presented it to her with a warm smile on his face.

Fantasy Moon's head snapped around, then relaxed once more when she saw the friendly zebra and her book.  Her eyes widened with surprise and recognition, then she grinned and said,"Thanks."  Then she paused.  "Did you-"  She was interrupted by a certain small serpent who decided to make his presence known by flying seemingly out of the book and tilting his head at Ezekiel.

"Ah, hello my friend slender and long. To ask for a kiss, would it be wrong?" Ezekiel leaned over to the serpent, who's tongue darted across his cheek, causing the Zebra to chuckle. "What a good pet is he, so well behaved and not fussy." Ezekiel rubbed under the snake's chin lightly.
