Neo watched her, not really questioning how she managed to make an obstical course appear because, it was magic and it defies the laws of the universe. He yawned and watched.

Even though the Church of Treveria (Similar to Catholicism, and Known as the Cult of the East to the Equines) usually is okay with most magic, they frown upon Dark and Blood Magic, they lack the influence to actually cause the outlawing of the magic. Unicorn Magic and Celestianism (Known as the Cult of the Horses by the Treverians) is also frowned on and outlawed in most of Eastern Treveria.

blast, shield, dagger, latch, hole, sense. She thought rapidly as she went throw the course when she was hit by a ball of magical energy trying to sense for what to do next. The course dissipated as she got hit back to the trees Neo was under "ow" is all she got out before passing out from pain and magic use

(she got about half way and would be sent back to the start no matter what)

Neo poked her and said "Are you alright?" He asked before noticing she had passed out. He pulled some smelling salts out of his bag and opened it. He moved it near her nose to wake her up. "Wakey Wakey Eliza." He said as he moved it to her nose so she could inhale it.

she smelled it and woke right up "ahhh" she yelped thinking what just happened "oh right" she looked up a little to where the course was "failed" she hits her head back on the ground still feeling weak "I hope this rain stops soon" she rolls over to where she was before looking sad "did I at least look cool till I failed? Or focused?"

"That is one way of putting it..." He said before pulling her back up "Hey, you were doing good job for the most part. Don't starting getting sad over one failure." He said. 'even though you failed pretty hard' He thought. He looked at her "You need to be more aware of your surroundings."

"I know I need to be more aware, that's why I was using a sensing spell...maybe I could be using it while walking or looking around? But I don't know if that can even work as magic sensing needs absolute focus to work" she thought of how to improve "I know it was just one failure but still" an idea passed by her a second but she thought is was stupid I mean it was a magic test.

 "You shouldn't rely on magic, it will only hurt you when it fails you" He said before looking at where the course was. "You got better hearing, sense of smell, you got whiskers, and you have better reflexes then a human just because you're a cat, use them" He said not caring about political correctness.

 

(Whiskers allow cats to sense vibrations in the air, such as movement)

"I know but it's a magic test, I won't use magic for everything but from what your saying its like your saying that I would need the skill of highly advanced algebra while I am running away from something, they don't fit together" she turned away from him "fine next time I'll try but right now I'm tired and its raining" she closes her eyes

"Alright" He said, leaning against the tree. He wasn't going to just sit there and wait for the rain to start "I'm gonna take a nap, wake me up when the rain stops" He said before closing his eyes. He crossed his arms and turned his head towards the road. He slowly began falling asleep.

Neo didn't realize Eliza was already asleep by the time he said that and then a few hours passed as they slept. Eliza woke up to see a man that was not Neo looting her purse "like hell you will" she said to the man how got startled by her. She made the hand axe like she did before "leave, I know how to use dark magic and I'm not afraid of a petty thief" she was not afraid but the thief sure was and ran away without her purse "good...Neo the rain stopped" she nudges him

 Neo opened his eyes "Huh?" He said as he looked around and saw that the rain was gone. He stood up and looked around. He stretch and yawned before looking at Eliza and said "Lets get back to walking, I was hoping we would be able to reach the town before nightfall... now that is impossible" He said, checking his pocket watch.

"even if we don't make it I bet we will be fine, I'm confident in my and your abilities that we will be safe, maybe not harmed, but safe" she said doubting that a little from what happened earlier but believed in it more from fending off that thief "also if we walk fast or run in intervals, I bet that we may not even see those creepy things" she put her purse in her pocket and started to walk much faster than they did before

"It is 1 PM and Baron's Hold is still 20 miles away. If we are lucky, there is probably a side road inn like on most Major Roads" He said as he walked also. He moved somewhat slower then her so he was about 1.7 feet behind her. He put his pocket watch into his pocket and said "Also, one does not simply fend off a Banshee..."

"that would be good to have a rest stop...also what did you mean by one does not simply fend off a Banshee? I'm still new to the whole monsters of this world as my family wanted nothing to go with any of that crap" she said keeping the pace hoping that the time doesn't go by to fast so that they die a horrible Banshee death

"Banshees are ghosts, you can't even touch one. Also I doubt you will be able see one, but you will hear it. Its wailing in the night... Hearing a banshee's wail means that a loved one, or a family member will die soon the next day." He explained as he walked "I never hear them... probably because I don't have any loved ones or family members, but an old 'pal' of mine heard one right before his mother died."

"you may not be able to touch them but" she makes her fist engulfed in darkness "I think I can somehow" he stopped the magic on her fist and kept walking "well I have tons of family...dear god I don't want to hear that scream, I would be devastated by any death in my family" she felt a little urgency to get to some shelter now

"It doesn't really matter, you will hear one sooner or later in life. They are warnings of events they cannot prevent themselves, trying to warn the living of the event in the hope that they may prevent it." He explained. He looked around and said "Banshees are not what you should be scared of, it is the Nandi..." He said. 

 

He knew that she didn't know much about the creatures in the wilderness, and he knew that the Nandi is only found in the far south of the Savana region, on the Evarius-Treverian border. So he was just saying this to scare her for a laugh.

"uh...what are Nandi? I don't even know how to describe what that sounds like in words" she started to worry about it a little but had another thought that scared her more "I'm so far away from home I cant possibly prevent a death about to happen, what if I hear more than one? Will more die?" she was freaked out by both things he said to her

"If you here multiple Banshees wailing, then a very important Political or Religious person will die..." He said before looking at her. "The Nandi is a Powerful, Lion sized Wild Dog that climbs trees. It comes out at night, going on a massacre of Humans, Dragons, and other animals. Killing any living it comes across, but it only eats the brains of its victims. " He said.

"I really, really, really hope we don't encounter a Nandi...or hear any Banshees" she as getting uneasy with this walk as she started looking around at all the trees around since she was freaked out now about what could happen. "Lets talk about something else, anything at all...how about why you pick pocketed me when we first met? Was it because I looked like I had money and you had little?"

 "You looked too smart to trick, but it looked easy to simple take your wallet. I was mistaken... If you hadn't caught me; You wouldn't be here, and you would be a few hundred G poorer..." He said to her "Not sure which outcome I prefer" He said under his breath. He looked forward and saw that she wasn't looking at him. He smirked and made the best growling noise he could to scare her.

"ahh!" She summoned a dark hand axe and sliced behind her, just missing Neo's face "oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to...wait you made that noise didn't you?" She put two and two together and didn't even want to mention the whole thing he said before. She desummoned her hand axe "your suck a child" she kept walking

He laughed "I'm just fucking with you, have a sense of humor..." He said walking behind her. "So back on topic... How did you catch me trying to pick pocket you that day, but you haven't been able to catch me pick pocketing you the past few days?" He said, referring to the times he snatched her wallet to mess with her.

"I spotted a few shifty looking characters so I kept a close eye on my purse...it had some special things for Malinda that I got, it was a little present for my gratitude" she looked up "I hope she liked it...also I know you will return my purse when you take it so I have no worries about that" she keeps walking a little less scared of her surroundings

"yeah..." He said as he remembered that he did use money from her wallet 5 towns back to bribe a guy to get Eliza's family off their backs for a little longer. He then remembered a few things that happened at the last town. He looked at her and asked "How come a few times in the last town your face got all red?"

 

(remember he doesn't have a formal education so his vocabulary is really all around the place, he knows some very strange, non-common sense words like Hippocampus and Caruncle, but he also doesn't know some common sense words like Blush and Photosynthesis.)
