Nightlight thought about the proposition, keeping the note he was to chase in his mind while also maybe having some bonding time with another 'hero' or so would be nice.

 

"Well-" He paused as Cipher simply took off with her wings and flew over somewhere else. "-What...dammit. "

 

A bit very much annoyed that she simply wandered off without even hearing what he had to say on the invite Nightstar really begun questioning the mares sanity... something was just awfully wrong from the scene earlier to this.

 

Eventually his hooves got into work and since the inn was far away he had quite the run between rooftops. Eventually making it he panted lightly, rooftop jumping over half of the city is never a fun experience... .

"Sure, coming up!" Inn Keep announced, filling up a tankard with rum from a tap near the counter and retrieving an ice cold can of coke from the fridge.

 

"Anything else?"

 

Inn Keep had a second look at the pony, when he recognized him.

 

"Aren't you the pony from the explosion just now?" He asked in his usual tone. No suspicion or animosity was in his voice.

"Glad to see someone noticed," said Hooligan as he began to mix the coke and rum together, "not a single pony tried to stop me. Or at least no pony successfully stopped me." Hooligan smiled and drank his rum and coke.

"Delicious," said Bedlam happily, "oh and Ci is meeting us on the roof."

Hooligan smiled as he put his bits on the counter, "thanks for the drink Inn Keep," said Hooligan as he got up from the counter, "it's good to see there's still one inn that doesn't descrimnate cause I wear a mask." Hooligan waved goodbye to Inn Keep teleported to the roof the inn.

Inn Keep waved a hoof. "Yeah, whatever, just don't start anything here and i'm ok with you." he stated. He raised an eyebrow and looked upwards. "And who's Ci, and what's going on on my roof"

Bolt waited on the roof for Hooligan to come. She saw Hooligan teleport to the roof. "Hello, Hooligan. Hi, Bedlam,"she said. "Just so you know, this isn't a date. Just a dinner. No kisses. No romantic scenes. And no repeat of Monte Carlo. Got it?"

 

She continued. "And....I invited you because...partially because..... I wanna show you something when we get there. Something you haven't seen before...."

"You don't need to worry just because I had feelings for you doesn't mean everytime we are hanging out I'll consider it romantic. Unless you want it to get romantic," Hooligan said with a joking wink. Hooligan ran to the edge of the roof, "now come on I'm dying to see what you have to show me."

Hooligan chuckled, "we just ate an entire jar of pickles."

"i know but i have a fast matabolism."

Hooligan jusy rolled his eyes and went through the portal. "Nice place you got here," Hooligan said to Cipher. Hooligan smiled when he saw Bill on the throne, "hey Bill. It's good to see you again. Still yellow i see. Pardon the blasphemy but have you thought about wearing something a little more purple?"

"Uh....maybe you shouldn't mention that... Bill's got a grudge against Tad..." Bolt whispered in Hooligan's ear. Bill's eye narrowed a bit.

 

"Let's go somewhere else, I wanna show you that thing I was talking about...." She pushed Hooligan to her room. "You ready to see it, guys?"

Hooligan's grin widened, "of course I'm ready to see it. I've been ready since you told me. Scratch that I've been ready since I was born," said Hooligan who was practically bounching off the walls.

"That's a lie," added Bedlam, "Hooligan just wants an excuse to be excited."

"It's true. So can you please just show us what it is already?"

Bolt smiled as she raised her cape to reveal a cutie mark. "I've only shown this to you two and my family." It was a red lightning bolt with a yellow triangle around it.

 

"I never showed this to you because I thought you'd laugh or something. But when I got to know you I thought I should show you."

Upon meeting Cipher at the rooftop he was surprised to see the masked pony meet them too... Giving him a glare Nightlight simply turned away, quickly putting his mask back on and simply teleporting away.

Rolling out the note while distanced he read the adress upon it... "There is a police station on that street... bingo. "

 

Materializing his uniform and revealing him simple coat and mane alongside his arrow tips cutie mark Nightlight wandered down to the street. Upon getting close to the police station he witnessed all the medical teams and the area surrounded. "What..." Running quickly over he investigated the scene, completely shocked by it before luckily stumbling over the note alongside some other paper files on the floor, picking it up and reading it. 

 

"He did this..? "

 

Standing there for a while Nightlight burned the note, unable to believe it before breaking into a gallop back to his home.

 

It wasn't long, several turns here and there before he reached a simple apartment block, writing in the password for the door and entering, taking the long stairs up to his room.. Nr 47, a calm medium sized flat, quite simple but yet rather well decorated.

 

Falling down and finally resting Nightlight pulled out the note again. "Where could you be you bastard..."

Walking through his old base he turned on the lights. There were not windows inside, outside you could see windows that never lit up. The building itself looked like it was abandoned. Inside there were machines for training, a chamber looking door which led to his personal training room. On the wall were two pony skeletons hanging on wooden shield looking decorations with a third one being empty, underneath them were their names. The last corner of the base except for the countless paper filled desks and tables was one single trophy case. Inside there was a mask quite like his. Exception to that its a sad face. So, he took off his mask and put it on a table and looked at the mask inside the trophy case ''If only'' he said before going through some of the paper piles.

