Crystal looked at the pony in question, "I'd wager he's a hard worker but is frustrated by his job reckon he's had the chance to get higher up in his work place just for someone else to steal his promotion so he's stuck like this till he gets that one big break that can't be taken away from him."

"good, now with that in mind how many other reporter pony's you still see here dose he get along with. He's change his body position about 4 times with each pony that has passed him or sat next to him. He's had a few too many bad bar days I think or maybe he doesn't get out to often when not pushing papers" said coolwhip.

 

Taking a glance at the mare glad she was catching on quick and not being boring. He shook his head again clearing the thoughts of tools and pawns as Crystel said before hoof.

"Um that I can't answer it's somthing you are a little better at than me, go on you tell me because I would be here till next week so anyway." Crystal took a drink to shut herself up so she would not look foolish in front of Coolwhip. She looked back to the pony trying to figure out the answer before she was told it.

coolwhip shrugged "all righty then, the first time he changed position it was to hide from his ex the first pony with the sunglass's now drinking with that construction worker, the 2nd pony he shifted was an coworker who's wife he sleeps with or Stoll or hid the 3rds most prized passion as a prank but things went bad when it broke on him. but he isn't the sharpest spoon in the knife draw, and ill get too mean if I focus on him" Coolwhip took a breath which surprised Crystel even more.

 

"the 3rd pony is actually a coworker he gets along with so he shifted in a way to invite a conversation about hoof ball (soccer) and the 4th is a fan of an rival team to his favorite team so there is a bt of tension between the two" Coolwhip said.

 

"and if your wondering its do to the hoof ball hat he wears, and body language" finished coolwhip taking a long drink on his cider

"your, reading skills are well scary actually, you just strip away what ponies don't want anyone to know about them that is a trait that like what you said must get you slapped a lot. I mean don't get me wrong it must help in your line of work but do you turn it off? I mean my music I can, but can you?"

coolwhips grin went away after that, he looked at his cider almost looking annoyed at it but not at the same time. He then looked up at Crystel "if there is a way to, I don't know how to really. I try to learn things everyday and not have useless data in my head. Its like a computer, I keep usefulfiles and anything useless gos out the window" he paused realizing how crule he just sounded

 

"listen crystal you are not useless data if you think I just said that I didn't mean it in that way its just..." he paused again looing at his drink "that's the best way I could describe it....might be why I don't have too many friends but its helped with so many case's on the past even when my life was on the line." he said

"That sounds like a unfair deal an ability to do your work well but at the cost of your life outside it. To high a price in my opinion." Crystal finished of her drink then gave him another looking over she was still trying to work him out, despite his own ability to read others he was like a locked door to her, she had a nagging feeling for one thing or another like everyone but these was not even in his league and she honestly did not want to be, she was quite happy seeing the word normally.

"well you know what they say about power and responsibility, (guss the reference) but I wouldn't call it all too bad" he finished his cider and looked at Crystal

 

"I still can't read you like a book, congrats no many pony's can do that to me" he said winking at the mare. He then noticed something past the mare, he cooked his head to the side

 

"speaking of reading I no I'm not drunk but am I seeing this right, the pony behind you 3rd table to the left" Crystal turned seeing the pony coolwhip spotted. The pony resembled the dead pony they saw before hoof almost exactly. Without the coat looking all scratched up the pony in question looked well in shape and healthy.

Crystal turned back to him with a stunned look, "he's supposed to be dead, why is he in a bar with us? He was dead, I said it was magic!" Crystal was ready to jump the pony if she was given the nod he had some real questions to answer to them and the police, some very serious questions.

"maybe or maybe not" coolwhips phone buzzed from his scarf and he answered it

 

"talk to me" he said answering it, there was a bit of a pause and a raised eyebrow from coolwhip "fascinating, and the body its still intact?" another pause Crystel noticed an almost gleeful grin on the earth ponies face.

 

"ok don't let anypony else see it, lock it in the freezer and ill be over soon" coolwhip had a smile similar to the one when he was eating ice cream. He shook his head looking serious but Crystal could hear the glee in his voice still "ok you were right on the magic bit now we have a cross road" he looked up at crystal

 

"im going to head to the morgue there's been an very interesting update, you want to come with or shadow this pony here ether way things just got clever" coolwhip said doing a bad job hiding his smile.

