GaroK0 2 February 4, 2016 Share February 4, 2016 I can remember FS once referred to France while criticising dress Rarity made for her. Also pinkie referred to switzerland cheese. How to explain that?
PinkieatHeart 208 February 4, 2016 Share February 4, 2016 Maybe they're places in their world that are similar to ours, but not quite the same. Only the name wasn't ponified. Unless they've accidentally/unknowingly copied things from our world. Some ponies know about humans, I'm sure.
cmarston1 5,964 February 5, 2016 Share February 5, 2016 Well Zecora was said to come from a far off land and so were Tirek and Scorpan, so maybe we could see one of those possible countries in season 6.
20% Cooler Than Cake 161 February 6, 2016 Share February 6, 2016 At first I thought that in Equestria, words like Swiss or French didn't really refer to actual countries, but were just types of cheese and stitches. However, since Apple Bloom spoke French in an episode, then there must be some place in the Equestrian world where these languages are spoken. Most likely in the Equestrian version of France and Switzerland. However, these countries don't have ponified names, so perhaps they aren't inhabited by ponies, but by some other creatures, maybe even humans. That would explain what would happen if an actual pony from our world were to go through the portal to Equestria. But if France and Switzerland are both nations in our world and the pony world, then what nation is Equestria in our world? “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” - Albert Einstein