 

He found what he was looking for, a single knife which he put out on the floor in the open. The knife had a black blade and a white handle, he then put on his mask again and went into his private training room which was in total silence... Nothing was heard in it, it was also in total blindness until he opened the door. There was no dust and as soon as he entered a slow and jittery voice sounded ''W...w...wel... me back'' in a feminine voice. Behind the mask a single tear fell from his left eye as he went up to the chair that was in the middle. Tons of different tools were scattered on the floor as he sat, in one single chair in the room made from the same material the walls were made of and it was even fused with the floor. When he sat down the door automatically closed and the robotic voice sounded again ''I...in..ating p-p-p-p-p-p-p...gram'' the voice went silent once again leaving the room in silence and darkness for five seconds before light sources lit up in the room and gravity started to gradually begin to change, intensifying gradually until it hit a maximum of ten times the gravity of the outside world. Inside there, his bones creaked everytime he tried to move. But he didn't move anymore after a few seconds. This was the method of training that person had created for him, the one and only loss he regrets doing by his own hooves.

The note which Nightlight had seemed to be splitting from another one hidden behind it. The part behind it started with saying ''Industrial Zone'' and had the random letter G scrawled on it messily with some red ink that had dripped making it hard to make out what it actually said.

" First you say this dinner isn't ronantic," Bedlam said to Cipher, "and then you just show us your flank. Make up your mind."

Hooligan turned away from Cipher, "shut up would ya," he said to Bedlam. He turned back to Cipher, "sorry about him," said Hooligan apologetically, "Bedlam really isn't known for being polite." Hooligan looked at Ci's cutie mark and smiled, "I'm honoured that you'd let me see your cutie mark Ci really suits you."

He decided to go over to the roofs of the buildings in the other street to get a better view of the commotion, when he bumped into Hacktune.

 

He stood beside the pony, looking down at the commotion below.

 

"Any idea what's going on?"

"Probably another Bombing" He said with a grin. "Time to check it out I guess" He was about to jump down until suddenly.

 

Cipher Bolt reached the watching pony and aimed her horn at him. Her eyes, mane, tail, and horn were all glowing blue. She was about to aim a spell at him when she stopped. She disabled her horn and her body parts returned to normal. "Dammit, I did it again" was all she could say. She punched the stallion and took off.

"Son Of a..." He jumped from the roof trying to chase the alicorn, He Dashed trying to chase the alicorn, but she's too far away. and he fell down to the ground. Upon landing, he accidentally created a small explosion and set some stuff on fire with his abilities. "Crap Crap Crap Crap" He quickly run from the scene and headed to the Ink Keep's Inn. He took off his hoodie and his sunglasses. "Huff...Damn it.." He sat down on the stool and said "Helooooo, Anypony here?"

"Thanks. We should probably go now, dinner's almost ready.",she said. "This is Peter, by the way. He's my bunny." She held up Peter and put him in Hooligan's arms. "He's really cuddly, his tail can shoot fire, though...just don't touch it." Peter looked at Hooligan with his adorable little eyes.

When Hooligan looked at the bunny in his hooves he couldn't help but smile, "awwwww," said Hooligan, "you go on my do not kill list." Hooligan carefully placed the bunny down and looked at Cipher, "might I ask where this over guessed you mentioned is?" asked Hooligan.

"I decided not to invite him. He's ...not someone I trust...yet." Bolt said. She decided to change the subject. "Remember when we were little foals? When I was a toddler and you were a tween?" She smiled. "That was such a long time ago," she said. "I can barely remember it."

Inn Keep walked to the control room toggled the Inn's TV to the surveillance camera on the roof, to see Hooligan and that alicorn from before go through a portal.

 

'Welp, their gone now.'

 

He returned to his post at the bar, to be greeted by a new customer, the tinkling of a bell signalling his arrival.

 

 

 

"Helooooo, Anypony here?"

 

 

"Hello again, and welcome to my Inn." Second Sight proclaimed in his usual jolly tone. "We have food and drink for all occasions, and lodging if you plan to stay for a spell. Can i help you?"

Hooligan smiled as he remembered his childhood with Cipher, "I remember it well," said Hooligan happily, "you were just barely walking and I was barely insane."

"I wasn't there," Bedlam interrupted.

"Yet another reason why childhood was so enjoyable," Hooligan said jokingly.

Hacktune grabbed the cider and drank some of it "Well, I think you remember that there's some alicorn punched me for eyeballin her, you saw that right?" He took another sip from the cider "And you saw me chasing that alicorn and I dematerlized myself like..." Hacktune tries to use his smoke powers but he was out of fuel. "Crap, I'm out of juice... Anyway Did you know where the alicorn went?" He drank some of his cider again. "Ah... Also got any smoke or fire?, It's kinda my fuel heh" He said with a chuckle.

Inn Keep's eyes widened in recognition. "Oh the alicorn? Good luck with that, she went through a portal on my roof. Not sure if it's still there though, pretty sure i saw it close up.".

 

The earth pony ducked behind the counter and turned a few knobs. Within a few seconds, the fireplace in the common room sprung to life, casting dancing shadows across the room.

 

Inn keep got up and gestured. "Help yourself.... however you eat fire."

 

He learned a long time ago to stop questioning these kind of things