"What?! I can't tail somepony, I would not know that to even do, but if we leave then who will watch him why do you need to go somewhere, what could be so important. I was right? I mean what was it to do with magic, oh..." Crystal shook her head she was confused by the suddenness of the options and Coolwhips odd behavior.

coolwhip leaned in whispering "the body turned into a changeling I need you to confirm if he is one or not carefully, without making a fuss. Not saying you wont because I know your better then that" he paused then continued  

 

"while I go see the body we saw before hoof. If both these two are twins then we have a family feud, if they have no blood relation then the changeling is a cover for something" coolwhip leaned back in his chair standing up and placing bits on the table

 

"either way, having you will help" coolwhip said smiling at the mare

"Ok i'll watch him, but if you come back and I say that I lost him don't hit me, I have not done this before so, go look at the changeling at the morgue." Crystal waved him off to go, she loved seat  s on the table and picked up a menu and kept and eye on the pony in question.

coolwhip blinked after she left "hit me if I loose him, what friend dose that if there not sparring? better go" he thought outloud and made his way out.

 

(I assume she's with in ear shot of him)

The pony in question being eyes by Crystel was laughing at a joke of some sort of the pony next to him with a brown coat and a flashy tie "So lando how did your vacation go, havnt seen you in a while thought you would be back in another mounth" said the brown pony

 

The pony crystal was eyeing took a gulp of his cider and then said "well you remember that mare I was heading out with right?"  

 

"let me gusse she bailed with the bits you saved for her"  the brown pony asked

 

"i wish, no insted that idoit got us pulled over by one of the wonderbolts off duty" he said  

 

The brown ponys raised an eyebrow "wait, they have off duty?"

 

"Spitfire did and yes her reputation dose follow her how she has a colt friend I almost feel bad for dealing with that" he said taking another drink

coolwhip was almost running on his way in with a smile he was fighting to show

 

"where?" was the only thing he asked as one of the doctors simply opened the door for him

 

coolwhip rushed into the freezer stopping in front of the changeling

 

"he turned into this After we started to cut into him, poor Sly damn near wet himself" said the orderly

 

"so nothing to deep then right" coolwhip said moving towards the tools and masks

 

"none I know how you are with evidence hence the call" said the orderly

 

"good just give me" he paused looking over the body

 

"you know what just set up a camera, you can take notes but don't talk or it'll ruin my concentration. no just leave the room after you set up the camera i'll need to review this later" coolwhip said prepping himself for the dissection

Crystal watched and listen as discreetly as she could trying to make note of what was being said, nothing of real note yet she thought but they may say something crucial believing themselves to be in the clear. she put down the menu and looked to the wall 45 degrees to them reading it too long may get their attention.

"So what happened then?" asked the brown pony

 

The pony called Lando rolled his eyes "come on, you think I was there long enough for her to disgrace my image, no I just" Lando pause looking around not noticing anything save a crystal pony, he hadn't run into many and she did look rather pretty.  

 

"easy now Lan buddy, you don't know how old she is" cautioned the brown coated pony

 

Lando shrugged turning back to his friend "well with that being said you know my usual song and dance happened"

 

The brown coated pony laughed "well I didn't see either of them or you on the news so I take it you clean up well you naughty colt" he laughed again

 

Lando chuckled said something Crystel couldn't make out, got up from the table and left the bar.

Crystal stood up and left after him she was trying to remain undetected she shadowed him as her walked through streets, changing sides and such and hiding if he'd look back she was being a proper sleuth just like Coolwhip, Ha this is kinda easy I think.

Lando kept walking mutter to himself he then shifted a bit inbetween ponys here and their. Soon he stopped at a bus station looking at a bus rout map for a bit (forgot to mention he had a blue vest on my bad) his phone rang with a tune familiar too Crystel but she couldn't hear him speak in it but he did stiffen a bit as if he was told something bad. "ok, later tonight same spot as usual" he hung up the phone looking annoyed at something.

 

Turning around he walked past Crystel almost bumping into her but didn't pay no heed save a grunt to her as he countiued the opposite way, he did glance a bit behind him but then continued his stern march to somewhere

Crystal panicked a little when he bumped into her but he kept going so she followed again trying to keep more distance this time, she needed to not blow her cover did not help she stuck out in the crowd like a sore wing. The one time I don't need a sparking coat is now. But she kept tailing him.

Lando seemed to have slowly blend almost to the crowd save the vest making him still easy to spot he soon seemed to have began to trot faster almost as if he was trying to get somewhere on time, going from a trot going into a full on gallop past the bar and on to the a train station going inside the station.
