Jest (Inactive) 875 February 10, 2016 Share February 10, 2016 (edited) Heyall, did another recolor of a picture I really loved on the internet which I saw a couple of days ago. I start by saying: All credit goes to Kiveck the artist, all rights owned by him Original Source: https://derpibooru.org/1037283?scope=scpefbdcf214abaccb274f85a7a56f6b081af50a8f4d Original Image My recolor / edit Hopefully I did it some justice with this coloring I used a tool that is not much more advance than Microsoft paint, this took a little over four hours of pixel painting x) Edited February 11, 2016 by Jestwinged 2 -Amateur Artist- http://jestwinged.deviantart.com/ Signature by ~Kyoshi~
Mr Dash 1,820 February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 Overall I would say it's a nice recolor. The only thing is the hair. Mostly because it doesn't use the same outline as the rest of the picture. It just doesn't look quite right because of that. The pixel like feel that the recolor gives I quite like. I say good job using the tools available to you. If it's something you enjoy doing, then no matter how long it takes, it won't feel like a waste of time. Why when I first made a "digital" recolor of my OC's pencil sketch, I took a picture with my phone and used Microsoft Paint to trace and color him in. That's all I had available to me, and despite the time used to do that, I never felt it to be a waste. Now I have a Wacom tablet and use a program called Sketchbook Pro. If it's something you are really want to do, I would suggest getting a drawing tablet. It doesn't have to be a Wacom, but it would make things easier. But for the time being, keep using what you have available to you. Also on a side note, people make crazy artwork all the time using Microsoft Paint. 1 Like, don't underestimate my power man. Yeah for sure I would absolutely love to get into stuff like that with a tablet, but the massive problem for me at the moment is $$$, barely making even a month at the moment so that is out of the picture, but once I get a better job, it should be great, could you link me the tablet, or would that count as advertising? and yeah I agree about the hair, I will probably outline it today You do not have to be so rude. People put a lot of time and effort into their drawings. It's one thing to critique but it's another thing to put down someone else. This is a friendly forum. Please keep that in mind. Also looking good! Favorite pony as human looks amazing. time well spent Thanks for the feedback, and yeah human RD is pretty b0ss Use vectors or don't make digital art you wasted four hours if you ask me. Update Finished for now, apart from a few minor fixes I am pretty happy with it Edited February 11, 2016 by Jestwinged -Amateur Artist- http://jestwinged.deviantart.com/ Signature by ~Kyoshi~
Mr Dash 1,820 February 11, 2016 Share February 11, 2016 This is the tablet that I got. I was able to get it cheaper when I got it. But one nice thing about Wacom is they include some free art programs to download. There are other cheaper brands that still work well though. Like, don't underestimate my power man.
